The Underdogs

Yes, that future is going to replace my current signature. I was playing Today from May last year, and it was consuming most of my attention even with 1 civ. Now, this future DominEarthion game will be the biggest game ever. Every single civ will be controlled by human player, so modern Earth under the command of modern humans, 5 civs each. I am hoping to finish Today before I start looking for playmates for this one.

My biggest problem is to rearrange so many civs: each player has to play listed 5 civs one after another. If anyone knows about some civ swapping utility please let me know. Editing original save file is a pain. One character goes wrong -- and you get infamous "You are defeated message" on start :badcomp:

Start with the highest number and work backwards. i.e. descending order

e.g. edit/replace 40 with AAZZ then 39 with AAYY and so on until you get to to 0, i.e. a unique sequence not likely to be found anywhere in the file.

Then replace the 4 letters with the actual number you want for that nation.

Otherwise if you replace in ascending order you get a problem whereby 1 is mistaken for 11,12,13 ... or 2 is mistaken for 21,22,23 etc. and so on.

Oh and by the way I am in.

HABETUM SECRETARIUM!

Great news, all peace loving nations! We have a Secretary General. Thankfully it is not Peace Nobel prize winner Obama (did he get that prize because of the peace in Iraq?). It's a person from eliminated nation of South Korea currently ruling over Norway, Dominican Republic, Philippines, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands Iceland and Fiji! Yes, our current real life Secretary Ban Ki-moon! Clearly human players were instrumental in his election -- he scored 93 votes out of minimum 82, with African nations providing 6 votes each! Let's see what would be his first bright idea.

In the historic move direct diplomatic relations and open borders were established with socialist dictator Chavez from the neighboring republic of Venezuela. I mean after Venezuela struck an Oil for everything-USA-can-offer deal we have some doubts about him walking his America bashing talk, so why not show some approval?

Looks like poor Iraq is paying 42 gold for American Uranium, having sold them another Oil. Santos wonders why do Iraqis even need Uranium? And why they would not wait for it to come as a gift, like Coal did? :nuke:

Ah you read our trades wrong. We pay 42 gold per turn for Uranium... and about 6 other resources! We struck a deal for all Obama's excesses and he accepted! Iraq has no plans for nuclear weapons, and our lack of espionage defense will show that in time.

Oh so you call me a dictator, marioneta? The only reason you´re in power at all is because you´re America´s puto! (OoC note: I don´t speak any Spanish myself and rely solely on the internet to supply me with swear words.)

Nevertheless, after our Chinese brotherland just made in no uncertain terms clear that it would end very badly for us if we don´t supply them with an ungodly high amount of our yearly corn yield, we think it might be time to look around for other allies, even if it means signing a pact with the devil.

Well, we have one extra Corn and may be willing to part with it, if you make us a good offer. By the way, when are you going to build a Well on that third Oil?

10 GPT?
I´m on it. Why, you want some?

10 GPT? AI market values do not work for humans! Life sucks without Corn, man. 25 gpt will feed your people with a fine Colombian corn, perhaps your Havana will finally get size 9 or something.

We would gladly trade Oil for Oil. See, China (or Brazil) can demand your own resources, but if you get something from us they cannot do it. We should of trade Corn for Corn, actually! Another way of being creative when you are Underdog!

Why, you little...

20 GPT plus you have at least one of your units in each of my cities at all times so I can break away from China without having to fear Nukes.

You could easily break away from Brazil, it´s not a nuclear power AFAIK. Heck I´d even support your independence if you support mine.

I wonder how votes in UN are calculated? I thought that it is based on population, but I got 5 votes vs Egypt's 3 - and they have 20 pop Cairo

Apparently Obama is the worst enemy of Putin - now I think of building some :nuke: so that in case of war we can cover Mother Russia from American protege in Baghdad.

Votes are 1 vote per city owned. So you had 5 votes, and I had 2... Now, resolutions are different, there you get votes per population points somehow...

In my test games big guys never fight first. It always starts in Koreas or in Middle East, just like in real life. That's why I like this scenario so much.

sent to colombia finally, sorry for the delay.

A factory was built in Mosul, and our overlords and their friends the British patrol the area. Iranian armies are definitely much much bigger than mine!

Deal accepted! Even Havana got Colombian Fighter, to make Cubans safe!

Excellent, now I don´t have to fear any repercussions when China demands tribute again, but as they just did that last turn I doubt that they´ll come to me very soon.

*opens turn*
*sees this*

*rofl*   OMFG This is rich. Y´know what, keep the Corn but leave the troops, 'caus I got to teach my former overlord a lesson or two about anti-imperialism.
In other words I´m free. \o
Now if only I could get some allies, but the only powerful country that even considers declaring war on China demands too high a price for it. :/

I don't remember Venezuela having Spice .. oh wait, there was one on that Havana plot in Cuba. So you've broken free? Did your score like skyrocketted? :groucho:

I didn't ... well, skyrocketted was obvious exagerration, but vassals do get penalty in score, so when you are no longer one you should see some boost, I will check before and after situation when I get my turn.

Spoiler :
You mad, bro? :)
