I am 31 right now and play Civ since 10 years. One reason for civ players being older than average computer gamers: You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave...

LIVING IT UP AT THE HOTEL CALIFOOOOOOOORNIA

oh and im 23 btw

Lol at the Gaussian distribution comment. Are you sure its not a Poisson or a Laplacian or Gamma or Beta distribution?

Actually who am I kidding I practically failed my discrete and continuous probability courses :(

i do love and i do hate all civs and Alfa Centauri.

i started playing civ2 a long ago, but i couldnt understand the game, so i hated it. i was about 10 yrs old.

then i got alfa centauri. hated it too. i couldnt play: i was about 15.

finally i donwloaded civ3 vanilla 2 years ago.. loved. bought civ ptw. and finally im improving.

btw, im 19 now.

originally the distribution was such that it was nice and equal only when 11-15 was combined with 16-20, but since conquests, it equaled out.

I have refused to think about my age for so long that I have been forced on more than one occasion to do some quick math when asked about it. :b

I'm 48. I've played since 96-7. Got C3 in '02. went away to get over stuff like D2 and WC 2. 1st time I started my attempts to mod, I just couldn't get it. Stopped playing 'bout 15 months ago - hit Trop 2, D-2 and WC 3 FT. Played some other, forgetable games but like was pointed out on the first page of this thread - "...you CAN check out any time you like, but you can never leave..." :crazyeye:

Famous last words of the last console player at age 106, yet to be born:

("Addictive?!! - It's just a freakin' video game for cryin' out loud!!)

I'm 44. I dont game as much as I used to nor do I buy every new game that hits the shelves, especially ones that challenge the capabilities of my laptop like Civ4. During the summer, I'm a golf addict. When the weather changes, It's time to look for winter entertainment. Last year it was MOO3. This year, C3C.

I am 41 and have been playing Civilization and SMAC/SMAX since they were first released. I didn't have much time to invest, though, as I always had something going on. Now, and old back injury has caught up with me and I am finding I have more time to play this timeless classic (all versions).

I agree with everyone - you are never too old to play. What matters is if you still enjoy playing. For me, Civilization is more than a game - it is also way of keeping your brain focused. It is also a good educational tool for teaching strategy and diplomacy (IMHO).

I recently had to relocate my computer into the master bedroom. Fortunately, it is located close to the master bathroom resolving any bladder issues that may arise. :D

I am impressed!!! This thread has been running over four years!!

Hear!

My vote is no longer valid, I grew older since I voted!

Sometimes I think It may be useful if these forums would archive threads past a certain date, or something, to prevent necro-posting, and keep discussions that are out of date due to new knowledge, or improved understanding to rest.

well nobody is too old to do anything.at 19 i thought i was too old to play.as my parents usually say that.
