Where the Düşmanca River met the Ateşli Sea lay the great city of Rıhtım, the Capital of the Khanate of the Kirmizi. And it was the realm of the Khan. Aslan, son of Sürat, had overseen the establishment of the Khanate from a number of tribes in the Kalkans to the East.

Khan Aslan was of the Okçu, the archers, who hunted for wild beasts on the Kalkans before the times of Sürat, son of Kabadayı. The other major clans of the Kirmizi were the Atlı, Kalas, Göçebe, Orak, and Demirci.

@Death: My mistake... the Dialicians also have barbaric culture. It's because you're so far Noth and rely on hunting and such. But like I said, culture changes... often. Don't be too concerned by it unless you're in a war.

To: Amasi
From: Khanate of the Kirmizi

We know that the Konjan have been increasingly encroaching on your hunting lands on the Kalkans. Would you consider an alliance that would rain blood and fire upon our mutual enemy?

Khan Aslan of the Okçu

Orders:
Grow Economy
Expand along the Ateşli Sea
Build temples to the Kirmizçe gods throughout Rıhtım City.

From Amasi
To Kirmizi Khanate

Yes, we would agree to an alliance that would drive out the Konjan.

Update Tomorrow

OOC: LOL, aaminion, Konjan want an alliance to drive themselves out?

IC:

It was the Year of First City when Dak Ir Para was founded. Many years passed, many buildings were built, but overall the life did not change much. It was peaceful in the mountains, apart from hunts, as no one wanted to fight with Zapatians.

Odrik still led his people, as on that memorable day. Some said he was immortal, others said it was his son or even grandson, but nevertheless, there was Odrik.

Scouts explored the mountains and the river, to know the realm they live in, and encountered only a few other peoples, that either joined the Zapatians, either traded with them. The part of the river which was going down from the mountain was not as explored, but people who lived along it said that there was a great kingdom of animal-riders farther down the river, at a great lake. Odrik decided to expand at first, to build more villages where possible, and only then try to find the animal-riders.

Orders:
- Increase economy (by trade with tiny tribes around us)
- Expand to north-west along the river, and possibly try to expand in the mountains as well.

Dialic

getting these in incase my story isnt done before update

Orders
- increase army size
- expand east,west, and south
- send offers to tribes to join me, or ally with me

Heya all, nice to be with you all, my civ hopes to meet your explorers soon ;-)

I have created my starting location and named my continent. My civilization lives on the South Western continent and has a city - Xiwolvae built on an island in a lake, surrounded by farms on the grasslands of Pazak. There is a smaller city at the source of the river where there are springs and a large lake - Iskador Springs, built upon a hillock in the midst of the jungles. Xiwolvae is just north of the jungle on that continent.

pazak.gif

The people have Pleasant Culture but no army as they are isolated and so it isn't needed. They have larged stepped pyramids built along the river, giant temples to the multitude of Gods and Godesses worshipped. The economy is a barter economy without any coinage as the people have rejected money some time in the past in favor of this system. Xiwolvae is the only city left of a once mighty Empire which ruled the world up to the frozen wastes, but the people have long forgotten that past. The old ruins are to be found throughout the jungle, but in the more temperate regions, the ruins have disappeared faster and little trace is left outside of these two continents (Northern and Southern Pazak, see the map). The people simply wish to live a fun, happy life, and believe themselves to be alone on the world. The population stays at a constant due to the diseases from the jungles.

The people themselves are slightly tanned, with blue eyes, occassionally green and blond, light brown or red hair. They are of athletic build due to intense outdoor activities, well educated but abhor violence, the small Army is used as a more organisational, explorational and constructional than military tool

Nation: Aphraea
Ruler: High Priestess Aphrael (always the same name, as the high priestess assumes tis name upon ascension to the leadership)
Economy: 2
Army: 20
Culture: Pleasant

History: The Godess Aphrael lived on the island, drinking from its waters and living with her companions, the beasts of the forest, before she left the world to remain forever more in heaven, and her people built Xiwolvae and nominated her high priest to be the ruler. These people expanded, researched and traded, building cities throughout the world before disappearing, possibly due to internal strife, possibly due to an extreme ice age by the passage of the Mother Sun too close to another star, for indeed it was said a bright light was witnessed all over the world, although this may have been just the gleam of the ice. The people gatehred at Xiwolvae to rebuild, but tropical disease in the newly grown jungles ensured they never expanded further, until that old Empire passed from memory. Recently - about 200 years ago, Iskador Springs was founded, upon the commands of the then High Priestess, Aphrael MCCLXXV, who received this command from the God Iskador - God of the Waters beneath the Earth - in a vision.

