Is there a term for when you've never heard a song before, but it still sounds familiar?

This is a really odd question and I've never worried about this myself. It's an elevator, they're usually located in public buildings that are well-lit. I don't think I've even talked to another human being in an elevator.

Hobbs' concern is a little more reasonable since both genders can identify with that fear. My go-to in those instances is to simply make a lot of noise. I'll walk louder and perhaps cough a couple times. People who are up to no good are generally less eager to call attention to themselves and it'll alert them to your presence long before your proximity can even be a threat. Anyone who's ever tried anything with me in a dark area/alley/garage/wherever were intentionally quiet and didn't draw attention to themselves.

Well, my thinking is, being locked in a small space with a large strange man might make her uncomfortable enough that the courteous thing to do would be to get the next lift. But I guess no one cares.

You haven't stopped to consider that maybe you don't want to be locked in a small space with a small strange woman.

This is a question that I was asked.

Why would people want a quieter vacuum cleaner?

I always fled the room when someone was vacuum cleaning with a noisy one.
Now, with the quiet one, I don't bother anymore, and stay lazy doing nothing like reading or so.

I don't know what's worse for the one doing the vacuum cleaning....

I also have a vacuum related query: Near the handle, why do they have this little hatch you can slide open? What's it's purpose?

Depends on the model of vacuum. They don't all have that. Some might have it as a way to check if it were full.

I used it to decrease the suck pressure when I suck up paper/curtains so I can remove it from the nozzle without having to walk over to the main unit and turn it off.

I also have a vacuum related question.

If someone says "This vacuum cleaner really sucks," is it a very good vacuum cleaner or a very poor one?

The good ones suck, the poor ones blow.

What's the origin of "vibes"/"vibrations"? Why did people start saying "I get good vibrations from him"? Is it a new age thing about energy vibrating/oscillating? Is it something in Buddhism? Is it about music?
