[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

I'm trying to play this mod under G&K, using the Mediterranean map. I only have 3 choices of Civ -- Rome, Greece or Egypt. Shouldn't there be more?

An alternative would be to use the In Game Editor mod; it can be a bit fidgety to use, but for placing some resources it can be very handy, particularly as restrictive starts such as Britain, Italy, Greece and Japan can still be a bit shy of resources compared to other starting points, especially if you were hoping to play for a culture victory.

Anyway, the advantage is that you can just retroactively tweak tiles, it's also handy for creating settlers to kick start AI civs that don't seem to be expanding for some reason.

You're playing with resource checkboxes switched on?

Also, if you go into your mods folder and look in the YnAEMP folder there should be a folder called XML, open up the CivilizationsRequestedResource.xml file and you can customise which resources will start near a civ; create a copy as backup and try to copy the structure that's there, I think civs can have up to six requested resources, though I think a lot of the ones already there are to ensure that civs have access to strategic resources rather than luxury ones, it also doesn't work perfectly for restricted starts.

There's also the resource region XML files; I dunno exactly how those work but they define where different resource types should appear on each map.

What I'd like to see is resource placement that more closely matches the Legendary Start option in normal play; even with requested resources it still isn't perfect.

Also, with the XML files I'm wondering if it would be possible to separate them out. For example, have a separate folder for each map with its resources inside, the current structure of the mod is getting a bit unwieldy since each XML file effectively contains values for every map, but people are never going to play more than one map simultaneously :D

the ressource checkbox was on, so was the allow policy saving (didnt work either) - im useless with xml files, so i rather spend 2 hours painting the map lol

Loved playing this mod in Vanilla, and I'm looking forward to it in G+K. What version do we need to use it with the expansion pack, and is it on Steam workshop?

No, random resources still spawn

How are you loading the map? To do what you describe, you have to make a copy of the blank map from the mods folder and add in the resources manually. When you're done, instead of loading the custom scenario, just load the map in a regular game without launching the mod.

If someone tell me the right placement of resources-country , i try to "fix" this problem : )
Anyway, gg Godemon, this map is awesome!!!

I love this map, but hate the ressource placement, can i load the map in editor and paint it myself without any problems?

thanks

I'd like to know if there is something wrong with it or a matter of personnal preference to have fixed resources ?

anyway editing the maps in the mod folder and manually place resources on it should override the custom resources placement of the mod while leaving tsl for the civs.

you'll have to save the map in ynaemp folder replacing the existing one.

I suppose its just abit of both, but i dont see any ivory in asia/africa

I suppose that I'm probably missing something obvious, but I've run into a... fairly significant issue nonetheless. No one else seems to be having it, but as I said, I'm likely missing something obvious.

I cannot, for the life of me, get the "Custom Game" menu to appear, and there doesn't seem to be any other way of booting up the mod. It was working fine until the patch just before G&K, but the moment I installed that patch, I no longer had any access to the mod, and my saved games which used it started glitching rather badly.

Now, it appears that I've downloaded the file correctly. I thought the download was the issue at first, so I followed all the instructions for when that appears to be the case. But, still, I have no idea how to access the mod proper. This has caused me significant stress, as this is my favourite mod, and the only one I make frequent use of.

Can someone offer me any advice? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey Gedemon, I was wondering, I changed the Requested Resources for civs on the Giant Earth Map by adding crabs and other stuff such as gold and copper just for testing it out. Yet neither does the crab or other resources I added, show up when I play a game on the giant earth map? Any clue on why that might be?

Thanks by the way, for the quick release of the new mod version which include G&K stuff, cool mod!

Since the patch you have to click "next" in the mod menu once you've selected the mods you want to play with, not "back"

full path is : main menu -> mods -> next -> single player -> custom game

lol I try the same thing with the request resource and it doesn't seem to work. Gedemon help? :)
I'll have a look at that when I'll be back home, I can't test it here.
