they have found atlantis!

And considering Plato pulled it from his arse, theres no reason to even consider looking for any artifacts.
Well, according to Plato´s "Timaeus and Critias", the story of Atlantis was conveyed to Solon by Egyptian priests and it is a true story.

How can you prove its a true story? Sounds like rubbish to me.

I cant of course, but you cant prove it is rubbish either, so the search continues.

They've already said the Antarctica was Atlantis. Or rather Atlantis is now Antarctica.

Get boiling water and electric heaters, theres lost cites in them icey hills!

on a serious note, all we have to do is melt a few miles of that ice, then we could see what grand fossils await us.

it wouldn't happen that bad- it'd just raise sealevel a few inches everywhere.

What about that cool underwater city they found at Yonaguni in Japan? That thing looks awesome.

I like the theory about Atlantis being in what is now Antarctica. It would be great if something like that was proven, because it would be exciting. That's why we love these way-out theories.

I love the idea that there was advanced civilisation before 5000 BC that was somehow destroyed but managed to pass knowledge onto the people who ended up building all the megalithic monuments all over the world. I just wish more compelling evidence could be found.

Atlantis could be so anchient that it existed with dinos in the pangea stage.

Antartica {seriously speaking} could have possibly just recently got all iced over. Recently as in the last 5000-6000 years.

Not when they talk about a folkstory called "atlantis" being real. Unless of course its completely different then what it was desribed is by whoever made it up, but then whats the point?

A huge continent never existed in the atlantic, nada, never, get over it.
I never said it did, and I have never for one second believed Atlantis was in the middle of the Atlantic. You misunderstand, completely, entirely, 100%, deal with it.

Perhaps, but I would imagine once it began "drifting" so far south, it began icing over as it got farther from the Equator.

Maybe Antarctica used to be further north.
Not maybe, it was.

Below is a link to a site that has the generally accepted path of continental drift:

How could Egyptians or Greeks go to Antarctica (and return) ?

I think if Atlantis exists then we have already found it (Several different civilization that could be described as advanced at the time). If Atlantis doesn't exist then it is a myth.

How can you find anything hidden under all that ice?

Plus, what about all the evidence from the amazing megalithic monuments all over the world?

Or a giant underwater dome protected by the best superhero EVER!! Maybe one of the suns accursed sunspots/solar flares altered the climate of the Earth and managed to flood out Atlantis and all it's good stuff, along with lots of the human population.

How did the Vikings get to the New World, they used their ships.

I will say this one last time: I NEVER SAID ATLANTIS IS UNDER ANTARCTICA!!!!!

Also, ice melts, Ground Penetrating Radar, take your pick. And I'm not linking all these sites to Atlantis. I believe they all developed the skills required to build these monuments on their own. They also have traders/travelers that journey to other lands to bring in trade goods, surely ideas could've traveled.

What about all the amazing technology they must have had to build all that stuff? Like the portable smelters required to pour molten metal into clamp slots? Or the precise saw cuts in the stones at Tiahuanaco? Or the way that all these megalithic monuments seem to align with each other. Or the similarities between all their mythology? Or the ancient maps that have been found that show the coastline of Antarctica that nobody could have seen unless it was out of the ice?
