Yeah, I prefer the artwork on that site to a lot of what else is floating around out there. That and it offers images for some of the figures you can't find anywhere else. If/When I do make some units from those pics though, I probably won't attach capes to the figures. Really more trouble then they're worth when it comes to animating.

and thanks Hrafnkell. Sounds like you've got yourself a pretty cool fiance. :) I'm hoping once I get a couple more of these units posted we'll be able to really get cranking on the rest of the mod.

Oh... and for a progress update (the real reason I checked into the thread :) ), I've finished all but 2 of the animations for the Red Shield (2nd Attack & Death). So I"m planning on finishing those up tonight, plus I've probably got 1/4 of the animations done for the Stone Dogs and Water Seekers. Almost there.

Didn't get as much done the past 2 days as I would have liked sorry to say, but I did finish all the renderings for the Red Shield today. I plugged it in, did some in-game tests, and it's ready to go.

I'm aiming to have the pack posted by Sunday or Monday. Saturday would be a squeeze, but we'll see. I'll post previews of attacks and such for the remaining two aielmen as I'm going, to see what you all think. I'm not going to lie, I'll definitely be glad when I'm done with these guys. :) I'm pleased with how they're coming out, but man they've been hanging over my head for way too long.

Later :D

The hard work will pay off Cam... these are some of the best units I've seen, let alone units for one single mod! The only hard part is now for me to get off my lazy bum and start doing my part.... y'all can kick me in that bum to get me going if ya like.:p

You beat me to it Sasha. :D
I'm sure it's more business than laziness Alerum, so I'm not sweating it. ;)

I've actually finished up 5 out of the 8 animations for the Stone Dog, so who knows I might be able to finish it tonight and then get cranking on the Water Seeker. The closer I keep getting to the end, the more inspired I get to get these done.

Amazing. This is really looking like it's going to be an awesome Mod. I haven't played Civ in some months, but I've been checking back on this Mod every now and then because when it comes out I won't be able to stop playing it!!!

All of those involved are truly doing an excellent job.

:goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

I'm looking forward to playing it too bud. ;)

Good News! The Stone Dog is now finished. :D Sorry Alerum, I couldn't work in that spin kick like we had hoped. The shirt/coattails were giving me fits trying to make them look realistic with that grand of a movement. But I'm hoping you'll still like it anyways.

And just to add a little flavor to this update, here's a preview of the Stone Dog's death animation:

All that's left now is the Water Seeker. Oh so close.

Later :)

No, but maybe I'll work that into another unit later on. ;)

He's lowering his veil. They cover their faces in battle so that the Creator won't see them kill, but I figured he'd like the Creator to recognize him while on his deathbed. In both the victory and death animations for these 3 units I have them unveil to signify the end of the battle.

I try and mix it up some. I already had the Red Shield falling forward in his death animation, so I wanted to do something different with this one that way it didn't look too repetitive. I'll keep the impale suggestion in mind. I already have the Red Shield and Stone Dog units complete, and I'm going to use the Water Seeker as the archer/bowman unit, so I don't think impaling himself with an arrow would be believable. I have a couple sword units coming up though, and I might try and work it in with one of them. If I do, I'll post a preview of it first, and then probably offer a second death animation as an alternate for those who prefer a little less gore. :)

An impaling can be good without too much gore. The less the blood the less gory. I think it would be neat, myself.

and the Seanchan would be perfect for a death scene like that. Looking good, but did it have to be a stone dogs death? I played a Stone Dog in another game, and it hurts seeing him die instead of kill! hehehe... looking good none the less.;) I'm going to have so much backlog putting these characters into the game... and we still have to figure out stats!

Stats will probably be easier once we have most of the units plugged in, that way we can rank them by comparison. Of course then there will always be adjustments afterwards to balance out the gameplay.

Sorry, knowing how you feel about the Stone Dogs, I should have picked a different animation to preview. ;)

I'm about half way with the animations for the Water Seeker. I probably could have finished it off today if I pushed, but I needed a little break from the Aiel for a while. But I've just about got the model for the next unit complete. If I can finish up and post the aielmen tommorrow, then I should probably be able to crank out the next one hopefully by midweek. But then of course, something always seems to pop up and push back any deadlines I set. :D

While enjoying a brief break from working on the Aiel, I put this together so I could get going on it right after I finish up the Water Seeker. It could possibly be used as a foot knight for all the Randland Civilizations, but I think it's more important to fill in the remaining gaps at this point. Xen made a request for an Italian Foot Knight, which happen to resemble some of the artwork I have for the Guardians, so I figured I might as well kill two birds. Hope you guys like it. :)

I know how you feel.

I think the Guardian of the Gate looks really good.

Without further delay, I present to you... the Aielmen Unit Pack.

Sorry for the delay guys. I would have had them posted Sunday, but I had to redo many of the animations several times over. But they're done now, and I can finally take a breath... but only a short one. ;)

Great work, take a breath before you move on. I don't want you burning yourself out before this mod is done.
