I like Ivan's idea. Southern scout continues along the coast, middle scout returns to Glastonbury as MP, northern scout continues east, while the new curragh goes north around our continent. The old curragh probably W-S-S? If it doesn't see new land, it just goes around that island once, and then follows the "clue" north.
