Top 50 Videogames of the Decade on Destructoid

Modern Warfare and San Andreas are on the list.

Halo, on the other hand, isn't. Seriously, WTH.

Also, no Assassin's Creed? :shake:

Oh, ya, I forgot about the first MW, but not #2. And San Andreas wasn't as good as IV. Halo, maybe not the top but I thought it would be somewhere. I haven't actually player AC or AC2 but they look friggin' awesome.

Yeah. Saying it's the greatest thing ever is too much praise, but it's at least deserving of the top 50, probably more than several of the games that did make the list.

I've played Assassin's Creed, and yes, it is awesome.

Modern Warfare 2 wasn't released when this list was finished. I have to agree that Grand Theft Auto IV perhaps deserves a spot on the list, at least due to notoriety (however World of Warcraft is on there is beyond me). Halo's alright but really is nothing special.

all the final fantasy games should be on the list.

WHERE"S HALO, COD, OR GTAIV(May I remind you it is the only game to date that got a 10/10 from gamespot)?!?!?!?!?! N00bs. I haven't even heard of the number 1.

You haven't heard of Shadow of the Colossus? That's kinda odd to hear...but then again, a site full of Civilization fans probably doesn't care about cult PS2 stuff, in the same way a site full of Nintendo and Square fans wouldn't care about mature games all that much.

I agree though, it's surprising to see that Halo and Morrowind/Oblivion/Fallout 3 went COMPLETELY unrepresented, and that the wrong games represent the MGS, Civ, FF, GTA, SSB, and even (in some people's opinion) LoZ series.

I'm not just a Civ fan. I'm a Firaxis fan!(And a fan of author Bryan Davis, but that might be OT? Anyone want a link?)

Except on MGS, I agree with you. Though personally I think Metal Gear Solid 3 was the best in the series. Because you can throw snakes on people's faces.

Hey guys! Let's start a 3 vs 4 flamewar!

Civ4 is in the running for Crispy Gamer's Game of the Decade

This war has already been fought with no outright winner. I play Civ 3/4 and Rev because I'm a Civ freak at all levels. I guess that one could argue that the colour red is better than the colour blue, it just comes down to your own personal preference. Whatever the case Civ is number 1 in my charts.:)

Uh no, just no. Civ4 is the best strategy game of the decade, but to beat the epic Final Fantasy XII? Gotta say no, again.

Wow, both Civ4 and FFXII lost in round 1? Then again, seeing Call of Duty 4 losing in round 1 is even more ludicrous!

Okay, SSBM in the final four is ludicrous! Then again, that series has been boring me left and right recently, so...my words are lost. Nice to see World of Warcraft get where it deserves.

Personally I am disappointed (but not all that surprised) that none of the Football Manager (or pre-split Championship Manager) releases feature on this list. For an in-depth game which models as closely as is possible the complex reality of the worlds most popular sport, while allowing you to think you're the next Fergie you cannot beat it. Plus the developers do their best every year to see that older systems and Macs can play the game without problems.

Sorry to post here again, but I'm surprised that a link to this list wasn't posted:

As you can see, Civilization IV got the #10 spot on the list, beating out big names like Zelda: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Grand Theft Auto IV, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo, and Deus Ex. The top ten, in all was:

10) Civilization IV
9) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
8) BioShock
7) Resident Evil 4
6) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
5) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
4) Portal
3) Fallout 3
2) World of Warcraft
1) Half-Life 2

Only a single Japanese game in there!
