The Underdogs

Well, basically after Nighthawk hits the end of turn during his 120th turn game will declare the official winner -- most likely EU will win time victory. Perhaps game will stop at that point. Screenshot of the bottom of the score table with "And the winner is ..." message will be our official document, even if it is shows turn 121...

Tigranes, when the time will come to name the Topdog, are we just going to compare points after player #6 finishes turn 120?
What if a human breaks free from his master on that very turn meaning that nukes will fly his way only on turn 121?

This is a great point - the best way to get the points boost from breaking free without actually having any repurcussions! Tigranes' response doesnt seem to address the problem though...

Well, let me tell you this. Breaking free gives you 50 points or so, not that much, even though it can be enough to have an edge. Plus you cannot break any time you want, AI has to demand something from you, it's not that easy to get the eviction notice right when you need it. Simply put -- try to lead other Underdogs by safe margin to assure your victory.

Look at Venezuela now :mischief:. She is leading runner-up our Kenya by some 50 points. If Kenya stays under India's protection for 120 turns -- who knows how many acquisitions Venezuela will have by then? Conquering Mexico, for example, can easily give you 200+ points, far more than last minute freedom from master. Everyone is free to design his winning strategy, but last minute freedom is simple not very competitive one, so, really, no needs for extra house rules in that department.

We want Copper, no questions asked, we are ready to pay every price.

:dunno: Must be Congo... I can see now why people use PBEM tracker...

Well, Kiwi has been playing his turns in the other game I'm in with him so I'd be surprised if he hasn't passed this one on yet. But then again, so have Kokturk and nighthawk so *shrug*.

Looks like we should all get in the habit of gps-ing here after every turn so we know if and where things are getting held up.

I always have a comment after I just played, even during uneventful turns. Actually during very eventful turns one needs to keep quiet sometimes :)

Yeah, that comment was meant for myself as much as it was meant for others. ;)
I've been bad about that. Nothing exciting going on in my turns so I haven't bothered to leave any notes.

My fault ... RL and an upgraded PC got me a bit confused.

The delay was on me, sorry about that everyone. Real life got in the way. Sent to Tigranes.

PS - Judaism spread into Baghdad! The Pacifist Muslims running the show under the watch of the USA have allowed the religion to gain influence!

Columbian people got connected to the World Wide Web! Government ordered to download all the technological secrets we could get our hands on... :)

We have size 16 city -- and trading copper helped.

Let's call it our little commercial secret ;)

Just 1 gold will suffice :) . After you send it to me I will teach you how to press F4 key, click on me, and mouse over all the potential trade partners. By the time you will get to Peruvian dude -- you can even see how much I am paying him for Copper. It is critical to cut the deals early in game -- usually America grabs all the best deals and leaves us leftovers.

-.- I knew that.
