Tastes are subjective, of course. It's been 5 years since I had to get away from regular sugar (haven't eliminated it completely, but I've cut down and made substitutions).
So for 5 years I've used artificial sweeteners, and I still hate it. Though I'll admit it did come in handy when I realized that the old case of diet Coke I'd forgotten about could still be drunk. It didn't have a lot of taste, though it had an acceptable amount of fizz left. Pour it into a glass, add a packet of Sugar Twin, stir, and drink. It wasn't great, but better than nothing (I don't drink coffee, so I need my caffeine somewhere).
Even before the diabetes diagnosis I was getting away from salt on French fries. Ketchup and pepper works great.
