Tribes 1

OK. Damn those clever workers and their high mud walls. Now my people have grown large we can send some expeditions to explore the land around us looking fro ruins or other small towns of indigenous people.

Orders:
1)Expand the Army.
2)Send a Diplomat-Priest to meet with the rebels and try to offer them certain benefits if they come joion with us - if force didn't work, diplomacy might, and if they don't want to come back to Xiwolvae, they can accept the rule of the Temple in their new city. Enforce a seige without being too threatening, lets not give them reason to hate us, just to fear us.
3)Get some of the Army to begin explorations downriver, to loot any ancient ruins and to bring any indigenous people under our influence. Oh, and send some women with them so they can establish a port at the river mouth.
4)Pray to the Goddess for guidance as how to deal with those walls if diplomacy doesn't work :D
5)Get the Army to build better roads under the guidance of the Scholar-Priests to keep them in top physical condition.
6)DId I notice any horses running around to the North by any chance which could maybe be tamed?

wierd, my orders where totally ignored and im not even mentioned as forgetting them....

Well what can I say. Tough luck. You gave your odrers over AIM, and you as a mod should know how easy it is to forget those. That's why most mods don't accept them. You had plenty of time in between, I don't see why you didn't just post them.

you coudlve copied and pasted, but its ok, atleast you didnt punish me

In the forests not to far from the Eastern Dialic tribe but close to the barbaric tribes farther south, the Chiefs son of 17 years, Gabo, was exploring the mysticalness of the forest. As well as a little bit of hunting when he saw a big enough beast. What he wasnt trying to do was get lost, because everyone knows what can happen when you get lost in the forest.

Exploring and hunting more, Gabo was steadily becoming more worried as the sun creeped ever so closer towards the horizon. He decided now a good time to stop and go back, so he quickly took his bag of meat he'd gathered and sprinted back towards what he thought was home. Unfortunately, it wasnt.

Running, with an ever faster beating heat, Gabo was terrified now. It was pitch black and he still hadnt reach his village. He decided rest would be a good idea. So he laid down on the side of a tree trunk, and slowly nodded off to sleep.....

Suddenly, he awoke to four large men standing near him. "It is a tresspasser to the sacred Village of Krage, he must be punished" said on man, the others nodding in agreement. "No! Dont hurt me, I am the Chief of Dialics son!" The four men laughed, picked up thier clubs, and yelled "TRESSPASSER!" It was the last word Gabo ever would here again.

**************

Three days passed and at this time in the Western Dialic vilage, the King had posted a manhunt for his son. Sitting on the outside of his elaborate Hut, which could barely be called that anymore, he was deep in thought when he heard footsteps. It was a messenger of some sort, carrying a letter. Chief Kiefer awoke from his deep daze and recieved the letter as it was delivered "Chief, It doesnt appear to be good news." he said, and ran off into the village.

Going over the letters, Kiefers blood began to boil. His hands shook, and face became a dark red color. Seeing this, the wife of the chief, Maribel, came out "Whats going on? Whats wrong?" Kiefer said in response "Our son is dead, go get me General Estard. Revenge will be sweet"

Don't let this die, aaminion! And what about the timeline, should I change anything in it?

Huh? Oh no, it's not dead. I'll update the timeline and general game today. Yesterday I hung out with my friend all day so I didn't have time.

The discovery of silver in the hills near Aphrea has created a new trade in the realm. The Aphrean economy increases one level.

-----

"Thou shalt not strike at the defensless"
"Thou shalt not destroy, that which was not build for war"
The scribes slowly etch the corresponding symbols into the tree bark. It had now been many decades since Ozrik the wise and the time of the first writing. A small language, with different pictures representing different words appeared, etched into tree bark. It was complex, and scribes had to spend much of their lives learning it, but it was a great improvement over the old ways. For one it helped preserve the Code of Honor, also developed by Ozrik. The simple laws had created thinkers out of warriors, and Zapatans grew to be known throughout the lands as a just people. It also impressed other cultures. Many of the tribes around the Zapatans joined under the banner after being exposed to Zapatan culture. Only one small pocket at the foot of the great mountain refused.

Para Dam offered new oppertunities for the Zapatans. The rich land around it's paliside walls provided rich harvests year in and year out. Within only three generations, Para Dam grew to be as large as Dak Ir Para, a testament to it's agricultural strength. Trade is conducted with the surrounding villages, and some intricate gold trinkets arise, suggesting another advanced culture to the South. The mythical black beasts that were told in legends had also been sighted on the other side of the Ho'Dak. Back in the North, the seaside tribes had united under the nation of Ikram. Their capital is Hyasa, and the ruler is known as Luke.

