TR04 - Losers vs 5CC deity

It's actually crpViewer. You just have to install crpSuite and it comes with it. Load the file in and it has a zoom and pan feature. There are some spoiler stuff available too, but in any game associated with this website, I steer clear of those features.

EDIT:::: BTW, we have 10 more turns of peace with Izzy. I'd recommend turning off Always renegotiate deal So we won't have 40 turns of peace. Then we can hit her outpost town when we get ready. I'm building cathedrals in most of the towns due to our lack of native lux. Also to take full advantage of Sistines.

I know it's unlikely... but what if the town flips to us? Can we accept it, then abandon it right away? Or do we have to rebuff them?

Since this was supposed to be a strict 5CC. no accepting the losers. What we can do is go burn their town down. Now, I ask you, which would be funner, burning things or hugging our neighbors?

BTW eldar, do you realize that you are up in SGOTM6. I didn't want for Bede to break out that whip again. :)

I opened up the save and the last brain cell exploded. I need a tip or a goal other than war with Izzy. We've got approx. 3 boats (that last cell was holding 10GB of memory) in her waters with nowhere to sail to before declaring. Need a little direction por favor. the alwayd renegoiate thingy is no big deal; we can always cancel manually when we're ready. Am I setting up to clear the infestation by land or sea? And please refresh my blown memory, what VC? 20k? SS? Yes, I've been left unsupervised again. :crazyeye:

I don't think that we do have a goal. Dom & 100k are out for obvious reasons. I think 20k is out of the question due to loosing a couple of wonders. Conquest is gonna be hard. That leave diplo & space. Science is important for both since we need to get to the required techs at least second.

Izzy's city doesn't really bother me except for the fact that we don't have the military to deter her and don't have the unit support for the military that we need. I say go diplo, but Space might have to be a backup.

I'd say that the immediate goal is to get some infrastructure built and then worry about that city.

BTW, those three boats were just there to keep an eye on the war between Spain & her neighbors and to also block ports and generally harass Izzy.

I have some vague memory of making a statement about privateers actually having some use in this game. How 'bout we run to whatever tech enables them, build a shi**oad, and go kill the AI. We get the techs soon enough, we can tie them in knots. yes, I know, I need supervision, more oxygen, and less ethantol

No prob. Emergency room backed up??

Sent the eldest child (don't panic eldar, not accusing you of anything) off to outdoor education week today. The entire 5th grade goes to camp, lives in cabins and learns about nature. I wanna be a 5th grader in fact, not just mind for one week. Lot's of time to get ready.

I'm very disappointed in myself with this set. Although I cleared the boats from Bella's borders, I didn't pick up on the fact that she's sent at least four our way until turn 9. Idiotically, I've redeployed all our boats to block landings near our unclaimed iron. Next player needs to get ready for incoming spaniards.

Now for the log.

Do a prairie dog and pop up and look around. our opponents are broke idiots.

IT - Bella has Chiv, building KT in Madrid, where else?

260: start redeployment of the fleet

270: Bella is the only AI building a wonder. Decide we need more cash. Sell eng to Baldie for 43gpt + 44g. Sell Eng to the bit*h of Barcellona for 26gpt + 43g. Everyone else is dumb and poor.

280IT: Hiawatha RoP expires. He wants to let it die, ok.

Not much else. started arenas and markets. Bella learned Theo at the end. We'll beat her to Sistine as long as she wins the race to KT.

Redeploy the fleet to the NW asap.

Sorry for being an idiot. Hope I haven't killed this. http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads9/Tubby4_ak_350_AD.SAV

No I don't think that you killed it. I just think that what will kill us is no distinct goal.

BTW, Are we at war with IZzy?

Just because it hadn't been posted in a while...

Roster
eldar <---Up
Mach <--On deck
dman
Minute Man
Bede
Tubby Rower
A-K <-- just played

EDIT:::
@ eldar, do you know what to do about this ?
Idiotically, I've redeployed all our boats to block landings near our unclaimed iron. Next player needs to get ready for incoming spaniards.

I had some dromons blocking our coast near the Iron N of Nicaea. A-K moved those and now Izzy is coming after the iron or maybe us. Try to block the iron.

Seems simple enough to me, just delay the war a few turns while we divert those boats north. The delay stinks a bit, but there's not much else we can do.

I'm sorry guys but I'm going to have to back out of this game. Well actually all of my games. I realized last night that I'm spending way too much time playing civ and not enough time with my family. I'm becoming obsessed with Civ every waking moment I either want to play it or talk to someone about it. I'm going to tell my wife to hide the CD (but not break it which is what she'd rather do). I'm sorry to do this to you but I have to. I'll be around because I really don't think that I can quit cold turkey.

Thanks for all of the help that you guys have given me and the great games that we've played together.

Man, this is hard to quit the game that you started.....

@TR,

But keep those home fires burning.

It's been a joy playing with you.

Hope you can join the first Civ4 games.

A shame to see you go, it might've been nice for the Losers to at least attempt Sid, regardless of the outcome.

Your wife has the same opinion of Civ as mine does though....

Bye, Tubs. with family first; these aren't always easy decisions. Thanks for running these games, it's been much fun playing with you. And maybe come by and say hi every once in awhile. I think Woodie Guthrie used to end letters this way: take it easy, but take it.

:salute:

Sorry to hear that Tubby. You'll be missed. But it's good to see that you have your priorities straight.

Thanks for running these games; it's been a lot of fun. And if it wasn't for this series, I'd probably still be afraid to try anything above Monarch. I'll be sure to mine a food bonus or two in your honor. :)

Come on guys... I don't believe Tubby will completely cut himself from world of civfanatics....
He is on the break, he won't play as much as had but i am sure he will lurk and play a game or two once in a while.

So i don't say good bye but rather see you later Tubby...

Of course Family is first, so make sure your wife is pleased and then may be she will allow you to have a little tiny bit of civ time... Just like mine does. :)

It was lot of fun to be part of these game series and we did just great as a team.

Yeah I'm not going anywhere, but just am not going to play for a while. I hope to get an advisor position on the next SGOTM. It just doesn't seem right to be able to go into everybodies thread and see stuff that you shouldn't have seen yet.

And I'm going to have to return eventually to avenge our wooden spoon. ;)

I really appreciate you guys and the help that you have been to my game. I would still be scared of Regent and just frustrated if you guys wouldn't have helped this loser out.
