Tom Cruise: Just when you thought he couldn't get any crazier...

While expecting Xenu is microscopically less crazy than expecting the Rapture, most people don't build bunkers for that. Still, a bunker can have other uses.

Don't forget other doomsday scenarios such as the "Cuban Missile Crisis" when many people build bomb shelters in fear of Nuclear Attack by Communist Nations.;)

It never ends and I am afraid that as long as people live in fear, there will always be more blind-devotion of false truths.

You acquitted yourself quite well here. Obviously, the Rapture is not some fringe belief, but finds plenty of support among Christians, including a majority of American Christians. :king:

Hooray for arguments from popularity!

I don't believe in the Rapture, and made no attempt to defend a belief in it. Really. Just click on the red and yellow arrows to review the proper context of my post. How, exactly, did I make an argument from popularity?

Never mind. I retreived the original discussion myself. Don't say I never helped you. ;)

How is this [Tom's bunker] crazier than believing in the Rapture?

Cheesy the Wiz replied:
I wasn't aware that the Rapture was a part of mainstream Christian Theology, much less Eschatology. Either way it's not on topic.

Stewbert 08 answered:
55% of Americans believe in it. Over 65 million copies of the Left Behind books have been sold. Most of the Republican current and former leadership - Bill Frist, Mitch McConnell, Rick Santorum, Jon Kyl, Dennis Hastert, Roy Blunt etc. - believe in it.

Of course, Xennu doesn't have internet access and won't know where to look for him...

So, is Tom related to Michael Jackson in any way?

I don't believe the article from the opening post. Especially important are these parts:

Tom Cruise is allegedly planning to build a $10 million bunker underneath in preparation for the end of the world.

The 'Top Gun' star, who is a devout follower of Scientology, is said to believe evil intergalactic ruler Xenu will attack Earth and so has designed a place to hide underneath his Colorado mansion.

A source told America's Star magazine: "Tom is planning to build a $10 million bunker under his Telluride estate.
Scientologists don't acknowledge that Xenu is part of their religion. Ask a Scientologist about Xenu, and he'll tell you it's a lie. Tell you what. Next time I meet a Scientologist, I'll ask him.

Also, according to Scientology, Xenu is already dead, as another poster in this thread has pointed out.

The source of the information is "a source". So somebody just made it up.

You make it sound like being crazy is a bad thing, Mr. Eyes. Embrace the chaos.

:goodjob: I mean, really, who wouldn't like to have an awesome bunker in his house.

Slightly OT: Didn't the people who own Wal-Mart built a bunker for their family, for more earthly reasons, I suppose?

Israelis don't count, you guys have an actual use for it!
We're making fun of crazy religious nuts here!

Xenu is a big part of Scientology beliefs - He's the guy who trapped all those alien souls in the volcanos on Earth - the source of the thetans that now plague or bodies.

Without Xenu, this story wouldn't make sense.

You're assuming that Scientologists actually publically acknowledge that they believe all of these things, and as far as I have seen, they don't publically acknowledge any of that.

If it matters, I just went to www.scientology.com and searched for Xenu. It returned 0 results.

There are things that Scientologists believe that are announced publically, and things that are kept private. The Xenu story is also something that is only told to Scientologists after they have reached a certain point in Scientology.

Here, in Mozambique, you can feed 27400 persons during 1 year with this kind of money.
If he buys food/water for refugees, it goes up to 35000 people that can be SAVED for a full year.

Tell me now: what kind of respect can you have for sellfish people like this?...
Disgusting.

If he comes we should give him the coordinates to his bunker.

If Xenu shows up ready to kick some butt and break some stuff, Ima be like "Dude, I totally know exactly where he is, I'll take you to him".
