Tough times to be a fascist

You specifically said you didn't remember China doing even "saber rattling" and then just dismiss/twist into irrelevance nearly every instance of China doing this and more.

Look, I live in a country that has been at war for pretty much my entire life. You live in a country that participated in a competitive assault on the entire rest of the planet. I can't get really excited about two months of warfare over half a century. If you can, great. The original observation that China has 'an aggressive foreign policy' seems off to me...I mean compared to Fiji they do, but in the worldwide scope...:dunno:

I always thought that China were a peaceful country, at least towards other countries. I never hear much about them attacking other places.

Is it true that horses don't like to tread on prone human bodies?
I don't think anyone does. You could trip, fall and get hurt. People still get trampled to death though.

So basically you ignore/dismiss China's extremely agressive policy and saber-rattling because you can go back 40 years in the past and find example of other countries going at war.

You really have a completely broken ability to reason when it start to touch you personnal preferences.

Fifty years of war vs two months...that two months is really aggressive though!

Did someone say 'broken ability to reason'?

Tim: Assertion: China is not aggressive.

Akka: Rebuttal: China has waged several wars of aggression in the past few decades. Assertion disproven.

Tim: ...Yeah, well, the US has fought more wars, so China is not aggressive.

Do you not see the problem here? You claimed China did not wage wars of aggression. Akka proved beyond doubt that it does. You respond by moving the goalposts rather than admitting that he is right.

Most likely you're emotionally invested in the idea that America is literally the Fourth Reich and must be complained about and its rivals defended at every opportunity. Furthermore, you are emotionally invested in feeling like you are right, as almost everyone is. So when your assertions are disproved and you face the choice of either admitting it or defending the indefensible, you choose the latter. Cognitive dissonance.

I actually acknowledged the things he pointed out. I even went so far as to read up on them.

I just consider 'aggressive foreign policy' to be a relative term. Relative to Fiji, China is a nation of bloodthirsty barbarians. In the overall world view they are relatively peaceful.

Compared to America, China's foreign policy isn't that aggressive. Compared to Russia, it isn't that aggressive either. But China's actions towards its neighbors are aggressive compared to the rest of the world.

China has pretty much been an bleephole towards its neighbors shooting down ships and being like "What you gonna do" knowing its neighbors are too weak to do anything besides complain. China has no intention of launching any military operations because there is no need- there is no way its neighbors pose any threat. Perhaps if Japan gained nuclear capacity then maybe there would be a serious effort from China to up their military spending.

But it has a regional hegemony with its only potential rival being India who is too distracted by its own internal problems to project much force against China on the world stage. The US once filled this role, but recently China has been countering US influence within the Pacific, trying to weaken the ties between America and its Asian allies. After all, according to China Asia is for the Asiatics, and it is merely a convenient happenstance that China is the strongest power within the continent.

Phrossack and jackelgull have already answered the main points, so I won't repeat them here (despite them being very relevant).

But I'll also point another element : China is extremely agressive according to its abilities. You happily use this same reasoning to either find excuse for your favourites or throw accusation at your detested, so I find it amusingly revealing you forgot to use it here. China, despite being a growing power, is still pretty limited in its, let's say, range.
When it comes to military projection, China has been basically in conflict with every country it actually COULD.
Also, in another happy "coincidence" of double standard, you constantly accuse EU of economic bullying, but you seem to give China a free pass about it, despite it using its economy in a much more politized and just as much imperialist way. Again, you just seem to have a very laser-guided outrage.

When you say 'compared to America' do you include 'compared to European countries that use American forces as their own aggressive policy implementation, usually contributing troops of their own' as well?

African nations not trying to slaughter their neighbors seem to be exception, not the norm.

India and Pakistan are in a long term nuclear standoff. I am hard pressed to call that 'non aggressive' on either side.

It appears that everyone in the middle east is aggressive.

"China has no intention of launching any military operations because there is no need"...I pretty much consider that the definition of 'peaceful'...aggressive nations launch military operations that aren't needed just because they can.

Revealing your background sometimes makes it easier for other users to understand the origins of your views on various issues. But I understand why some people don't reveal their background - it gives you more opportunities to freely express your views without being labeled as something or someone.

When someone has location "USA", I imagine I'm talking with a guy whose ancestors immigrated from Europe. But it can be Africa or Asia as well.

When I type in my location "Poland", everyone is already labeling me in accordance with common stereotypes about Polish people. Etc., etc.

Such a "forum fascism" (I can use this word because it means nothing and everything today - every hateful person can be called like this).

Now I think that Timsup2nothin might be a Chinese-American. Did I guess it right?

I doubt he is an European-American considering his irrational hatred of Europe.

Tim is of Scottish descent, with a significant amount of other European muttery.

I don't hate Europe. Akka is just mad at me because whenever he comes out with his 'benign and benevolent and justifiably accusing Russia of being a beast' nonsense I throw it back in his face. European history is absolutely drenched in blood, and there is nothing about current European policy that is not based on the current theories of how to attain world domination. There is no difference between them and Russia except Russia has better access to military means.

I don't consider Europe worth mentioning. I think what Traitor Fish said on Great Britain in the rebirth of the British Empire thread applies to varying degrees to the rest of the European Union.

I don't hate Europe.
As I already told you, what you claim and what you do are deeply at odds. You may CLAIM you don't hate Europe, but in-between each of these claims are posts filled with anger, contempt and downright racism toward it.
I'm far to be the only one calling you on your knee-jerk hate of Europe, BTW.

I hate the entire world, so I can say everywhere sucks equally and Im not being biased! Yay.
