DO YA THINK I'M SEXY
Rod Stewart

Sugar, Sugar, mmm Ooh

She sits alone waiting for suggestions
he's so nervous avoiding all the questions.
His lips are dry her heart is gently pounding
don't you just know exactly what they're thinking

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on sugar let me know.
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on honey tell me so.
Tell me so, baby.

He's acting shy looking for an answer,
Come on honey, let's spend the night together,
Now hold on a minute before we go much further,
Give me a dime so I can 'phone my mother,
They catch a cab to his high rise apartment,
At last he can tell her exactly what his heart meant.

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on honey tell me so.
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know.

His heart's beating like a drum
'cos at last he's got his girl home
relax baby now we are alone
Oh

They wake at dawn 'cos all the birds are singing,
Two total strangers but that ain't what they're thinking.
Outside it's cold misty and it's raining,
They got each other neither one's complaining,
He say's I sorry but I'm out of milk and coffee,
Never mind sugar we can watch the early movie.

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on sugar let me know.
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on honey tell me so.
Oh, .... , Sugar

If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know.
If you really, really, really, really need me
just let me know
just reach out and touch me, mmm
If you really want me
just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know
if you, if you, if you really need me
just come on and tell me so

"I Would Be In Love (Anyway)"
frank sinatra

If I lived the past over
Saw today from yesterday
I would be in love
Anyway
If I knew that you'd leave me
If I knew you wouldn't stay
I would be in love
Anyway
Sometimes I think
Think about before
Sometime I think
If I knew then
What I know now
I don't believe I'd ever change
Somehow
Though you'll never be with me
And there are no words to say
I'll still be in love
Anyway
If I knew then
What I know now
I don't believe I'd ever change
Somehow
If I knew then
What I know now
I don't believe I'd ever change
Somehow

just a song that always makes me feel happy.

"Swingin on a Star"
frank sinatra

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a mule

A mule is an animal with long funny ears
He kicks up at anything he hears
His back is brawny - and his brain is weak
He's just plain stupid with a - stubborn streak

And by the way, if you hate to go to school
You may grow up to be a mule

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a pig

A pig is an animal with dirt on his face
His shoes are a terrible disgrace
He ain't got no manners when he eats his food
He's fat and lazy - and extremely rude

But if you don't care a feather or a fig
You may grow up to be a pig

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a fish

A fish won't do anything but swim in a brook
He cant write his name or read a book
And to fool the people is his only thought
Though he slippery - he still gets caught
But then if that sort of life is what you wish
You may grow up to be a fish

And all the monkeys aren't in a zoo
Every day you meet quite a few
So you see it's all up to you
You can be better than you are
You could be swinging on a star

Gone Country
Performed By: Alan Jackson

She been playing that room on the strip for ten years in Vegas
Every night she looks in the mirror but she only ages
She’s been readin’ ‘bout Nashville and all the records
That everybody’s buying
Says “I’m a simple girl myself, grew up on Long Island”
So she packs her bags to try her hand
Says this might be my last chance

First Chorus
She’s gone country, look at them boots
She’s gone country, back to her roots
She’s gone country, a new kind of suit
She’s gone country, here she comes

Well the folk scene’s dead, but he’s holding out in the village
He’s been writing songs, speaking out against wealth and priviledge
He says “I don’t believe in money,
but a man could make himself a killin’
‘Cause some of that stuff don’t sound much different than Dylan
I hear down there it’s changed you see
They’re not as backward as they used to be”

Second Chorus
He’s gone country, look at them boots
He’s gone country, back to his roots
He’s gone country, a new kind of suit
He’s gone country, here he comes

He commutes to LA, but he’s got a house in the valley
But the bills are piling up and the pop scene just ain’t on a rally
He says, “Honey, I’m a serious composer, schooled in voice and composition
But with the crime and the smog these days, this ain’t no place for children
Lord, its sounds to easy, this shouldn’t take long
Be back in the money in no time at all

Repeat Second Chorus

Third Chorus
Yeah, he’s gone country, a new kind of walk
He’s gone country, a new kind of talk
He’s gone country, look at them boots
He’s gone country, oh back to his roots

He’s gone country
He’s gone country
Eveybody’s gone country
Yeah we’ve gone country
The whole world’s gone country

