Yes those are Civ I (dos) units.
First off to do this in PSP you need to gather the units. Now you can do it the old fashioned way and shift+Prt Scrn them all or you can download the Civ 1 scenario where John Valdez has already done this for you.(Thanks John by the way Then open them up color switch the white borders(or what ever color you happened to be when you ripped them) for the background color. Finally cut and paste (Ctrl+E) onto a fresh Units.gif and Viola. For some reason I think this fits more under a different section then Civ 2 general oh well.

I already did it on my Mac version. Quite easier, you know, using ResEdit. I've also managed to put sexy girls in the place of these units. I inserted a not-so-clothed girl in the Phalanx pic. Quite amusing. For a short moment. Then I thought it became boring to gaze at girls so I got back to classic pics! Serious, I can tell you that watching all the days at nude girls is annoying. Several people don't mind it but me, yes.

I remember the first time i played civ2, the unit art looked sooooooooooooo cool to me. I loaded up the ww2 scenario, and i wasnt german, so the AI went first, with armor and bombers cruisin all around a diagonal map of Europe. I dont think that sex is better than the feeling i got that first time. But now i look at those civ1 units and feel a wee bit nostalgic...

Well, actually the original Civ I was fun indeed and won game of the year 1991 I think but Civ II is the one that hooked me.
