In terms of physical appearance, i thought Rotterdam was pretty vulgar, and Bratislava appeared to be like a decaying wreck too. That said, the people in both cities were friendly enough.

We should build a dam near Decin (few kilometres southeast from Dresden) and make a "Czech sea". Prague would be a nice underwater theme park![]()
Yes maybe, but that probably applies to alot of other cities as well around the world. Lets face it, nasty council estates and abandonded warehouses covered in graffiti aren't pretty, and rather alot of British inner cities look like thatstormbind said:Most British cities (at least all that I know) have a romantic feature of some kind that lifts them out of being classed ugly. Even Birmingham (previously an industrial powerhouse) can conjure uplifting scenes when you know your way around.
But that's really the worst we have here.Nanocyborgasm said:Come on, it's not that bad! I've been to Prague, and while it was very medieval and overpopulated with tourists, it was still a lot of fun.
Nanocyborgasm said:The worst city I've ever visited has to be Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Most of the city, believe it or not, is actually abandoned. I remember walking to work and back and seeing most buildings completely abandoned. I can't even say it's a real city because of this, as it is largely unoccupied. What few buildings do exist are old and falling apart, and the whole city has the look of decay.
In close second is Newark, New Jersey, USA. Like KC, it is largely in ruins thanks to the riots in the late 1960's that left much of it pillaged. However, the city has been undergoing a reconstruction of late and does have some thriving neighborhoods with fantastic night spots that aren't even necessarily dangerous and crime ridden.
Ironically, I've been to Bratislava and didn't find it as bad. If you go to the old center of the city, by the Danube, it's actually quite pleasant.