My favorite song? Well, I guess it would have to be "Private investigation", not so much because of the lyrics as much as it is because it's the best song ever written to the guitar - my artistic passion

Dire Straits
Private investigation

It's a mystery to me - the game commences
for the usual fee - plus expenses
confidential information - contained in a diary
this is my investigation - not a public inquiry

I go checking out the reports - digging up the dirt
you get to meet all sorts in this line of work
treachery and treason - there's always an excuse for it
and when I find the reason I still can't get used to it

And what have you got at the end of the day?
what have you got to take away?
a bottle of whisky and a new set of lies
blinds on the windows and a pain behind the eyes

Scarred for life - no compensation
private investigations

"The Ghost Of No One" (feat Randi Laubek)
Kashmir (Eistrup/Tunebjerg/Techau)

The good is yet to come
is what I'm hanging from
With frozen fingers
and one parched eye on
the match box jam below

Still there's something ghastly
on the tiles above me
A persuation to give in
You can't caress me
You cannot catch me
The catch is 22 (2 by 2)

(randi)
Don't fear the ghost of no one
Down here it's always you and me
Safe grounds you can rely on
Saf hands to guide you when we flee

In the cold intangible
my breath is visible
like silver flakes of snow
I'll gaze at glaciers
Trough icy crystals
From this side of the glass

(randi)
Outside the ghost of no one
waits for the cracks to let her in
safe walls you can rely on
I would never let her graze your skin.

Lyrics of my life? Different moments that I am constantly in, but no ONE song.

"Love is careless in it's choosing,
Sweeping over, crossing babies,
Love descends on those defenseless,
Idiot Love will spark the fusion
Inspirations have I none?
Just to touch the flaming dove
All I have is my love of Love
And Love is not loving..."

-David Bowie-

"If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true?"

-Beatles-

"F*ck all ya'll"

-TuPac Shakur-

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS ..
Foreigner

Gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm older

This mountain I must climb
Feels like a world upon my shoulders
Through the clouds I see love shine
It keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I want to know what love is
I want you to show me
I want to feel what love is
I know you can show me

I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
It lookds like love has finally found me

In my life, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life

I want to know what love is
I want you to show me
I want to feel what love is
I know you can show me

I want to know what love is
I want you to show me
I want to feel what love is
I know you can show me

Cherry Bomb
John Cougar Mellencamp

Well I lived on the outskirts of town
In a eight room farmhouse, baby
When my brothers and friends were around
There was always somethin' doin'
Had me a couple of real nice girlfriends
Stopped by to see me every once in while
When I think back about those days
All I can do is sit and smile

That's when a sport was a sport
And groovin' was groovin'
And dancin' meant everything
We were young and we were improvin'
Laughin', laughin' with our friends
Holdin' hands meant somethin' baby
Outside the club "Cherry Bomb"
Our hearts were really thumpin'
Say yeah yeah yeah
Say yeah yeah yeah

The winter days they last forever
But the weekends went by so quick
Went ridin' around this little country town
We were goin' nuts, girl, out in the sticks
One night, me with my big mouth
A couple guys had to put me in my place
When I see those guys these days
We just laugh and say do you remember when

Chorus

Say yeah yeah yeah
Say yeah yeah yeah

Seventeen has turned thirty-five
I'm suprised that we're still livin'
If we've done any wrong
I hope that we're forgiven
Got a few kids of my own
And some days I still don't know what to do
I hope that they're not laughin' too loud
When they hear me talkin'
Like this to you

Chorus

Should Have Been A Cowboy
Toby Keith

I bet you've never heard ole Marshall Dillion say
Miss Kitty have you ever thought of running away
Settling down will you marry me
If I asked you twice and begged you pretty please
She'd of said Yes in a New York minute
They never tied the knot
His heart wasn't in it
Stole a kiss as he road away
He never hung his hat up at Kitty's place

I should've been a Cowboy
I should'be learned to rope and ride
Wearing my six-shooter riding by pony on a cattle drive
Stealing the young girl's hearts
Just like Gene and Roy
Singing those campfire songs
I should've been a cowboy

I might of had a side kick with a funny name
Running wild through the hills chasing Jesse James
Ending up on the brink of danger
Riding shotgun for the Texas Rangers
Go west yound man, haven't you been told
California's full of whisky, women and gold
Sleeping out all night beneath the Texas stars
Dream in my eye and a prayer in my heart