In Aphrea, the Northern expedition to Iskador Springs still hasn't found what they are looking for. But everybody is certain they are very, very close. In the South, a similar expedition is launched, but it quickly grows tired. They forget their orders and instead establish a city at the farthest extent of their Southern penetration. Small pockets of indigenious people are discovered around the river, but they are different from the Aphreans themselves.

Back in the city of workers, attempts at diplomacy fail. A final conflict looms. The high priestess spends a large amount of money financing an army and sends it crashing at the rebellious city. The battle is ferocious but in the end the Aphreans are supreme. Tall trees were cut from the forests and rammed into the doors of the city repeatedly till the Aphreans entered. Inside, the Aphrean army was far superior to the workers, but lost a great number of men all the same. For many days there was celebration, but then it dawned upon those in power that the money spent on the army had decimated the economy. For a decade, Aphrea entered a horrendous depression, and it seemed it would never get out. Fortunatly however, near the end of this last century, deposits of silver were found not far from Xiiwolvae. These have provided the spark necessary for Aphrea to climb out of depression... just barely.

Aphrea: 70 men
Workers: 125 men

The Northmen try to improve their army through technology, but this is only slightly succesful. Archery becomes very popular, and the Northmen soon become as proficient at shooting arrows as they are in wielding the battle ax. The quest to use animals in warfare is less succesful. No "horses" are found, as the beasts would surely die in such cold temperatures. Otherwise the Northman state keeps progressing. Ore is found in the nearby mountains, while several other tribes are assimilated. Contact is established with three more advanced states. In the West, Ipsa, a nation of fishermen and raiders. To the North, the large nation of Svedland, a nation of miners who live in lands even colder than those of Death's Northmen. Finally to the East is the state of Istland, home of the Eastmen. All three are states of 'Northmen', just like Northland itself. All 4 states speak the same language, fight with the same weapons, and worship the same gods.

Northmen: 25 men
Barbarians: 50 men, 1 village

In the lands of the Kirmizi, peace reigns. The Amasi are the only other tribe close by, and they are loyal friend. The Konjan have not been heard of in years, apparently very scared of the Kirmizi. Expansion along the river is peaceful, but much land is gained elsewhere as well, as groups of wandering nomads join the Khanate. It is said that some similar kingdoms live nearby.

In the lands of the Dialic speakers, the Western Dialicians set out to commit slow revenge. The Hamelians agree to punish Krage, looking at how they themselves could profit from the situation. The Dialicians themselves expand until their armies are at the doorsteps of the Krage kingdom. The Dialician kingdom is massive now, but admnistrating his new subjects is the least of Kiefer's worries. The warriors have their spears and shield brandished. Nearby men have made new arrows out of the nearby wood. They look at the nearby Krage village, and then at their chief, waiting for the order to attack.

Traterium continues to expand, finally reaching the coast. A great road is built from the capital to the seaside, where they build a new town. Hostile tribes have appeared around their capital however, and military focus may have to be shifted Eastward once again.

The Serdioan city states continue to expand, carving out what parts of greater Serdio they can have for themselves. The ancient city state of Serdio itself doesn't expand at all, and many begin to question the king's leadership.

OOC: Espirito, you have not found any horses on your island yet. Notice that you almost entered depression this turn; be careful not to let you economy level drop to 0. Das, I won't say anything regarding the world, but I'd suggest you look at the temperature map closely. The Ho'Dak river has been titled, sorry, I forgot. Plexus and Espirito, you guys will have some more npcs coming your way soon. So will some of the unpopulated regions of the world.

Nation: Aphraea (Pink)
Ruler: High Priestess Aphrael (Espirito)
Economy: 1
Army: 185
Culture: Rudimentary

Now we have three towns from which to command the surroundings we can concentrate on our economy. The silver shall be mined and tributes paid to the great Goddess to thank for the discovery of the silver. AT least those loyal followers who went North havent given up yet :D

The workers town shall be named Aurela as this will be where many of the gold miners will come from. The southern town shall be known as Iskadria

Orders
i) Send miners to mine the silver.
ii) Attempt to mint a coinage with this to improve the economy and pay our miners
iii) Get the army to maintain safe routes to the new towns so we can have our merchants travelling.
iv) Order our philosopher-priests to experiment with ways to improve agriculture and the economy, and to try builduing in stone instead of mud.

OOC: Is that city to the south in the jungle?

oh, and story will be later probably, just wanted to get in some prelimenary orders

OOC: Good map, did you get the idea from EQNES? And Traterium is Treturia, right? Oh, and you meant terrain map, right?