The Temple to the Goddess Aphrael in Xiwolvae, the waters of the lake fed by the river Iskador itself, the dome a refelction of the sky where the Goddess herself lives, and the statues of the greatest High Priestesses including Aphrael XXVII who commanded the founding of the city, and Aphrael CCLXX who began the annual games, and Aphrael CCLXXII who prophesied the coming of the ice and through her forewarning managed to save some of the population of Xiwolvae from the disastrous effects the changing weather had.

Hopefully, these people with the emergence of the great Philosopher Priest Antipater will regain some of the lost glory, and recover lost knowledge and once again sail the oceans of the World.

EDIT: Nevermind, completely useless comment.

ORDERS:

Increase Army
Invade the tribe to the north west.

Random Event

A century of great succes in the fields results in a population surplus for the Kirmizi, along with an additional 50 warriors.

-----

The cold wind blows as dozens of men chisel away at large slabs of rock and ice. Next to them are several already crafted boulders, with indents and texture implying loosely defined human faces; the Northmen gods. Thousands of years from now, archeologists will uncover some of these statues, buried under layers of dirt, trying to decipher the puzzles of the ancient Northmen. But not even the most open minded think of such a future. Of much greater concern is the most recent expansion North. Many Northmen warriors lose their life, but 2 barbarian villages are subjugated into the Confederacy.

Northmen: 50 men
Barbarians: 75 men, 2 villages

The leaders met. The traditional exchange of animals, weapons, servants, and wives took place in Rihtim, as Khan Aslan the Third conversed with Chiefatin Timrid of the Amasi. Together they agreed on one thing; the Konjan would have to be driven out. The Amasi pledged 75 men to such a cause, before thanking Khan Aslan and leaving to their lands in the Kalkans. There was reportedly a look of marvel on their faces as they took in the recently constructed temples of Rihtim; great complex wooden structures where men would go often to seek solutions to their problems. Problems however, are minimal for the Kirmizi, as they expand peacefully along the coast of the Ateºli Sea. The Amasi go about their decade old ways of hunting, while the Konjan establish a tiny village in the center of their lands, mimicking the more sophisticated Kirmizi.

Beads for quilts. Goat-hide cloaks for an expertly crafted set of arrows. Such were the exchanges of the Zapatans in the early years. Odrik ordered the men to ask mostly for hunting supplies and thick furs. With these, he ordered two great expeditions. The frist was sent to the greatest mountain of them all, reaching high up into the sky so that man had trouble seeing the top. Many tried to climb to the top, but all failed. Finally a wise men concluded that it'd be best to try and move around the great mountain, and the rest agreed. Within several years of expeditions, the Zapatans had reached the other side of the mountain. Meanwhile, the other mission was to follow the great river. This was a hard job, as obviously it required going up hill and upstream to the source of the river in one of the many mountains. But find it they did. After many years, the Zapatans could safely say they controlled the spring of the river. Some who ventured further reported that on the other side of the mountains, along the coast, lived a strange people who spoke a completely different tongue and had different customs. They lived off of the sea, but were said to be capable archers.

The Dialicians try to preach unity between their brother tribes, but this goes very slowly, as most are led by chiefatins who see no reason to give up their powers to one they see as an inferior. Still one in the East accepts Kiefer's challenge to the traditional dual. They meet near a spring, accompinied by their armies and families. The fight lasted for a long time, but in the end, Kiefer proved victorious. With a final blow to the head, he won the opposing chiefatin's village, seven wives, people, and 50 warriors. Unfortunatly, there is no connection between the main city and the new village.

