Question: Anybody here see the fuzzy-wuzzy lovin' cup explosion?

(Sorry. I couldn't resist.)

It's a line from the Guess Who's "Hand Me Down World." I'm not really sure what it means but I always thought it was funny.

At least it's not The The.

Here's a fun fact: The Guess Who were originally Chad Allan & the Expressions. But the record company, to capitalize on the whole British Invasion thing, decided to slap "Guess Who?" on their first few records, and the name ended up sticking. Chad Allan actually ended up leaving the band after a few years.

You know, it never occurred to me that someone wouldn't know about the Guess Who. I'm not really that smart today.

I blame CanCon.

YOu're not alone.
BTW, TIL that the Guess Who and The Who are not the same group.

I’ve known the song “American Woman” since forever but had never heard of the Guess Who until I made the CanCon thread

Want to get even more confused? "Hand Me Down World" isn't even a Guess Who song. It was originally done by Brother, a short-lived band from Winnipeg. When Kurt Winter (who was part of Brother) joined the Guess Who, they ended up co-opting quite a few songs.

I'd just ask her out as that seems both faster and easier. Not that having her friend feel her out on the subject would be a bad move either.

The issue with the first part is that I really cannot predict when a good chance for that will occur. Maybe not at all in the next month, that could be.
I can provoke a bad chance, because I know when the girls go to Zumba class, and I go to the same gym, but that'd mean at minimum 1 more friend with her. In the middle of the gym, on a Tuesday early evening. So not great.

And I'm not sure if my friend would actually do that. Maybe she even did already, without telling me. Maybe she'd not even talk positive about me, I don't know.

Have I missed something in the dating game? I thought "I can't ask her out when her friends are there" was limited to the high school experience and was no longer valid as a grown adult.

Oh I thought you were saying you were pretty confident you were going to run into her again soon.

I don't think it's weird to ask her out while her friends are around.

Yes, but not sure if it'll be a an easy situation.

Let me clarify: I do not know if I'll be able to have a 1-on-1 conversation with her, without someone else waiting for her to leave the conversation.
Like on Thursday I had like 10 seconds when I talked to her 1-on-1, then one of her friends showed up with the bike, ready to leave, waiting for her.
After the Zumba class, at least one other girl who I know will be with her. If a conversation starts, then it wil be minimum 3 people. I can try to own the situation and ask her out in front of her friend (hey, balls!), but I'm not sure if I can pull that off.

Just act casual. Asking her out doesn't have to be this big important thing where you don't have anyone else around.

Question: North of the equator, has a hurricane ever started traveling south?

@aimeeandbeatles - your questions about the black hole looking thing in the previous thread (it won't let me quote)

I'd bet that's either the sun or the moon showing up as an artifact in the data.