Oh, and sorry if I sound dumn, but are the black beasts some sort of a breed of horses, a related beast that exists on Earth as well, or do I get to name them as well? I mean, I can't call them Black Beasts for enternity.

And I am certainly glad to see it's still alive, I was beginning to worry about it.

Part IV - A New Era

The day has come, 300 years after Dak Ir Para was founded, and Odrik died. Some claimed his lifetime was extended by the gods so he could live so many years, others say he was immortal but was poisoned, and a few say that there was a dynasty of Odriks, and this one had no heir. It is hard to say what is truth now.

But Odrik was buried in a large ceremony, and people all over Zapata and from Para Dam and the joined villages mourned him for a week, and then Jatard, his young second son, took his father's place by the decision of the chieftain council and the elders of Dak Ir Para.

By that time, there were three obvious factions in the chieftain council, which, in fact, ruled Zapata as a tribal coalition (the chieftain of Dak Ir Para had the greatest power, but was to listen to the advice of the other chieftains and of the elders) ever since the other chieftains agreed to join with Odrik. There were the ones who wanted to live and prosper like they always did, without much change. Others wanted to conquer the Mim Tor ("Sea Guard", the northwestern coast) and the jungles with grasslands such as the one of Para Dam. Latest wanted to expand peacefully in the mountain, unite all the tribes that want to join (unlike the northeastern Khodat tribe), and find Rohan, of which more and more was heard.

Jatard supported the last one, but tried not to gain any enemies. Despite being young, he definitely inherited his father's wisdom, and kept the council united.

In the mean time, changes took place - writing appeared and advanced, as each new generation made it's changes, and made it easier to learn. A special group of scribes were assigned the hard task of writting down the history of Zapata since Dak Ir Para was founded. Not too far away from Para Dam, the hunters sighted the legendary Rohirim black beasts. The people of Ikram were encountered on Mim Tor, and they too had a system of governing themselves like Odrik's rule in the first years.

With Odrik's death, a new era has started in Zapata. Some would say later that the change was domestication of goats, invention of writing or the capture of Para Dam, but truely, the new era started with Jatard becoming the chieftain of Dak Ir Para.

Orders:
- Expand to join my main territory with the smaller tribes. Also expand to the other side of Ho'Dak river near Para Dam with 50 warriors just in case.
- Grow economy by trade between the united tribes and agriculture near Para Dam and possibly on the other side of Ho'Dak river.
- Formally establish the rule of the Chieftain Council (OOC: will we have a government stat?)
- Change ruler name to Jatard.
- Attempt to domesticate the Rohanian black beasts.

Diplomacy:

From: Chieftain Jatard
To: The Khodat chieftain in the northwest

Why do you refuse to join our council? All the mountaineers should unite! We will not force this upon you, however. If you do not want to join, then how about trade?

From: Chieftain Jatard of Zapata
To: Chief Luke of Ikrim

I greet you, Chief Luke! Both our peoples are great, though are different. We wish you no harm, and we ask you merely for a trade between our peoples, and for exchange of ideas between our wisemen and your wisemen.

Timeline

300 f.c.

Contact is established between the four Northman states - Northland, Istland, Svedland, Ipsa. A vendetta begins between the West Dialican chieftain and the Krage tribe, with Hamelicans being dragged in by the former. Treturians reach the eastern coast and build a great road towards it. Aphraeans crush the worker rebellion with large losses on both sides. Silver is found in the north of Aphraea, and covers the result of the large military expenses. A coalition of Zapatan tribes is formed in the mountains, and a council of chieftains is called to rule them. To the northwest from there, several seaside Akrimian tribes unite and form a state of Ikram.

Northland to other northmen tribes: Since we're pretty much all the same hows about a unification or at least an alliance

Orders

increase economy through fishing and selling fish on the markets
expand north conquer any barbarian tribes
push for unification or alliance with other northern nations
continue to mine for metal ores

 Huh? Err, you mean the little map under the main one on this page? No, I had made one like that before for EuroNES long before EQNES. Traterium/Treturia, sorry, I guess I mixed them up. And no I didn't mean terrain map, that was a map of the ethnicities. Unless you're talking about something else. And the black beasts, yeah, they're horses that are found in the desert and plains. Think of them as Arabian deserts. I guess you could name them whatever you want, but horses would be easiest. Thanks for the timeline.

I'm thinking of joining, But i'll need to talk with AAminion befor...

That was the map I was speaking about (meaning the terrain thing).
