Do you really want me to mention Leipzig, Blenheim, the Seven Years' War, the wars of Francois I - which were disastrous to the French exchequer, although they were pretty bad for the Habsburgs too - and, oh yeah, 1940? In addition to the aforementioned 1870 war, of course. Seriously, the "two sides" have dealt each other pretty bad blows over the years, and claiming that "France generally came out on top" is intellectually lazy (just as much as claiming that Germany had equivalent success BY THE WAY). And I would tend to err on the side of literature, art, culture, and so on being a good deal more civilizationally important than inconclusive conflicts with other countries.
I checked your profile, it doesn't say how old you are, but if you're out of your teens your education system has failed you utterly, as you are unable to appreciate that common satirical element, irony. I learnt irony in school. Actually, I learnt it out in the real world, but the point is my education taught me this glaringly obvious part of life, which you just don't seem to get. I don't understand how you can miss it. I'm assuming you're American, but even if you're French, you should still be able to grasp the English language well enough to understand how incredibly immature you are coming across as.
I said not a damn thing about your English language being immature. I said you were immature for engaging in a pissing contest, and your inability to understand irony reflected a lack of knowledge. I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt of going out on a limb and accepting that English might not be your first language, and as such you may not understand the concept of irony, but that was a bit of a stretch.

This whole thread is a definition of a spam thread. And your constant beratement of anyone that doesn't agree with you that France is orgasmically brilliant counts far more as spam than my attempts, firstly, to bring you to your senses in that argument and secondly, to instill in you an understanding of what my original post, which you have repeatedly failed to understand, was about.
Your continued inability to grasp the meaning of that post is proof that you don't understand irony. Although, to be fair, it isn't that post that's ironic, it's your continued responses that are.

to help me, post a civilization and post why it should be number 1. give at least four reasons. and cut the crap too i dont want any "theyre cool" junk just convince me that theyre the best. and once ive seen 100 different civilizations, i will make the desicions. if a civilization's already been posted, ill make a list of the ones that have been used. the contest begins now.
