I'm curious, are there any reports of "Jackassed, rude, Pickpocketing Polish tourists/poles living in england/ireland" out there? or is it just an offensive stereotype made up by xenophobic jackassed english and irish? (can it even be considered a stereotype? Muslim Terrorists is a stereotype. But i bet not even 0.5% of the Polish people living in the british isles are pickpocketers.

Anyway, what is the international opinion of Polish Tourists?

You can't call them tourists if they never go back home.

On package holidays the Irish go out and get drunk and annoy people, the British go out and get drunk and get aggressive, that's why we have bad reputations.

Americans are fine, usually friendly and chatty.
Italians never leave Italy cos they are afraid of the food.

i love american tourists who keep asking me the dumbest questions ever. i think canadians are the worst tourists to AMERICA, but to the rest of the world we are amazing :D

we just love to agree with the disinformed americans who ask if we live in igloos, own pet beavers and moose, drink pure maple syrup, etc.

for the world, british tourists are obnoxious as ****. they drink, get rowdy, and stick up their noses at your uncultured civilisation.

Chinese people and Brits.,

Americans and Canadians tend to be nice, though we Americans can be a tad loud and more touchy-feely than other people (i.e in France, no hugging).

I think most American tourists are quite good! They tend to be loud and complain sometimes, but they are also fair and friendly. If you get them what they want, they are appreciative. They can be ignorant, but that is better than nasty and condescending (Brits).

French Canadians Who Visit Florida.

Since the CDN dollar has improved, their cheapness might abate.

They stressed this point (maybe cause it was Canadian news?), the natives always assumed that the Canadian tourists were American, and treated them badly, BUT when they found out they were Canadian, they started treating them MUCH much better!

My experience as a Canadian travelling abroad:

"**** off you American scum"

"Actually, I'm Canadian"

"Then **** off you Canadian scum."

Generally, anyone who would treat someone badly for their nationality pretty much hates all nationalities.

That's what I meant..hehehe.

Chinese people always talk in Chinese only, which always puts me off. I grew up in a house where my mother tongue wasn't English, except the language was only in places where other people could understand, so seeing people talk in a language that they only know is IMO rude. Brits, on the other hand, have the same proportion of annoying people as other groups, but their extremists are the most annoying..gawking, pointing, staring, condescending people.

How did NZ get so high on the list, when our young go off to pillage Europe we tell them to put an Aussie flag on their packs :D
Americans can be loud, but they are polite.
Amusing how so many Brits expect the natives of countries to assimilate their way when they move to another country.

Americans get poor marks in some areas (likely to complain about petty things) but great marks in others (very big spenders / tippers)
Thanks for the list. I've heard that businesses (owners mostly) love Americans for precisely this reason: they don't get nearly as much feedback from the more "polite" natives. If there's one thing Americans are good at, it's complaining. Just be glad you don't have to work in customer service in America. It's like dealing with American tourists, except everyone's an American tourist :crazyeye: It's enough to drive you mad...
There are Polish tourists ?
+1

My pick was the French. This is because we rarely if ever get anyone out in the suburbs or back in Iowa, and I rarely go to the city. The only "tourists" I've had to deal with that I remember really were French exchange students, and they were the rudest, least mannered a-holes I ever met.

As an American that tries to be polite and learn the language, etc, I don't particularly like being hated on for my place of origin, but in my travels abroad I really didn't notice much. Maybe it was because I was generally quiet, polite, and didn't bother anyone for anything. Well, the French in the countryside were a bit snotty, but well, yeah they got my vote  And I was even partially conversational in French with a proper accent. Jerks!

I am pretty sure people just assume they are Russian.

I doubt this. Maybe to Foreigners the languages sounmds similar, but after at least 5 minutes of talking/being with polish tourists you can tell that they aren't Russian, because of divverent values, wealth, and way of life. Oh, and we don't pronounce that R as horribilly as the russians, (but we do to though :p )

Look, you come to North America, and most people just see you as just some Eastern European person (aka Russian).

Polish accents are indeed quite pleasant, and different. Most people don't know that though.

Polish tourist tend not to go to Usa and Canada for vacationing.

I wouldn't actually be surprised if that was the case in north America, but Poles vacation to Caribean central america and the mediteranean. I don't think most people would be able to find out we are polish by themselves (but they'd probably be suspcting some kind of non-russian) and that's when they ask and find out. ;)

Close 2nd are Hungarians for refusing to communicate in any known language from planet Earth..

They do that in Croatia too? :p

(around here some just ask me stuff in their weird language and expect me to answer, some even get offended that I can't answer, even though I could help them in English, French, Italian, and maybe German, if only they would bother to speak any of those)

It's cos you can only talk about rugby and nothing else. Rugby is a minority sport in this country, we don't care how long it is since we beat the all-blacks.

strange, i sometimes get the impression that every hungarian knows german... :)

There is no national barrier when it comes to worst tourist, it nearly all depends on what kind of holiday they're taking and why. You've got the types that just come to get drunk, party, and be obnoxious, but on the other hand you've got the types that come to actually see the place and learn something.

That having been said, Germanic peoples (i.e. from the islands, low countries, Germany, and Scandinavia) tend to have a larger proportion in the first category.
