From the amazon.com editorial review of OK Computer:"Radiohead's third album got compared to Pink Floyd a lot when it came out, and its slow drama and conceptual sweep certainly put it in that category."

So at least Ok Computer is similar to Floyd.

Nope sorry its not  :p.

Sure Radiohead is good, and when i get i bit more cash I'll pick up the new album. But comparing them to Pink Floyd. I'm sorry. YOu cannot compare the best band ever created to any other band at all.

Oh yea, those others you mention, they're CRAZY. Crazy i tell you .

Seriously though, If you hear the similarities i have no problem with it. Myself though, i just don't hear them. But again i must irriterate. Readiohead kicks ass, just not as much as PinkFloyd and many other bands. However, I'm gunna Have to give the new CD a whirl. I just don't think Radiohead is yet deserving of a top 10 standing. And probably they wont ever as its gunna be pretty hard for them to dislodge some of the top people in my list.

these are amongs my favourite (not in rank but also not random order)

Blind Guardian
Iced Earth
Rhapsody
Kamelot
Hammerfall
Nightwish
ManOwaR
Sepultura (up to Album ROOTS with Max Cavalera)
Guns 'n Roses (up to Album Use your illusion 2)
Nirvana

and 2 more great bands that are either solo or joined projects of the people in the bands above

Deamons and Wizards (the Minds Behind Blind Guardian & Iced Earth)
Luca Turilli (the Mind Behind Rhapsody)

Dylan
Floyd
Beatles
GNR
weezer
Doors

Definitely not in any particular order

WASP

Iron Maiden
Magnum
AC/DC
Meat Loaf (Sad but true)
Saxon
The Damned (Eloise)
Rainbow
Black Sabbath

Furry, i see we just don't agree so i'll give it a rest. I picked up the new album today and its awesome. Buy it or download it and reconsider its top 10 slot ;)

I am still not sure if I want to buy the special edition of Hail to the thief or the ordinary version. Maybe I wait until they don't sell the special edition anymore, get mad at myself and buy the normal one. And I still haven't heard a new song (except for There, There, which sounds much like the previous albums). I'm just not in a Radiohead mood right now. More Metallica (and I don't consider their Load album as the beginning of the end, it's just a little different).

I never heard too much Pink Floyd, except for the Wall and Other Side of the Moon, but I don't think their musical style is so similar to Radiohead, that you could say, everyone who likes PF might like Radiohead. Perhaps intellectually and in terms of changes in their style.

Bands that are similar to Radiohead, at least in my perception of their music, are Muse, Coldplay, Garish, JJ72, perhaps Starsailor and My Vitriol. They all emulate a sound that is Radiohead without those indecipherable lyrics and dark moments.

so many queen fans !

black flag
husker du
melvins
stooges
motorhead
poison idea
electric frankenstein
slayer
new bomb turks
big black
the damned
big boys
butthole surfers
germs
adrenaline overdose

:band:

test_specimen. BUY THE SPECIAL EDITION! It's got the lyrics and comes with a cool poster and a 7-inch promo record with "There, There" and a new one "Paperbag Writer" on it. Also, "There, There" is not representative of HTTT. I aslo agree that Coldplay is similar to Radiohead. I consider them the happier version of Radiohead.

I bought the special edition of Amnesiac, but never really played it; I burnt the CD and left the original in the book, while listening to the burnt one (fearing that the original gets scratches if I take it out an put it back in too often). I missed the special edition of KID A, though the normal version also has Stanley Downwood's booklet and the hidden booklet.

(seems that I "am my f*cking khakis")

Bah! That is blaspheme! You cannot compare the two. It's like comparing beer to wine, Pink Floyd being the wine of course.
