*shrug* We're more than happy to see other team hiding their research, and taking counterespionage actions. If it makes us less accurate, that just shows the standard of play of our opponents is improving, and why would we be unhappy with that?

this has nothing to do with skill or the "standard of play" it has to do with what teams consider to be fair tactics.

You imply in your post that the other teams are not using this tactic already because they are not of a good enough standard to use it.

Taking counter-espionage actions are fine, but they should be in-game not by manipulating the game to take advantage of the sequential pitboss mechanics. That's the point of this discussion.

Nope. My post is simple; Kaz designed a strategy whilst they knew of a counter tactic that was legal. I'm simply calling it what it is: bad play. The tactic is perfectly legal; hence the attempt to outlaw it now. That was the sole point. As to fairness: legitimately sought, pursued, done, given, etc.; proper under the rules: a fair fight. It's legal, so it's a fair tactic.

For Parkin: You can't exit diplomacy screens in a pause. You have to unpause the game before you enter, the repause after leaving the screen.

Not sure how you can unpause the game yourself before entering it.
But yes, you can of course get someone else to unpause.

I think, Krill means enter the diplo screen.
You can unpause the game, make diplo and then pause again.

Right, but in the case I was referring to, someone else had sent a trade offer to us - so there was no possibility for me to unpause the game.

Cav really should have the common curtosey if they move all their peices to either end turn or at least state in here when the server rolls...it isn't fair to MS as if people wern't around or have access to Civstats they lose time on thier turn...

Sorry about that . I played the turn but wanted to discuss something before ending the turn, however I forgot to end the turn before I left and I had no access to computer until now .

It's not bad, if you have made your turn correct, that is important.
The only disadvantage for me was the time of eot, because I'm in Europe and it was at/after midnight.
