Two Color Civs

I know it might be confusing, but why have unique colors per civ at all? Why can't each game use the primary colors first (assigning them randomly to each civ)? I know it would be weird to see civA green one game and red the next, but it would be refreshing. And maybe let the player choose their civ's color to begin with?

If the fixed the minimap to increase the contrast between the colors I would be grateful. I hate having 2-3 brown colored civ's adjacent to each other, such a pain :(

Why not get rid of colors specific to a civilization and just have them game generated each time. That way you can have any civs you want and the computer would just auto select a color for them to ensure no close colors or anything.

I didn't like this previously--maybe I've been swayed by EU3, but I think the color-specific makes sense. After all, a country's flag is the same in each game.

Note that if two civs have the exact same color(It does happen in mods) their boarders will combine, that is, look like one giant country when it's really two.

There should be a "color selection" at the Custom Game/Scenario menu, where you could choose Default or 2 colors for a civ.

I could live with this, so long as the default colors make sense (I'm pretty sure no country has used hot pink on its flags, so...let's leave that one out). Then, if you had overlaps, you could pick other ones.

Or, if you are like me, you just curse and squint at the map. :)

yeah, i think one color is ok, where the cities can be recognizable with their flag, or by floating the pointer near/over it, and tells you which civ is that!

Flags would help with recognition of what civ something is a part of, but it would clutter the map an awful lot. Two colours is a nice and simple solution...

Sounds like he was talking about a roll-over effect, there, which would only add one transparent flag image over your city or anyone else's when you check with the cursor, like a tooltip. I could go for that, just as an add-on to the current game, even.

Well I guess that would work. Although it may be rather annoying having all these pop ups when you mouse your cursor over the screen.
