The Ultimate Evil Cooked Maps: Prepare to DIE!

It's not that hard, Gwaja made more evil ones ;)
Fin + Rivers + Jumbos + 3 decent cities (food is okay) = with a bit of luck you can break out, and bonus for Hawachas.
Maybe bulb maths.
Also with protective if you stay small..hard for them to get war success without Cats.
Just not sure if i have the patience currently.

Just to be clear.... TMIT and Fippy...

Notice my 1st post on this thread where I said that this map is dedicated to my friends of old? Guess what... you two are my honorary guests~~ Now stop telling me that my maps are easy and entertain us with your uberness! ^_^

All jokes aside though, it seems there are great progresses here!

The challenge in this map is not necessarily the 3 worst neighbors you can possibly have... remember that there are 3 other AIs out there somewhere... and they may be of even worse bunch... in a different way of course. ^_^

If Fippy demonstrates some of his feats, you'll go blind :)and feel very small. I do for one.

This map looks familiar...

Spoiler :

Long ago there was an immortal university map that looked very much like this, with us being Korea and surrounding neighbors being...well like this. We had at least Monty and Shaka, maybe Toku too but I forget. It seems familiar though. I recall Obsolete GGfarming the crap out of it.

It would be hard on deity, excepting some silliness like Monty founding religion and the whole thing turning into a giant group hug.

Did you make a video out of that one? I seem to recall one where you settled way out towards Shaka on a hill and they suicided about 100 units on that city while you teched to rifles.

Back on topic, I'm on my 2nd attempt here and this one is probably winnable.

Spoiler :
First attempt i got pre-1000BC DoW from Shaka before i even got Alpha. Most of my units were in the NW fending off waves of barbs so that was an instant loss.

Second attempt Monty spread religion to everyone, I'm pleased with all 3, and there's been no warfare. It's late BCs and I'm assembling a stack of Hwacha and phants, but I'm not sure i have time to play it out

Yep that's what I thought too. It was with Mao, one of your last Civ 4 videos. That's actually what inspired my opening on this map (although a lot less efficient because lacking a good choke point)

I think the key is to found the religion yourself. By settling on the ivory you put the wine tile in your BFC. With fin you have +3 commerce, once the borders pop, and I think you can pull off pretty safe odds going for hinduism yourself.

I think this position while not a piece of cake, also seems very winnable, just need decent war luck until you can get hwachas.

I started goofing off in my game, figuring since I founded hinduism, I might as well go through some more religion techs, building Oracle and using the GP points for the shrine. I can't remember the last time I self-teched both monotheism and monarchy

To be honest, as soon as I saw cooked map, though thought was "warmonger sandwich with peaceful AIs on another continent". The best ways to make such a map hard:

- make it reasonably likely for a stable religion on the other continent
- make sure each warmonger is likely to get "land target" to player
- make sure the foreign AI has lots of green land and luxuries to grow super large early
- make sure that the AI not nearby not only tech well, but also have similar peaceweights.
- allocate land such that one of the distance civilizations gets impossible huge (box in one AI on a peninsula to make sure another gets 25% land peacefully)

I don't have the micro patience of the old "super deity" players, but there have been some utterly brutal and deliberately unrealistic maps that have been won here ;).

No, the game I was referring to was much older...IIRC it came from the time I was hosting IU.

Joao is a good candidate for distant AI, as are Zara, Justinian and Cathy. Traditional peacemongers like Mali don't expand quickly enough, and Joao will really gouge science after abusing his expansion bonuses.

Sgotm eats all my Civ brain power currently, Gwaja my dear ;)
You know i will touch all your maps sooner or later thou..!

This doesn't sound quite right, at least not to someone whose mind has gone to the dark side.

If you give Sury some land on Deity he can crush everyone too.

I had forgotten everybody's resident super alien. Of course he belongs on that list too.

These are actually not the worst AIs around imo..
Shaka has 60% prob. for plotting at cautious, Toku 50%.
Monty is bad with 80%, and Alex would be worse than Shaka or Toku with 80% too.
Cathy is also really evil, she does not build as many units but gets out cities real fast with annoying culture..hello close borders. And also has 80%.

I forget Cathy's peaceweight; if it's sufficiently warmongery she'd be a decent pick. I still like Alex better though; AIs are a lot more of a pain early on with AGG or PRO (or both). Also, Cathy might actually tech well and become a viable trade partner (even getting to friendly on HR love), and we can't be having that!

Still, one of the challenges on a map like this is annoying, tech-deprived neighbors + super AI somewhere else. Putting a super AI next to us gives us a squishier target with better tech potential. It's hard to picture that as a more difficult game, despite that she would be somewhat likely to declare too. And especially in her case it's too easy to turn her with her favorite civic.

Spoiler :
Ragnar here instead of Monty might actually be worse. Less chance of getting a religion to share and then all 3 AI would be unwilling to trade techs before pleased. You would have to gift them cities to get anywhere.

@ Fippy, TMIT, Izuul

You know you want to play. Why resist? :cooool:

Gwaja will not make a more devilish map if you don't win this one first! :nya:
