TOMO2 - Semi-OCC

No active deals AK.

I think we would have to switch to war settler at Caesarea in 5 because of the Iroq. capital being so close to Grand River but this is very doable.

As well they are on our little island which we would take and keep. We could hurry the knight at Adrianople for 152 and there's a horseman in Adrianoble that could be upgraded, a bow, and two knights on the caravel right there. Then start a settler (or I could change it to a settler but that would give up 6 shields which doesn't make much sense to me).

My thoughts are to dispatch 4-5 dromons to pick up some troops. There are 4 crusaders, 2 knights, a bow and whatever else gets cooked up in between at the capital. Bring them back to Cataragea (6 turns in each direction)where we have 6 knights and 2 crusaders already so I could probably start on them at turn 9 or 10. Earlier? Should I fill the boats and let Bede do the warring? He be really good at dat.

Your plan sounds good to me. I would not upgrade any Dromons because I want to keep the lethal sea bombard. I say start on the Iros once most of our troops are in position.

No way on dromons. They'll be sinking frigate escorts before you know it.
I think I will get within a couple turns of the destination and launch from there.

sounds well thought out. Did I just use proper grammar? Oh shi*, editing.

Seriously, whomp, go as you put out the plan. Bede will compensate if needed.

BTW - the friar's getting old :bday:

IBT Carrack sinks a Monty caravel. A Port warrior attacks something in Temuin :crazyeye: Sums start Smith’s and Newts, Celts and Iroq start Smith’s.
860 zzz
IBT 2 more carracks appear near Monty
870 zzz
IBT see two carracks sink vs. a Az caravel goes elite.
890 zzz
IBT Germs and Celts smoke peace pipe. Iroq and Sums MA vs Germs….:hmmm:
900 Pick up at Constantinople. SS Tomoyo waits for settler.
910 Zzz
IBT 4 carracks drop off a musket and MI and they attack at Temuin and they both lose :crazyeye: Maybe we should've gone after the Ports. Not so smart.
920 Load 2nd settler
IBT Another MI loses at Temuin
930 Oops hit the wrong button and SS Tomoyo goes south instead of east. Germs get econ and can be traded straight for chem. Don’t need it.
IBT YES! Our target Grand River finishes Smith’s. Can we keep it?
Gil increases dyes to 7gpt and 6g. Sum frigs head to Berlin.
940 Settler lands at Cataragea
IBT Port archer, warrior and spear at Tlacopan :crazyeye:. Renew wines at same 6gpt but add 14g to Aztecs. More Sum frigs. Sums change to Newtons and finish it in Sumer.
950 We are in place and I’ll leave it to Bede whether he starts up before the IBT.
I even added a pic!

Good job Whomp!

I trust Brother Bede with this. Just hope he's not having a hangover. :D

Bede should have some firepower to work with. The Smith's thing is wow! What should we do there?

O/T Cuivienen since you've played a pbem are you going to help Cmdr. T and I beat the Russians?

lurker's comment: If your SOD attacks from the Southern mountain they can attack Grand River on the same turn you declare war.

Hangover done. Got it. Play tomorrow. Somehow I seem to have lost a day in here.

I not be so good at dat this time.

950AD

:hmm: Hiawatha has gone industrial, so we will probbal be facing rifles with knights and our "pikes with attitude" and no artillery to speak of. Stick my nose over the mountain at Grand River and there is a spearman sticking out over the smokestacks. :D

Sell Chemistry to Bismarck for Printing Press and some cash and try and squeeze a few more dinar out of map trades. Not a lot but get a few.

And Crusaders carry broadswords, not sabres, only hussars and naval officers carry sabres.

After recon of the Iroquois cities position the strike force of knights and crusaders above the city of Grand River (why do we have no trebs?)

tom02_960_00.jpg

And put some skirmishers at the biggest town on the out island. The Aztec Cavalry at Tamuin does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

tom02_960_01.jpg

And the Iroquois start Shakespeare's Theater in Salamanca and the Germans drop off a knight at Kahnawake. Thanks for the support Otto.

And in 970 the time has come to carry the Iroquois off the stage. Grand River falls which brings spices into our marketplaces and we incur no casualties.

tom02_970_00.jpg

Caughnawaga is a little tougher, the spears kill a knight and retreat another.

The Iroquois counter attack of two longbows kills a wounded knight at the gates of Grand River.

Portugese make a landing at Tamuin and three Aztec cavalry are not enough to finish them. There are still two Porto archers in the field.

In 980 a treb is produced at Caesarea and joins the seige of Caughnawaga.

Cleaning up the Iroquois counter attack produces Justininan who forms a Crusader army but a Crusader is lost in an attack on an Iro spear.

tom02_980_00.jpg

Moving forward to Salamanca shows a pike inthe garrison yet Hiawatha has no iron.

Aztecs kill the two Portugese archers at Tamuin. Two Aztecs longbows combine to retreat then kill a knight on the road to Salamanca.

In 990 Justinian's Legion forms and two crusaders join up. They are covering the mountain pass between Grand River and Cataragea.

tom02_990_00.jpg

Our advance is stalled by the defenses of Salamanca. Six attacks kills only three defenders, only two attackers are unscathed. One crusader dies to a rSpear.

Grand River flips back to the Iroquois and we lose a wounded eKnight.

In 1000 shift some troops around to cover the wounded at Salamanca and fail once again to take Caughnagawa.

In 1010 retreat from both Caughnagawa and Salamanca and don't even try to recapture Grand River.

Ten-twenty and ten-thirty are hunker down and heal time. The Iroquois have four longbows at the gates of Cataragea and another flying a solo mission on the out island.

In 1040 the Iroquois ally with the Aztecs against us. We lose the wines, the cities riot and four Aztec cavalrymen show up at the gates of Adrianople. Adrianople and Caesarea will be green soon so I give the cities to Henry and buy the horses back for 7gpt, less than what it was costing us to support those two towns.

Spend 1050 wondering who to invite to the war and decide no one. Spend some gold with China to get our ivory back but it is not enough to do us any good and luxury impost stays at 10%. Rush a treb at Cataragea. We can probably start the march on Salamanca next. Trying to capture and hold Grand River before knocking the Iro capitol out is just not a good idea. With Salamanca out of the picture maybe then we can turn our attention to Grand River and claim Smith's and hold it.

What I am afraid of right now are the Celts. They join the fight on the wrong side and we no longer in tall cotton.

Hiawatha will talk.

naval officers carry sabres
Idiot naval officers carry cutlasses. :)

Doesn't sound like we have anything to trade but maps. Would be nice to entangle Otto, Gil and Mao in the conflict on our side. Glad I'm not up. Blame it on the hangover.

And why is being in tall cotton good?

We can certainly try to pit them against the Aztecs but it will just make it harder to get the resources from Azteca when the time comes. If we can finish the Iroquois war we will have another base of operations, but without horses.....

And tall cotton is good because tall cotton is good....

Is that like being long tall cabbage?
Sorry about the buchets...I wanted to get a war settler in your hands.

:bump: Et tu, Cuivienen?

And tall cotton is good because tall cotton is good....
Now I'm really confused. Is this like a long tall woman in a short dress?

Yo CVN, SATs are over, you passed. The invites are in mail to you. Go pull a rabbit out of a hat.

WIth legs all the way to the ground, kinda like my third wife....

Nope. You're up Cvn. Here's a lineup.
Tomoyo --> on deck
Admiral Kutzov
Whomp
Bede--> just went
Cuivienen--> up

I guess I should stop reading the roster on the front page; this one is completely different. Got it, then, and sorry for the delay.
