Traps and Towers module

I like the Barricades idea and of course the Cement Barrier. In addition I really want that Electric fence added.

I can make meshes but I am not sure how to get it into a format that the game can use. Do you guys know?

Here is an example of what I have meshed before from art class.

Note it was fully rigged too. However as you can tell I am not the best texturing artist.

I know that many graphics artists on the forums use Blender, and a .nif exporter. Art files for Civ are NIF files.
 
Well as it is now actually, Lasers don't require nearly the amount of power that railguns need and on top of that Boeing(built the plane) and Lockheed Martin(built the laser) have recently released a plane called the airborne laser that uses lasers to shoot things such as airbound missiles for example.

uh... a company is using a railgun to launch things into space so yeah... and a 32 mega joule railgun was built so can we say ship based guns with a range of 200 miles?

I will see what I can do about exporting to NIF. I know I was able to import Zoo Tycoon 2 meshes and I think they were NIF as well.

The issue with adding the electric fence is that it occurs at the same time as the cement barrier (early 60s is when the electric fence expanded out of agricultural use, which is the same time as the Berlin Wall). However, if no one creates the cement barrier graphics, I will probably end up using the electric fence. That will be some time since I am in the middle of transferring files to a new computer and have a few other projects slated before this one.

Well the best examples i can think of is like you said a Cement wall is like the Berlin wall. And a good electric fence is like in Jurassic Park where its tall and can (sometimes) keep out dinosaurs.

Another example is the the West Bank Barrier. Wikipedia also lists a few more, but the most (in)famous are the Berlin Wall and West Bank Wall. The Electric Fence would be an interesting city improvement for a Jurassic Park mod...

You are still working on this I hope. I really am looking forward to those towers. :D

I am nearly done. Just a couple more buttons and game text (and getting the Afforess code to the right line) and it will be "done." By done I mean as done is it can be due to lack of proper graphics. Getting the code to the right line is also delaying other projects.

I also had an installation issue to work out due to Windows 7 being prone to freezing for me.
 
OK, having issues getting A New Dawn's code to work. Uploading Towers (not working) with the error message I am getting. I just want to get this to work so I can finish up the Early Buildings upgrade and Wilderness (my name for Vacation mod since I am scaling it back) modules I am working on.

Looks like you are not using the latest version of Afforess' schema for buildings.
 
Indeed. Make sure you grab the latest one. I believe the example I gave you had it.

I tried that, and the issue is that I could not find the correct line to place the tag. The current schema I took from the building upgrades fix included in A New Dawn (1.53).
 
I tried that schema and got the same error. I think the issue is that I do not know where to put the <ReplaceBuildings> tag in the correct order. In other words, between which lines do I place it (i.e. between <DomainProductionModifiers and <BuildingHappinessChanges>)?

Put it right before the flavors.

Have you figured out what was wrong with it and why it was not working?

I figured out the issue. I will be releasing a new building pack soon (likely Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!), which will include:
-Towers
-Wilderness
-Balancing Update for Civics Buildings (OK, adding a minor penalty to the Imperial Mint, just being my own hypeman here)
-More Constructions Sounds for Modular Wonders and Civics Buildings
-An Optional "A New Dawn" upgrade for Early Buildings (which I would like to be the standard for A New Dawn, but I will still maintain a Rise of Mankind only version of Early Buildings)