I should've been a Cowboy
I should'be learned to rope and ride
Wearing my six-shooter riding by pony on a cattle drive
Stealing the young girl's hearts
Just like Gene and Roy
Singing those campfire songs
I should've been a cowboy

The Wall (Kansas)

I'm woven in a fantasy, I can't believe the things I see
The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall
And with each passing day I feel a little more like something dear was lost
It rises now before me, a dark and silent barrier between,
All I am, and all that I would ever want to be
It's just a travesty, towering, marking off the boundaries my spirit would erase

To pass beyond is what I seek, I fear that I may be too weak
And those are few who've seen it through to glimpse the other side,
The promised land is waiting like a maiden that is soon to be a bride
The moment is a masterpiece, the weight of indecision's in the air
It's standing there, the symbol and the sum of all that's me
It's just a travesty, towering, blocking out the light and blinding me
I want to see

Gold and diamonds cast a spell, it's not for me I know it well
The treasures that I seek are waiting on the other side
There's more that I can measure in the treasure of the love that I can find
And though it's always been with me, I must tear down the Wall and let it be
All I am, and all that I was ever meant to be, in harmony
Shining true and smiling back at all who wait to cross
THERE IS NO LOSS

In Lonesome Dove
Written by: Garth Brooks, Cynthia Limbaugh

She was a girl on a wagon train
Headed west across the plains
The train got lost in a summer storm
They couldn't move west and they couldn't go home
Then she saw him ridin' through the rain
He took charge of the wagons and he saved the train
And she looked down and her heart was gone
The train went west but she stayed on
In Lonesome Dove

A farmer's daughter with a gentle hand
A blooming rose in a bed of sand
She loved the man who wore a star
A Texas Ranger known near and far
So they got married and they had a child
But times were tough and the West was wild
So it was no surprise the day she learned
That her Texas man would not return
To Lonesome Dove

Back to back with the Rio Grande
A Christian woman in the devil's land
She learned the language and she learned to fight
But she never learned how to beat the lonely nights
In Lonesome Dove, Lonesome Dove

She watched her boy grow into a man
He had an angel's heart and the devil's hand
He wore his star for all to see
He was a Texas lawman legacy
The one day word blew into town
It seemed the men that shot his father down
Had robbed a bank in Cherico
The only thing 'tween them and Mexico
Was Lonesome Dove

The shadows stretched across the land
As the shots rang out down the Rio Grande
And when the smoke had finally cleared the street
The men lay at the ranger's feet
But legend tells to this very day
That shots were comin' from an alleyway
Though no one knows who held the gun
There ain't no doubt if you ask someone
In Lonesome Dove

Back to back with the Rio Grande
A Christian woman in the devil's land
She learned the language and she learned to fight
But she never learned how to beat the lonely nights
In Lonesome Dove, Lonesome Dove

"Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat" (Bob Dylan)

I see you got your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat
I see you got your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat
Well you must tell me baby how your head feels under something like that
your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat

Well you look so pretty in it, can I jump on it sometime?
I just wanna see if it's that really expensive kind
You know it balances on your head just like a mattress balances on a bottle of wine
your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat

Well if you wanna see the sunrise, well honey I know where
We'll go see it sometime, we'll both just sit there and stare
Me with my belt wrapped round my head, and you just sittin there
In your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat

Well your doctor said I shouldn't see you, bad for your health he said
Well I disobeyed his orders, went to see you and found HIM there instead
Well I don't mind you cheatin on me but I sure wish he'd get that off his head
Your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat

Well I see you have a new boyfriend, no I've never seen him before
But I saw you makin love with him, you forgot to close the garage door
You may think he loves you for your money, but I know what he really loves you for
It's your brand new leopard-skin pillbox hat

--Bob Dylan (my other favorite songwriter)

Here then are a couple for me

This first one is written with one person in mind. Sean, you bastard :p

ARTIST: Simon and Garfunkel
TITLE: I Am a Rock

A winter's day in a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow

I am a rock, I am an island

I've built walls, a fortress deep and mighty
That none may penetrate
I have no need for friendship, friendship causes pain
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain

I am a rock, I am an island

Don't talk of love, well I've heard the word before
It's sleeping in my memory
I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died
If I'd never loved, I never would have cried

I am a rock, I am an island

I have my books and my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armor
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me

I am a rock, I am an island
And a rock feels no pain
And an island never cries

Just a point of order for the record, as we say in the antipodes. :)

And this, in turn, is for someone out there. M**********r

What's This Life For?
Hurray for a child that makes it through

If there's any way, because the answer lies in you

Their laid to rest, before they know just what to do

Their souls are lost, because they could never find

What's this life for

I see your soul it's kind of gray

I see your heart, you look away

You see my wrist, I know your pain

I know your purpose on your plane

Don't say a last prayer, because you could never find

What's this life for

But they ain't here anymore

Don't have to settle the score

Cause we all live under the reign of one king

TRACKS OF MY TEARS
William Robinson, Marv Tarplin, Warren Moore

People say I'm the life of the party
'Cause I tell a joke or two
Although I might be laughing loud and hearty
Deep inside I'm blue

So take a good look at my face
You know my smile looks out of place
If you look closer it's easy to trace
The tracks of my tears

I need you...
Need you

Since you left me if you see me with another girl
Looking like I'm having fun
Although she may be cute, she's just a substitute
'Cause you're the permanent one

So take a good look at my face
You know my smile looks out of place
If you look closer it's easy to trace
The tracks of my tears

Outside I'm masquerading
Inside my hope is fading
I'm just a clown since you put me down
My smile is my make up
I wear since my break-up with you

Baby, take a good look at my face
You know my smile looks out of place
If you look closer it's easy to trace
The tracks of my tears

Check out the groovy guitar work on this track........

Another Bob Dylan song:

"Maggie's Farm"

I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.
No, I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.
Well, I wake in the morning,
Fold my hands and pray for rain.
I got a head full of ideas
That are drivin' me insane.
It's a shame the way she makes me scrub the floor.
I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.

I ain't gonna work for Maggie's brother no more.
No, I ain't gonna work for Maggie's brother no more.
Well, he hands you a nickel,
He hands you a dime,
He asks you with a grin
If you're havin' a good time,
Then he fines you every time you slam the door.
I ain't gonna work for Maggie's brother no more.

I ain't gonna work for Maggie's pa no more.
No, I ain't gonna work for Maggie's pa no more.
Well, he puts his cigar
Out in your face just for kicks.
His bedroom window
It is made out of bricks.
The National Guard stands around his door.
Ah, I ain't gonna work for Maggie's pa no more.

I ain't gonna work for Maggie's ma no more.
No, I ain't gonna work for Maggie's ma no more.
Well, she talks to all the servants
About man and God and law.
Everybody says
She's the brains behind pa.
She's sixty-eight, but she says she's twenty-four.
I ain't gonna work for Maggie's ma no more.

I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.
No, I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.
Well, I try my best
To be just like I am,
But everybody wants you
To be just like them.
They sing while you slave and I just get bored.
I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.

Holy cow, Slowwhand, I haven't heard Londsome Dove in a long time. I love Garth Brooks.

Angel Boy
performed by Tim McGraw

My mother said, "There's only one way,
"Sweet angel boy, narrow and straight,"
Time it has passed, teachings they fade
Now her angel boy has gone astray.

I've held the hand of the devil, felt his breath on my skin,
Dip me into the water, wash me again.
Can I still be forgiven for all of the things?
Or have I gone too far now, have I lost my wings?

I found a priest, I spoke my mind
Asked if I'd sinned one too many times.
He said, "My son, you're only a man,"
Then I said, "Sir, you don't understand,

"I've held the hand of the devil, felt his breath on my skin,
"Dip me into the water, wash me again.
"Can I still be forgiven for all of the things?
"Or have I gone too far now, have I lost my wings?"

God help us all for what we have done,
We've lost our way, we can't find the sun.
We've made out beds, we've sealed our fate.
Is there still time, or is it too late?

We've held the hand of th devil, felt his breath on our skin,
Dip us into the water, wash us again.
Can we still be forgiven for all of these things?
Or have we gone too far now have we lost our wings?

Washington Avenue
written and performed by Pat Green

Oh, when the rain falls on Washington Avenue
We close our eyes and hold our breath.
And that's when I met you, so many years ago.
I fell in love, ain't forgot yet.

