TOMO2 - Semi-OCC

150BC (0): Looks good. I'll be building a little military. Knight's Templar also sounds like a good idea. I make Adrianople work another forest, and switch Caesarea to Harbor.

IT: Constantinople: Barracks --> Library

Lose our wines, but we don't need them. Get them back for Currency anyway.

130BC (1): This is probably :smoke:, but I turn research on max, on Feudalism. I figure that we will have to research this tech since it's so expensive to buy.

IT: The people love me.

110BC (2): Shinjite... la la, la la, la la...

IT: Constantinople: Library --> Temple. Research time falls from 21 turns to 15 turns.

90BC (3):

70BC (4):

IT: Lagash: The Great Wall --> ???

50BC (5):

IT: Constantinople: Temple --> Horseman

30BC (6): :sleep:

IT: Caesarea: Harbor --> Library

10BC (7): Lose some luxes and get them back for some outdated techs.

IT: Constantinople: Horseman --> Horseman

10AD (8): Bombard a German coast with a Dromon just to see the cool animation. Fails.

IT: Brennus demands that we give him Currency. Yeah, sure, like whatever.

And "Blessed be", replies he. :crazyeye:

IT: I'm SORRY I'm SSOOORRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:

I forgot we had the Great Library!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30AD (9): *sobs*

IT: Constantinople: Horseman --> Horseman

50AD (10): Spot a German galley. Must kill.

70AD (11): German galley didn't follow me... Upgrade the curragh.

IT: Alliance versus Germans ends. Golden Age ends.

Constantinople: Horseman --> Horseman
Adrianople: Dromon --> Library

90AD (12): Woohoo! Dromon hits road!

IT: THe people love me although I just lost a Dromon.

110AD (13): Lose another Dromon attacking a galley. :mad:

IT: Learn Republic.

Constantinople: Horseman --> Horseman

130AD (14): Call a revolution and draw two turns. :)

IT: The Gauls don't like the Iroquois.

150AD (15): Vet Dromon attacks German galley. Loses without leaving a mark. :mad:

Scratch that "got it". looks like this one belongs to the Admiral.

@Tomoyo
Wha' fo' you worried about Great Library? I never shut off research when I have it, 'cause I hate depending on the whims of some stoopid confuser....

Not that I'm going to pick up the save but I am an idiot where was the save hidden??
And what's up with your navy Cmdr. T?? I think the Admiral needs to step in and rectify that situation on the double!

O/T
Cmdr T. did you get a snow day at school and civ all day???
:xmas: I like how this one snows that's why I used it...

To find the save, go to upload file. View uploads nine then scroll through the list back to the time Cmdr T posted.

We drew a nice short anarchy (it ended right after 160). I picked Feudalism of course. :crazyeye: Changed Constantinople to KT in 170 after we learn Chiv via Glib. Rush library in Adrianople to keep the cash under control. Gil learns Theo. Dyes deal ends. Get RoP straight up with Gil (nobody was planning to attack him right?). Wines deal evaporates after 230. After 260 Otto vants to talk. We can have peace for just 200g. No. 280, the year of the great idiot trading boom. Pay attention there will be a homework assignment. Buy ivory from China for Lit. Buy wines from Monte for 6gpt. The following IT, Someone else learned Theo and just about all know Eng. Rush Lib at Caesarea and rax at Ardianople in 290.

Here's the homework. We were building KT at Constaninople. I switched that build to Zeus which is still on the table. Zeus is due in 2. The AI's are all building KT. Next player will need to explore where the KT is being built and if we have a shot at both Zeus and KT.

Should probably get some boats in the water. BTW :joke: about Feudalism, we're a Rep. :)

Here's the unhidden save: http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads9/Tomo2_idiot_300_AD.SAV

Waves everyone off "I got it!"
I'll be back after I look at the save and will check on the others for their capabilities. Do we have any clue what decade they started their builds?

It seems worth the gambit for KT in 7. Unless there's a cascade from Sun Tzu it's ours. We still may get even with a cascade.
The biggest city building KT is Tlate:lol:co at 16 (corrupted?) shields and Umma has 14 shields.
Also we should start researching now-wah. I think we should go to max on invention, education will likely be learned on my turn. Thoughts?

Invention sounds good. We'll get Education for free anyway.

@ whomp, the AI's all started KT during my set. Note I had been building KT for a few turns before I switched to Zeus. We have the money, you can establish whatever embassies you need to and investigate cities. KT will probably take at least 12 after Zeus, thus the homework.

