President Ali Al-Baghdadi is proud to have the privilege to announce the foundation of the largest alliance of Muslim nations since the Prophet Mohammed was alive. Iraq, Iran and Pakistan have agreed to join their nations in the fight to rid the Muslim world of foreign influence. For too long our brothers in Sunni led countries have been beguiled in to a life of vice. For too long have we stood and watched our nations get robbed of their oil, their culture and most of all their virtuosity. Religious tolerance, a poison to our society, will no longer be acknowledged in our nations as the Shiite way is the only way to find peace with God. Iraq takes the first step today with deposing the corrupt King Abdallah of Jordan and replacing him with a Shiite head of state to lead the nation in to a new era of morality by ridding it of its western influence.

With a pincer movement from the north and the south of Lesotho, the 1st Mechanized Commandos penetrated at a fast pace into the tiny monarchy that has been totally surrounded by the Union since its independence. The monarch had been losing support from its subjects for the last years since the start of World War III and even before, and thus the South African Army was readily welcomed to the country.

Being that they are the most powerful regional power (with Japanese and Indian permission), China soon made the most of that supremacy to subdue Laos. After heavy bombardment by the Air Force and several Artillery detachments destroyed Vientiane practically in its totality, its inhabitants fled the city to join the many warbands that had started to appear all around the nation as an answer to this attack. However, unlike in the times of the Vietnam War, this time there might not be anyone that will be able to save them from the powerful enemy.

After the announcement of the creation of the Islamic Council of Shiite Nations, Iraq started to exhort its growing military army (formed mostly by insurgent veterans of the war against the US Coalition) by launching an invasion of their neighbour Jordania. The small Jordan army was barely able to stop the furious enemy troops to allow their King Hassan II to be taken away to an undisclosed foreign nation. After Iraq took formal control over the nation (which was soon annexed to Iraq), they started to impose the Shari'a law system in the country and started to force conversions to the Shiite faith since they believe religious tolerance is a poison to society. Christians, Jewish and Sunni Muslims, among others, have started to flee the former Hashemite Kingdom, running towards either Israel or Saudi Arabia, where they hope to be able to leave for more tolerant countries.

With a nocturnal attack, the Bundeswehr invaded the Grand Duchy, using the 43rd Motorized Division to great effect, as all resistance to German advance was quickly subdued without blood being dropped on the floor. The Duke soon acquiesced with the new state of things, and attended an emergency session of the Bundesrat, where he asked that Luxembourg be given autonomy so that it may conserve its own culture and language. Observers credit the fast acceptance of this suggestion as one of the things that are keeping peace in Luxembourg.

After a secret meeting with the heads of the most important Russian companies (such as LUKOIL, Sukhoi or AvtoVAZ), Prime Minister Lelyushenko declared that Russia's main objective will be to rebuild the industrial capabilities of the nation, so that they may be able, not only to give jobs to the many millions of unemployed people, but to rebuild the military by creating a great number of factories. The most ambitious plan in this was revealed by Industrial Minister Boris Mussorgsky, who stated that they hoped to have the biggest industrial complex in the world built in less than a year in the outskirts of the city of Perm. Already work has started in there, and it is hoped that this complex will give job to hundreds of thousands that live in Perm.
Spain invades Portugal
In a fast movement that crossed the borders through several points, the Spanish Army managed to invade Portugal after knocking down the small Portuguese Army in the Battle of the Douro at relatively small cost for themselves. Key to the success of the invasion were the Infantería Hispana Divisions, which were better trained than the Portuguese only Infantry Division and showed their superiority during said battle. While a few resistance fighters have taken refuge in the Algarve, in the south of Portugal, President Márquez has announced that the Government will work to give Portugal an Autonomy Statute that will put Portugal in the same level as Catalonia or Galicia.

After the severe anti-French riots that started to hit the United Kingdom a few days before New Year's Ever started to spread all around the country, the French Embassy in London (which is being protected by police and Army units on a 24/7 basis) issued a communication in which they urged all French nationals to remain in their homes and hotels and to call the Embassy so that the authorities could take them to an airport from where they would be able to go to France as soon as possible. Probably to counter French threats to use their own Special Forces to deal with the rescue, the Royal Navy started to patrol in the Channel to prevent French soldiers from crossing it. It would take several days before all French nationals in England, Scotland and Wales were evacuated to either France, Belgium or Spain, while those in Northern Ireland were taken to Dublin from where travel was easier to do. The United Kingdom governement already issued an official apology for the riots. No response has been heard from the French government as of yet regarding this development.
North America
USA: Military or Economic Threat?
In the United States, no action has been taken other than to reserve resources. This course has nearby nations such as Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean nations keeping a close eye on the US, since this could mean a sudden build of forces in which to threaten their sovereignty. This sentiment is especially prevalent in southern neighbor, Mexico, which is unable to field an army as large as Canada, and doesn't have a sea in which to stall or sink invading troops. However, this move could be to strengthen the American industry, and have nothing to do with military or conquest. Either way, all the neighbors of the United States are watching them carefully...seeing the new female president as either a military threat, or an economic rival.
South America
Brazil invades French Guiana
After the fall of the French Government due to the problems World War III caused to the world, the people of French Guiana decided to declare independence, and soon a constitution was written by the hastily created Constitutional Parliament, a constitution that would be soon approved by 85% of the population. However, their birth in the middle of international turmoil prevented them from acquiring enough weaponry to create an efficient army, and Brazil was able to take advantage of that problem as they invaded the small country without much resistance, save for the several hundreds of people that have decided to run to the jungles after having assaulted the national armories and taken all sort of weaponry from there. However, their efforts are doomed, since their supplies are very low and they aren't able to mount an efficient resistance to Brazilian efforts in the zone.

Major Hussayn stood in the window of his new office at the commandeered childrens hospital in Amman, looking out on the streets as people were going about ther business. What he saw appalled him. Women walking around unescorted, laughing, talking to strangers. Some even had their hair showing. As the OIC (Officer In Charge) of the Department for the Promotion of Islamic Virtues and Prevention of Vice's branch in Amman it was his job to make sure the Shari'a laws were implemented in the city.His task was no small one, Amman was a large city and its inhabitants have been corrupted by foreign ideas for a long time. Only minutes ago he had finished a meeting with his captains, giving them their instructions on how to impose the Shari'a laws. No longer will women be allowed to walk outside their property alone, no longer will they be allowed to smile or talk to strangers, no longer will they be allowed to expose skin outside their home. If a woman is caught breaking any of these laws, religious police will escort her home and the head of the family will be whipped. If the woman is a repeat offender, all male members of the family will be brought to the nearest marketplace or town square to be whipped in public.
