TSL Earth Remastered

TSL Earth Remastered 2.3.6

I believe this is a known issue already in the steam thread, but Vanilla CTD is confirmed on Tiny and Codiform maps. I play-tested on iPad (which is only Vanilla CiVI at the moment, and why I'd LOVE to have the Tiny map work out).

FWIW the CTD does not occur right at start up, but rather after a few turns with no noticeable trigger action. I also noticed that cities (human and AI) displayed no artwork at all (looked like blank geographic tiles with no improvements).

If anyone doesn't know how to add mods to iPad, a quick explanation: open iTunes; go to File Sharing; copy "Sid Meier's Civilization VI" folder locally; unzip this mod into the mods folder on local copy; drag/drop local "Sid Meier's Civilization VI" back into File Sharing on iTunes and confirm "replace files". (FYSA this will work with any mod)

Thank you, I had to take a break from working on the mod this week but I'm very uncertain about that crash. I disabled the scripts and even used an old version of the maps from before Gathering Storm was released and it still crashed. I'm guessing the problem is in the the modinfo file with some assets being loaded in Vanilla that shouldn't be there. It's my top priority, along with getting the river names and floods working.

On that note, I'm making progress on the rivers. I got randomly generated rivers with names to work on the map. I just need to adapt the LUA code for generating rivers to detect existing rivers or give it precise rivers to generate.

@Aparioss Frank that's not a bug, currently the max city states is 10 on the maps. It wasn't capped previously, but that was causing CTDs in the new version. I couldn't figure out why so I have it set to 10 for stability. I'll increase the cap once I figure out a safe number.

In the meantime you can change this yourself. There is a MapSizes setting in the Config file that controls the number of city states. But because these maps are made in the Worldbuilder, you also have to open the map in the Worldbuilder and manually add more city-states in the player editor tab. The number of city-states slider during game setup only affects the script that runs on the first turn to delete city-states that exceed the maximum number allowed in game.

Hope that makes sense!

EDIT: I'm just going to remove the 10 city-state cap in the setup menu, disregard this

Thank you. Hope you find the cause of the instability soon. Truly love this mod.

hey!!! thank you for this mod, I am not sure if this is your mistake or the game but ---
the korea empire not supposed to be above china - it should be below and above- Indonesia ...

It sounds like you were playing the Cordiform Earth map. The perspective is skewed like that on purpose, it's based on the Stabius-Werner style map projection.

Oh.. sorry for that.. kind of hard to understand for a new guy.. you can add notes when you are pointing with the mouse lol

Сan you upload last version mod on this site, please? Version from 1 march, I mean. I can't download it from steam.

Thank's

Any reason tiny earth eas no North American natural wonders? I realize it's tight and I might be missing something, but the natural wonder is a feature of America's bonus...

I have tested and can say with confidence that this mod is as buggy as hell. 1)it makes very high number of AI opponents on the map, no matter your chosen map size 2)units on the map do not appear, the game cannot be played. Solution: must disable the mod if I do not want TSL Earth Remastered map to play. Its not a big deal to do it, but quite a mess just for 1 mod. Imagine if I want to play other maps, not just TSL Earth. I do not mean to criticize the map itself, just unpleasantness it makes to the rest of the game.

#2 sounds like a compatibility issue. Post on the Crash log on the Steam page if you can.

Try the Vanilla Version of the mod. It only contains the maps. It supports Rise&Fall and Gathering Storm as well.

totalslacker updated TSL Earth Remastered with a new update entry:

Cordiform Earth Update

-Added starting positions for Preslav, Brussels, Valletta, Palenque and Ngazargamu on Cordiform Earth (Brussels spawns on Berlin's plot)
-Add starting positions for Sukritact's Gaul, Siam and Burma on Cordiform Earth

I doubt it, it's a lot of work to keep these updated. I have another project to start working on once this mod is complete, and I think YNAMP covers the larger map sizes pretty well.

totalslacker updated TSL Earth Remastered with a new update entry:

Custom Map Labels

-Fixed fragmented rivers on Cordiform Earth. River flooding still not working.
-Added semi-accurate custom map labels. To activate, uncomment the UpdateDatabase section in the modinfo file. Search for custom map labels.
-Added new Natural Wonders to Cordiform Earth: Ubunsur Hollow, Chocolate Hills, White Desert, Lakes of Ounianga (from Terra Mirabilis)
-Updated city map for Cordiform Earth (still incomplete in the Americas, Asia and Africa)
-Changes to Cordiform Earth

Check out the screenshots in the update entry to see the custom map labels in action. For now, this feature can only be activated by opening the modinfo file and deleting the comment tags surrounding the relevant UpdateDatabase section (search for custom map labels and you'll find it). Also, it's only meant for Cordiform Earth at this point, so don't expect the labels to be correct on TSL Earth Remastered or Tiny Earth yet.

EDIT: Forgot to mention in the update that I made some improvements to Tiny Earth as well.

Also, keep in mind the map labels are assigned by the first Civilization to explore a feature. If you are using the custom map labels, you need to play with the full 42 civs to get as many accurate labels as possible. The order of the Civs chosen when starting a game will also affect which labels are chosen. I've included a list for the best order to select the players, if you want the most accurate labels. Finally, the labels are still semi-random, especially for rivers. Don't expect to get perfect river names in Europe, China or India, it's simply impossible at the moment. But the odds are sometimes the names will be correct. Deserts and Mountains should almost always have the right names however.
