Tim Tebow Super Bowl Ad: Glad He Wasn't Aborted?

I'll let Shane do that for me:

Is it really so difficult to address the issues instead of just about everything else?

I have addressed the issues along with the incorrect use of the red herring comment. Try reading my posts again.

I did say I respect Tebow for doing what he believes in.

I dont think it will hurt his NFL career. In fact, I think it could have opposite that effect.

I also said I dont think his commercial is that effective at convincing anyone.

Did you really miss those comments?

So the answer is ... yes. It really is that difficult for you to address the issues instead of repeatedly trying to attack someone's credibility instead.

I didnt attack your credibility. I mentioned you used a term incorrectly. Aside from a little frustation because you make the error so often, I even mentioned it fairly politely without any insult given or implied. Why do you consider any correction or criticism an automatic attack on your credibility?

Many cornerbacks looking to pad their interception stats in the next couple of seasons are certainly glad he wasn't aborted.

Fans of grown men crying are glad Tearbow wasn't aborted.

I dont see how you can continue this line of reasoning and retain one whit of credibility around here.....

And to think none of that would have happened if not for a decision his mother made nearly 23 years ago.

That is the message of a controversial new ad starring Tebow and his mother, Pam. Paid for by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, the ad tells the story of Bob and Pam Tebow, who was pregnant with their fifth child when the couple travelled to the Philippines on a missionary trip.

While there, Pam contracted amoebic dysentery and the medicines used for her recovery threatened her unborn fetus. Doctors advised her to abort the fetus. Pam ignored their advice and gave birth on Aug. 14, 1987, to a baby boy. That boy was Tim Tebow.

This is my favorite argument in the pro-life argument. It's not like the doctors were about to strap you down and perform the abortion without your consent, but angels came down and saved you from them. It's called pro-choice for a reason. (I know you made this point earlier, Cleo)

As for Tebow himself. His prospects as a starting quarterback weren't good to start with. A lot of scouting reports are putting him in a bad light.

Uhm. Thats an entirely different thread. Where in this thread did I attack your credibility?

And fwiw, it took weeks and multiple posts from you in that particular thread making the same false accusation over and over again with no substantive proof what-so-ever to get to that point where I finally did question the effect of maintaining that facade would have on your credibility. Assuming you even care about something like that.

Meh, he can say whatever he wants. Who cares? As long as this group isn't going to be whining at whatever pro-choice ad someone decides to run next year.

Actually, there will probably be something they can whine at this year. I heard they may run a ad from a homosexual only dating website. Mancrunch or something like that.

That guy running for governor in South Carolina is probably bitter about all the free lunches Tebow got from the state-run institution. Shows that not aborting can cause economic consequences to the taxpayer.

I really wish to God you would learn to at least accurately use the terms you bandy about so without hardly a thought.

I really wish to God you would learn to at least accurately whine without a thought about terms you apparently don't know what they mean.

Ah, now it's more of an appeal to authority.

But I'm glad to see you are studying up on logical fallacies. Perhaps you won't make so many in the future.

Someones scrambling. And it doesnt really take studying up to recognize that not everything is a red herring or an irony.

So this means we are going to continue to see logical fallacies in the future?

Oh, sweet irony!

You used irony wrong :(

You used "wrong" wrong ... again.

I've only been hearing about Tebow for the past few months since I've been in Florida and I am already sick of him. I don't any reason why he shouldn't be able to do this legally, but he's still kind of being a prick.

So his mother ignored doctor's advice, chose to keep him, and got lucky on having a healthy child. Conveniently they're not going to show you a Celebrate family, celebrate life ad where the doctors' advised abortion, the mother chose to keep the fetus, and ended up with complications resulting in death.