You make the time go by just like it never happened.
I can feel your love down in my soul.
So take my heart, take my life if you want to.
'Cause without you, I don't need them at all.

So goodnight. Dream of me while you're sleeping.
Yes, and kiss me, when you're leaving with the dawn.

You make the time go by just like it never happened.
I can feel your love down in my soul.
So take my heart, take my life if you want to.
'Cause without you, I don't need them at all.

Yes we'll dance, dance our way through our life,
And remember all the rain on Washington Avenue.

This is a good song that describes, well, something that has to do with me I guess-

Carry On
performed by Pat Green

Baby's just a little bit tired of the city,
Billboards and BS got her down.
Seems like she needs a little Hill Country,
A Little back-roads driving, little bit of that old top down.

Yeah, everybodys got to get away sometime,
Forget about yourself for a while.
Seems to me that all you need
Is a ragtop car and a ride with me.
Ok, alright. Just might try to get a little high tonight
Ok, alright. Carry on.

Old Walt Wilkins lives up in Nashville.
You know his eyes have seen the miles.
Walt, why don't you jump in Jim T.'s caddy
Come down to Texas and drink with me awhile?

Yeah, everybody's got to get away sometime
Forget about yourself for a while.
We'll go down to El Arryo's.
Have some tacos and beer, yeah, and let ourselves go.
Ok, alright. Just might try to get it right tonight.
Ok, alright. Carry on, yeah.

Life will make sure you've got your troubles.
Life will make sure you work too hard.
Ain't nobody that don't get tired
Watching troubles pile up big in their own backyard.

Sometimes you've got to grab your world with your own bare hands
Set it spinnin' on a course all your own.
Take yourself a big bag for your shoulder
Find your self some good times and bring 'um on back home.

Yeah, everybody's got to get away sometime
Forget about yourself for a while.
Live your whole life upon a shelf,
You got no one to blame but your own d*mn self.
Ok, alright. Heaven only knows what's gonna happen tonight,
Ok, alright. Carry on, yeah.

Searching my old memory, I came across this song. To me it seems appropriate for now. There are some who might question that. And there are others who might object on the grounds that I am not American. But I have family and good friends in New York and elsewhere in America, and my wife is 1/16 Cherokee.

And besides, it's one of the most powerful songs of all time.

SOLDIER BLUE
Buffy Sainte-Marie (1971)

I look out and I see a land
Young and lovely hard and strong
For 50,000 years we've danced her praises
Prayed our thanks and we've just begun
Yes, yes

This this is my country
Young and growing
free and flowing sea to sea
Yes this is my country
Ripe and bearing miracles
in every pond and tree

Her spirit walks the high country
giving free wild samples
and setting an example how to give
Yes this is my countrry
Retching and turning
She's like a baby learning how to live.

I can stand upon a hill at dawn
look all around me
Feel her surround me
Soldier Blue
Can't you see her life has just begun
It's beating inside us
Telling us she's here to guide us.

Ooo
Soldier Blue, Soldier Blue
Can't you see that there's another way to love her

Yes this is my country
I sprang from her and I'm
learning how to count upon her
Tall trees and the corn is high country
Yes I love her and I'm
learning how to take care of her

When the news stories get me down
I take a drink of freedom to think of
North America from toe to crown
It's never long before
I know just why I belong here

Soldier Blue, Soldier Blue
Can't you see that there's another way to love her.

Breathe
FAITH HILL

I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way
I watch the sunlight dance across your face
And I've never been this swept away
All my thoughts seem to settle on the breeze
When I'm lying wrapped in your arms
The whole world just fades away
The only thing I hear
Is the beating of your heart

Cause I can feel you breathe
It's washing over me
Suddenly I'm melting into you
There's nothing left to prove
Baby all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn't that the way
That love's supposed to be?
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe..

In a way I know my heart is waking up
As all the walls come tumbling down
Closer than I've ever felt before
And I know and you know
There's no need for words right now

Cause I can feel you breathe
It's washing over me
Suddenly I'm melting into you
There's nothing left to prove
Baby all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn't that the way
That love's supposed to be?
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn't that the way
That love's supposed to be?
I can feel you breathe
Just breathe

I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way