@ tomoyo - where did you hide the link? I've been playing and can't find it. My thinking is too idiotic and linear...

Wish list: 4 dromons to start the GA or did we do that already? Not to beat a dead horse, but remember dromons have the lethal bombard (as I learned in CVN2 or CVN3)

@AK: Under the last :mad: smilie. ;)

I inherited the game in a Golden Age, and it ended on my turns too. I think we got it from TGL.

Pre Turn Calculate the chances on KT. It’s done and done so I switch to KT. We will get there first.
IBT Hiawatha asks us to exit.
1. 310 zzz
IBT spices, silks, furs and gems gonzo…
2. 320 Constantinople pop is very demanding. Dial up Henry furs, silks and gems for 20gpt. Sums are educated. Can get spices from Brennus. Wait.
Sci to 50%.
IBT Henry starts Sistine and declares on Brennus. Our island gets cultured. Chinese start SoZ in Beijing Celts start Sun Tzu
3. 330 zzz
IBT Hiawatha and Brennus smoke the peace pipe. Aztecs and Sums MA v Germs. Aztecs, Germs and Celts start Sistine. Celts start KT.
4. 340 zzz
IBT zzz
5. 350 Establish embassy in Beijing for 67g. Being an idiot forgot to take a snapshot. SoZ due in 8. Drag.
IBT zzz
6. 360 zzz
IBT Sums and Iroq MA vs Germs. We need to get us some of that action.

kt.JPG

7. 370 KT--> dromon 10 for SoZ. Celts and Germs move Sun Tzu, Germs and Iroq move Sistine.
IBT zzz
8. 380 buy a worker from Aztecs for 120. Ports are educated. Bomb a elite germ galley 1hp gone.
IBT He goes in for repairs but 3 others appear. Aztecs and Sums start Leos.
9. 390 We are educated. No cash available for a trades.
IBT Celts move Sistine again.
10. 400 Dromon--> Dromon Constantinople people are awfully demanding. Call Brennus and get spices for engineering. invention just dropped to 7 as we are down on 4 AI. We can trade at 25 gpt or research 7 more.

Bomb 2 hp off Germ galley. That's her in yellow...or a square right there.

germ_galleys.JPG

Summary
In hindsight I may have been able to pull off both SoZ and KT but KT would've been questionable with all the wonder building going on and I didn't expect the Chinese to start up SoZ.

I didn’t think we wanted to feed the AI with our gpt on invention so I will leave that up to Bede. I started the dromon fleet and Bede will need to rename the dromons because I am an idiot and don’t know how. Can we name one SS Juicy? It's my boat's name...

Got it.

Off to war with our shiny crusaders and a couple of horsies....

Built some more ships, bought some iron, trained some knights built a university in Connie and a courthouse in Adrianople.

Apply some of my own thinking here and buy Invention from Sumeria for a pretty good discount from total research cost. (20%)

tomo02_400_01.jpg

Made a deal with the Celts for Iron :smoke:

tomo02_420_01.jpg

And should have thrown some money in as he later screwed us for 32g which I didn't want to give him as I was putting the heat on Banking.

And ended up at war with the Celts who were supplying our iron.

Lots of wonders completed (SunT and Copernicus in Azteca, Sistines in Happy Hiawatha Land, Leo's in Sumer and SoZ in China) and started (Magellan's and Bach almost everywhere that can).

Maps are on sale so keep trading til we get a complete world map from somebody.

We could invite the Iro to fight the Celts for horses but it looks like Hiaiwatha has taken a beating from the Celts in the past.

We might want to launach an invasion against the Celts at Cattaruagus (an iron source), though we probably wouldn't hold it.

Looks like Longbows and trebs are the order of the day. We really do need to kick over a can of whoop to get back in the hunt here though.

Tomoyo <-- on deck
Admiral Kutzov
Whomp
Bede <-- Just played
Cuivienen <-- UP

Looks like Cuivienen is up, but my money is on Tomoyo.

CVN's got some type of test or is on a school trip to Nevada to view Area 61 or something (wish i coulda done stuff like that)

Ack, I've been rather absorbed into other things recently, so my avatar changing is off schedule...

I'll get it tomorrow afternoon if CVN doesn't pop in.

SAT's tomorrow. New essay thingy I heard. Soooo happy I didn't have to do that. My money's on Tomoyo.

Whilst Cuivienen and company were taking the SAT, I was preparing for it. :crazyeye:

Anyways, got it.
