The votes are in: Jesus wins

Is it me or has this thread disappeared into arm wavery and ahhhhh but isn't it and, ahhhhh yes very mistical. What is reality, Jesus would have been proud no doubt, ahhhhhh but ahhhhhhhh, no not ahhhhhh..:)

Ahhhh?
hmm.gif

You know.

Someone says something pseudo phillosophical.

And everyone goes ahhhhhhhhhhhh, that's deep man.

And then someone says, God's tears are Buddhas sky cats on acid, and someone goes yeah ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Or whatever. You know like a sort of let's just say ah but isn't existence x? Or what is x, and leave it at that, and go ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:)

Yeah thats basically what Bird Jaguar and punkbass and Bozo (sometimes) tend towards. The less reasoning provided the better.

That way it stays mystical and (relatively) unassailable.

Of course it's fine I feel that way, you and your cohorts make it quite clear that everything is fine, there is no right or wrong. But then, in what way am I incorrect?

The implication that we're doing it specifically so that it cannot be challenged. We're just stating our perceptions of reality as we see them.

Well I don't have a problem with it, but they're no more substantial than say the flying spaghetti monster, fine if you want to see the universe as the threads of ineffable consciousness, permanently entangled by jam and peanut butter? But to be honest it doesn't make for much of a discussion really, and the topic is Jesus Pwning everyone anyway, so I guess it's also OT.:p :) but anyway I never really cared for the topic anyway, so I guess it's more fun than Jesus going righteous on all our arses?

Yes there's nothing offensive about that in and of itself. What is not helpful is denying that unless we all agree reality is objective we can't even have these discussions. Thats why stating subjective perceptions is always welcomed, it contributes nothing unless they are weighed against some standard in the effort of determining truth. I believe the ancients called it dialectic. We, in our confusion of language just call it discussion or debate. At least the "d" remained.

You are incorrect because it is unanalyzable.

Everybody can claim that everything is fine and there is no right or wrong by implicating a statement concerning what passes within us as a anecdotal hypothesis that takes place by personal idiomatic perspective to explain what takes place in what we commonly call the external world.:)

I guess i was being peculiarly wordy there.:crazyeye:

Well you have only seen half the picture I guess. While I do subscribe to a mystical view of existence, I also fully subscribe to the value and truth (little "t") of science and reasoning as an important, but limited source of knowledge.

@PrincepsAmerica, Sidhe, & CartesianFart:

I would like to know what your most favorite songs or pieces of music are and then have you tell me why they are and why they make you feel the way they do when you hear them. I am sure you can reason that out and explain it in a manner I can understand.

Now if you only listen to them when you are drunk or stoned please ignore the question.

Quasar, but then how come when Jesus taught us how to pray, he began with 'Our Father, who art in heaven...'
Because He was talking to believers. His disciples approached Him, and asked Him to teach them how to pray. God is the Father of those who believe in Him; Satan is the father of disbelievers, according to Jesus. This is in a spiritual sense, of course- not a physical, mortal sense.

Well that would be fine if it was a thread saying what is your favourite album/music/song etc, this is not what is your favourite made up view of reality? That I think is the point. It's somewhat OT, don't get me wrong I am perhaps the most guilty poster of going off on a tangent at times, I just thought this thread had devolved into ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Not saying Ahhhhh Matthew, type thread.

So I decided to play Matthew.

This for example is more on topic.:)

People are stupid, and too lazy to think for themselves.
Hence, accept invented idols and superheroes to worship.

More and more, I see there is no hope for this sick, frenzied breed called humanity.

...

Good thing you're not human, right Curt. You're not too lazy to see the truth.

And not biased in anyway surely.