The warriors were armed with spears and shields. At the order of the King, they crossed the old forest that marked the end of Serdio, and entered the barbarian lands. The battle was quick. The tiny village was unprepared and fell quickly to the better armed Serdioans, but not before managing to take out many a Serdio sould.
Serdioans: 30 men
Barbarians: 50 men, 1 village

Large amounts of stone and mudbrick are taken to the center of Xiwolvae. There, under threat of expulsion from the community, people work day and night on the completion of a great building. It reaches out to the sky... an artificial mountain, where the Aphraeans worship their main godess, Aphrael. The high priestess, also Aphrael, conducts daily prayers to her namesake as she leads her tiny city. The sophisticated Aphraens have a complex language and religious system, but their army is not enough to enforce the building of the pyramid. As a result, a large portion of workers abandonds the city and forms their own kingdom in a nearby village, declaring open hostilities between the two states.

In the warm Southwestern lands of the great continent, a small land called Treturia appears. Led by the King Lesius, they live in a city carved out of the rocks in the nearby hills.

OOC

@Das - Actually, the Rohanians can't ride horses. Nobody can, as they haven't been domesticated yet.

@Espirito - Well it's a nice story, but it's far too advanced for the times. Maybe 800 years from now, but now now. Remember, cities have only been established for some 100 years now, and the most sophisticated thing produced thus far has been copper.

OOC: Well, then they ride these black things over there... Or not, well, rumors are often exaggerated.

The great Ho'dak river was going down from the tallest mountains, and approaching Dak Ir Para, and from it moved to the Valley, and to the legendary Rohirim. The local tribes seemed to speak of them being distant relatives of the mountaineers, and Odrik has finally made his choice. He sent his son, Hartrik, with twenty five warriors to go along with Ho'dak until they reach Rohan. On their way, the young men were to ask for the tribes living along the river for trade, or to join with the Zapatians (which now didn't necessarily mean for them to move to the mountains). Once they find Rohan, they are to tell the Rohirim of Zapatian mountains and offer trade and alliance.

Otherwise, these times were pretty much the same. Expansion in the mountains continued, so did the trade, the only actual changes were two, the control over the beginnings of Ho'Dak river, and the domestication of mountain goats.

Orders:
- Expand to northeast and southwest, try to build more settlements if possible.
- Increase economy by trade and by domesticating mountain goats, if we can do that.
- Send Hartrik's expedition like in the first paragraph of the story.

@aaminion OK, my aphraeans will conscript an army to subjugate that rebellious schism and raze their would be city to the ground, then we shall endeavor to advance on the commands of our Goddess. I hope it was only workers who abandoned us so my army can go and punish them :rocket: (Ok so we dont have rockets, but my copper shields and spears will be enough I hope)

Orders:
- send some settlers to build Iskador Springs
- increase the army and send a large enough force to destroy the rebelious workers and raze the city, building a temple to the God Raphe - God of Triumph.
- order the people to breed like rabbits to replace the population lost in the settling expedition and the fight.
- introduce water rationing, controlled by the Warrior Priests so the people are controlled completely - no more rebelling!

The High Priestess Aphrael stood outside her Temple, behind which the half-finished pyramid stepped up to the sky before stopping above the horizon. She announced to the people that this rebellion would not go unpunished, that the army would be expanded and sent to punish the culprits. A colony will be buil at the source of the River - Iskador Springs, and a new age of expansion and enlightenment would arrive.

KHANATE OF THE KIRMIZI

The Cliffs of Âli Kaya loomed over the great Ateşli Sea. The crashing waves thundered upon the sharp rocks that jutted out of the murky darkness. Khan Pars, son of Aslan of the Okçu, looked upon the crashing waves, pivoted on his right heel and addressed his troops.

"Savaşçin Belgili Tanımlık Kirmizi, biz gitmek ileri değile doğru yok etmek bizim düşman amae doğru kaynaşmak bizim erkek kardeş! Farz edelim değil başaramamak!"
Warriors of the Kirmizi, we go forth not to destroy our enemy but to unite our brothers! Let us not fail at that!"

And with that, the alliance of Blood and Fire swept into the Kalkans.

