True Legacy Nes: Alternative Cold War

Since I did not know enough about Newfoundland before this matter and making the map, and since I see that Canada had quite a stake in Newfoundland, I will consider it Canadian. Do not ask me for any of these other provinces such as Guyana. These can change hands in elections if Britain allows, but Newfoundland I will allow to be Canadian. I apologize for inconveniencing anyone due to my ignorance

Maybe you should be less skimpy in your preparatory research before doing a NES?

That is correct LightFang, I probably should've done more research

Hitlerslegacy, could you update the list of countries on the first page to include the names of all the players? Otherwise it is quite hard to keep track of who is who.
BTW, how much time does each turn represent?

1 turn=1 year

PMs sent out for orders needed

Shower before NES? I think we need to bring out the fire and holy water... :trouble: :mischief:

Update is tomorrow :)

Let's try out Australia.

Many ADTO members have expressed desire for this new weapon, especially Brazil, who needs more aerial support in her war against Venezuela.

BRAZIL INVADES VENEZUELA, Caracas, Brazil. On April 8th, Brazilian troops launched an attack on unprepared Venezuelan border guards. With a strike at Venezuela’s smaller navy and air force, the Venezuelans went with minimal air support in an effort to hold off Brazilian troops. Brazil’s larger numbers and superior firepower, combined with the Venezuelan army needing to move from positions on the Columbian border have caused Brazil to overrun the nation. With the governments unpopularity in Venezuela, the Venezuelan socialist regime only exists in the Maracaibo, with very little hope of holding out.

Admiral Halsey stood on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, together with the Yorktown and the Midway, they were preparing their plans to keep weapons off the British possessions in the Western Hemisphere, as Admiral Halsey was listening to Lt. Thomas speak of the plan, a call arrived from the War Department, Admiral Halsey excused himself to answer the call. Moments later he arrived and politely stopped Lt. Thomas, "Gentlemen, General Eisenhower has informed me that the President will be coming to Norfolk, he wishes to unveil a new weapon. Following the unveiling, he will be coming on board the Enterprise to meet with the crew and speak with us. When this meeting is over, please report to your ships and prepare the reception."

The meeting resumed, two hours later the captains and their XO's departed for their respective ships and fleet command. Admiral Halsey headed to his office where his aide was waiting, Halsey sighed, running such a large fleet can be time consuming and wear down on a body, especially at his old age. If only the US had entered World War II then he would shown his true colors and eliminated each U-boat the Germans had patrolling the Atlantic, but no, the US stayed out and Halsey was assigned to the Pacific Command, which seemed promising considering the Japanese and the US were close to war, but then the Japanese had to go and screw that up by negotiating with the US government and prevent war. Now 10 years later, Halsey is reaching the end of his career, and his job.... blockade the British islands and prevent weapons from entering them. Not exactly a war order, but could result in some kind of skirmish. At least he gets to try out his carriers.

The next day Halsey woke at 6 am and dined with the sailors, a tradition he does every time they prepare to leave port, the sailors always glad to have their admiral with them were for a first, quiet, every sailor knew this was not an exercise or drill, this is the real thing. They will be going into enemy waters, and there was always the possibility of a fight on the water. Every sailor ate silently and all eyes were on the clock, 5 hours to departure. The President was supposed to arrive in 2 hours, and is expected to be around for 2 more hours, leaving the crew with only 1 hour to prepare the ship for sea. Silently the crew finished their meal and headed to their stations, the mechanics and engineers headed to the engine rooms to warm up the engines and do their checklist, weapon specialists and armament specialists went to their guns and ammo supply to check over their equipment, navigators, helmsmen, radio operators, mechanics, pilots, the entire ship silently went to work. Admiral Halsey as usual watched the scene from his spot on the bridge, flanked by the captain and the XO, with him was his aide and a radio operator, Halsey checked his watch, 7:45, the President will arrive in 15 minutes. He spoke to the captain who gave a signal to the 2nd Lt, suddenly the PA system blared, "All crew to the deck! All crew to the Deck!"

Within 10 minutes, everyone, from Mechanics to Pilots were on the deck. They were lined in double row formation facing each other, with the Captain and the XO in front and Admiral Halsey and his aide directly in the center. Admiral Halsey checked his watch again, 7:58, he heard vehicles arriving and saw the Presidential limo arriving, the Marine guards suddenly stood stiff and saluted as the President emerged from the vehicle, President Dewey returned the salute and waved to the crowd of iron workers and dock hands, before heading up the plank where he saluted Admiral Halsey and finally shook hands. After a brief inspection of the ship and the crew from the deck President Dewey took Halsey aside and spoke, "I have a surprise for you."
Admiral Halsey responded, "Sir?"
President Dewey simply turned and walked to the bow of the carrier, 15 Air Force officers suddenly emerged and cleared a space, keeping the sailors at a safe distance, Admiral Halsey continued to stare confused, the crowd suddenly fell silence as a roar filled the air, as the crowd and sailors glanced towards the west, they spotted 4 flying objects, the pilots were confused, they were not planes, nor were they bombers. As the objects flew closer, they could see how agile it was, it did not fly like a regular plane, as the object flew over the President and Admiral Halsey, they could feel a sudden gust of wind, the objects suddenly stopped in midair, the pilots could not help but stare in amazement, "How could they stop in midair?"

The objects began to descend, the sailors began to panic, thinking the object lost control and is now crashing, they rushed to their fire control stations and prepared to combat the inevitable flames that follows a crash. But there were no crash, each object landed on the deck and shut down. Admiral Halsey stared in amazement, he had never seen such a wonder, he looked at the President who simply smiled, "Admiral, I present you a weapon, this is a weapon who will greatly assist us in our fight against the Fascists. Admiral, meet the Comanches. America's first Helicopters." Admiral Halsey was speechless, the design, the flight, the landing, all appeared so fluid and easy, it appeared that these Comanches would put the planes out of service, and ultimately the carriers. Halsey was worried, he knew the carriers were the backbone of the modern navy, but if these helicopters, as they were called, were as good as they are then planes and carriers would be obsolete. As the sailors crept closer to the Comanches, the pilots could be heard saying, "They look like planes but sideways. The propeller is on top and the body is below it? How does it work?"

After a short show, to show the full power of these Comanches, the President finally left the carrier and headed back to DC, while Halsey headed to his office to write a letter to his wife, heralding the end of his glorious career, as the carriers would soon be extinct. But as the fleet departed Norfolk to begin the blockade, the Comanches took their place on the Carrier deck and Admiral Halsey soon began to realize the importance of such an equipment as a speedy transportation from carrier to carrier.

While we do not deny America's territorial sovereignty with regards to the Philippines - indeed, abiding by treaties of ages past - the new nuclear age into which we are boldly trekking concerns us greatly. Perhaps you would be interested in signing a deal? You do not put missiles in the Philippines, and in exchange we agree to not place missiles in Indonesia. Let us set an example for other belligerent powers!

OOC: Hitlerslegacy, why didn't my stability go up?

Bugger, just finished writing my long elaborate story on how a Muslim League-Congress coalition had formed the Indian government. Don't see how that's possible with the League demanding Independence. Ah well.
@Hitlerslegacy: I presume that the Infantry divisions and tanks that were destroyed were from Army Corps I only?
