Yes actually, the blue lightsaber would blend into the sand, so Lucas just changed the color to green.

Well ANH skips the whole obtaining a plan, has Han Solo be the one who takes the orphan offplanet on the Millennium Falcon *after* the alien bar and with no new friends (because Han Solo and the legendary Jedi are already accounted for), and Obi-Wan is wielding a lightsaber when Vader slays him. Yes we all know it's a rehash, it's just a better movie too. It has characters and it has a yuge budget that's well spent.

it's all about Abrams not risking a repeat of fan reaction of the kind that formed about nu-Trek . Star Wars people have an entire Stromtrooper legion afterall . And it's like British State Policy or something that VII outdoes IV with like only British newspapers and magazines claiming so .

Probably, i read it in an "Art of Star Wars: Return of the jedi" book i got in the library, i last read it around the year 2000. Back before i accumulated like $300 worth of late fees and stopped going to the library.

I think you can find the original trailer on YouTube where the lightsabre is blue in the Tatooine scenes. I know I've seen it somewhere, so I'd guess it's there.

Around 49 seconds into this trailer, it's Blue:

And you can clearly see that it's blending in with the sky, probably the reason why Blue wasn't used in the final movie.

Interestingly, later in that same trailer, there's a scene from Luke's battle with Vader, and in that part of the trailer, Luke's lightsaber is Green.

That's a mod i would have loved for Jedi Academy. Instead i had to make do with dual Gnome Kyles.