-
Nation: Kirmizi (Green)
Ruler: Khan Pars (Plexus)
Economy: 3
Army: 150
Culture: Rudimentary
-
Orders:
Grow army 2x.
Attack Konjan villages, reestablish the Konjan capital as the new city of Ezici Zafer.
Continue to expand coastally.
Grow temple complexes even more extensive.

OOC: Minion, do you need any help with the timeline or did you just forget it?

Northland

The loss of 50 men mad Death very angry, he wanted his men to be the best. To help this problem out he decided to train his men to fear nothing and feel no pain. To make them so brute and tough that they would be near impossible to beat. He also wanted to make food available to every one. So he had the idea of a market place that sold various foods to the people in exchange for their money. Death was alos upset that many surrounding tribes were unwilling to join. So he decided to have his men raid their villiages and sack them for all they were worth. This hopefully would intimidate some of the barbaric tribes into joining. If not the northlanders would still get a lotta gold and food.

Orders

increase economy through market places and pilliaging other surrounding villiages
train men to be extremely fearsome and to be afraid of nothing
try and force other tribes into joining through intimidation and raiding their villiages
expand north

Random Event

An unexcpectedly good fishing season results in a population increase for the Northmen. They add 50 warriors to their ranks.

-----

The Zapatans begin to expand along their mountanious home. Heading towards the sea means the terrain is not as steep as it is in their homeland. However it also means that the land is more valuable to other migrating tribes. Several other "mountainfolk" have set up villages around their expeditions. To the Southeast, an expedition to find their fabled twin nation hasn't succeeded. However, a particularly wealthy tribe was found. In the battle that followed, the Zapatans lost quite a few men, but managed to take over the village and turn it into their second "city".

Zapatans: 30 men
Barbarians: 45 men, 1 village

After council from their high priestess to have more children, the Aphrean populatin has taken a noticable upturn. Within years, young men are drafted into the army, repleneshing it's ranks. They are then sent to bring back the renegade workers, which had by then established a small state of their own. At first the numerical superiority of the Aphreans results in victories in battles surrounding the worker city, however when they get to the city the Aphreans find something spectacular! The workers have joineed together mudbricks and piled them on top of each other to form an enclosure around the city. Baffled at the sheer size of the wall, the Aphreans turn back and look to their high priestess for guidance. Meanwhile, an expedition is sent to the source of the river, but has yet to reach it. People are confident that the source is near though.

Aphreans: 45 men
Workers: 55 men

The Konjan leaders had feared that the Amasi were up to something, but they had no idea the Kirmizi were involved as well. The Kirmizi army crushes through the Konjan hunting parties in the Southwestern Kalkans, sending them retreating to their heartland. There, the Amasi attack, but being inferior to the Kirmizi are merely an equal match to the Konjan. A large battle occurs where both sides lose many men. The Konjan then turned back to their village, only to find that it was under siege by the Kirmizi. There the Konjan split, with one half staying behind in their city and the other half surrendering and migrating Northward to better homelands. The city surrender by the end of winter, and it would from that day onward be known as Ezici Zafer; the 2nd city in the Kirmizi Khanate.

Kirmizi: 40 men
Konjan: 75 men
Amasi: 50 men

The Northmen grow to be the most feared army in the world. Great in size, but even greater in stature and legend, they raid many of the local villages, gaining an economy level in return. Continous tactics yield many casualties, but in the end the villages all surrender to the Northmen. Rumors of ther kingdoms on their island speaking the Northern tongue begin to circulate.

Northmen: 80 men
Barbarians: 175 men, 3 villages

Treturia quitely expands. Expeditions are sent to the ocean, and they bring back pearls and sand, but fail to establish any Treturian claim on the land. The rulers grudgingly accept the plains in between their city and the ocean.

Lack of activity from Serdio has resulted in the formation of many city states surrounding it. The local barbarians of similar tongue learned the art of city building from the Serdians, and mimicked it in their homelands. The most notable are Aria (Turquoise), Leptum (Dark Green), Kasana (Green), and Mergium (Hot Pink).

OOC: Das, if you could do the timeline for the last 2 turns I'd be greatful.

OOC: I will try. BTW, something I've noticed on the first page: Known World. Is there an unknown part of the world hiding somewhere, waiting for colonization? Would've been nice, oh well, I think there isn't... Oh, and if the Dusmanca River is titled, why isn't Ho'dak?

IC:

Two Hundred Years passed since Dak Ir Para has been found. Odrik still reigned, Rohirrim still were not found.

Hartrik's expedition, however, was attacked by a wealthy tribe, presiding on a lonely hill in a valley. Much warriors died when fighting back, but in the euphoria, the mountaineers attacked the hill people, defeated them, and forced them to their knees. City of Para Dam ("Found in Blood") was built on that hill, and for the first time did Zapata expand by war. Hartrik was given temporary power over the city until his father's decision on how to govern it. But the casualities were grieveous by the standards of the time, and the loss was felt in the underpopulated mountain nation. Since most people knew pretty much everyone else in Zapata, every Zapatian lost several friends and relatives.

Yet Odrik was displeased not only by that. He already knew what will come. This was the first conquest. Soon, one of the survived warriors or his son, or his grandson - it didn't matter, will come to the conclusion that the conquests must continue. They will raise warriors and will conquer the land, and when it ends, they will build such fishing rafts that could sail to another world, and will invade other lands, and will conquer. Ofcourse, there must be others who wanted to expand and conquer, but if only wolves will survive, they will eat each other as soon as the sheep end.

And the worst part was, it was unstopable. It was too late to somehow cancel this. Odrik knew it well, he was wiser then the most - that's why he led his people, after all. He had to raise an army, for another one will come, and will do it just as well. Yet he also decided to somehow stop or slow down the future destruction. He decided to train these warriors and the others in a single code of honor, that must pass down the generations, and that will make the future conquest less harsh towards the people. True, now only a few people wanted to take advantage of the victory and torture and humiliate the ones who were defeated. Yet it too may spread.

He has called for Bazorak, his advisor and told him the new orders for the Zapatian people. He made a difference, he was sure. As Bazorak left with the orders, Odrik also thought about how good it would have been to somehow write down one's thoughts, as well as knowledge and orders - it would have been alot more convenient. Suddenly, he came up with an idea, and called for Terok, another advisor.

Orders:
- expand to link with the new territory.
- Increase army by 100. Train them by a code of honor, to educate a just way of fighting and controlling a conquered territory.
- Try to come up with some sort of a primitive alphabeth, if we can do that.

Diplomacy:

From: Ozrik, Chief of Zapata
To: other tribes
I greet you! Our peoples are brothers in blood, culture and ideals, and ours is a nation of mountaineers, where all the people are equal. We call for your tribes to join with us, your chiefs will be allowed to say their opinion in a tribal council and will still rule their people. Trust me, there will be no deceit.

OOC: Timeline:

100 f.c.

Northern Alliance begins armed expansion, conquering two other barbarian tribes. Amasi barbarians sign an alliance with the Kirmizi Khan, aimed against the Konjan tribe. Dialican chief Kiefir incorporates another barbarian tribe after a one on one battle with their chieftain. Serdioan warriors leave their borders to fight the barbarians. The nation of Aphrae appears on Northern Pazak, and builds the city of Xiwolae, where the workers begin erecting a great pyramid temple. However, some of the workers rebel and secede from the High Priestess' reign. A kingdom of Treturia appears.

200 f.c.

Chief Death of the Northmen orders the warriors to be trained not to fear anything, and fight with all their rage. This leads to sizeable casualities, but even greater gains, as all of the surrounding tribes submit. Amasi and Kirmizi forces strike agaisnt the Konjan, forcing some of them to move far in a search for a new land, while the others were put under the Kirmizi control, along with their lands. Treturians begin first expeditions into the ocean. Barbarian tribes, influenced by the superior Serdioan culture form their own city-states on the Serdioan sub-continent. Aphraeans raise a new army, but fail to defeat the workers as they construct a huge wall. A Zapatian expedition to find the legendary Rohan fails, yet it conquers a tribe and it's village they find along the way.

Is that alright?
