UI not loading CivUP 2.0.51 + Social Policy Mod

Hi everyone. :)

As GEM is still in beta stage I've tried a game with CivUP and Social Policy Rebalancing mod (which works fine otherwise).

The UI doesn't load with this mod (something with techbutton), top bar directed me to your bug reporting URL. :)
The lua logs are attached, if you'd like to have a look.



I can live without it, though. I just wanted you to know about it. :)

Hmm, could you also post the database.log file? This indicates there might be a database conflict:

line 304: attempt to index field 'PROMOTION_NEW_UNIT' (a nil value)

I suspect civup adds a promotion with the same name as a promo added by the other mod you're using.
 
Sorry, I've tried but I couldn't reproduce it.. Strange enough since I tried to track down which mod caused the problem which took several starts and it was always reproducable. Does the activation order matter?

I'll try again and upload the logs when it happens. Thanks for the promo hint. :)

Edit: I was wrong, but it's still not like before. UI is loaded for the most part now, but I can't build anything in my city.
Lua.log doesn't show anything for promotions so I'm not sure if database.log helps now. Lua.log now complains about:
Runtime Error: [string "C:\Users\daniel\Documents\My Games\Sid Meie..."]:13: attempt to index field 'LuaLogger' (a nil value)

Confusing..

Just got a CivUP update, I'm trying with that one now.

The update did it. :)
I zipped all the logs now for reference..

The activation order probably matters. The database.log you attached indicates there might be 2 copies of the mod installed. Can you check the folder only contains one version of the mod? The steam workshop frequently installs multiple versions of mods, which breaks the game.

I've got similar results with only one copy of CivUP installed.

But I also noticed that sometimes a deactivated GEM caused bugs in games with completey different mods (CCTP). So, there's the possibility that some of my deactivated mods influenced my CivUP game, right?

I will try a clean game with CivUP + Social Policies Rebalanced next time and upload the logs.
 
I had the same issue it sounds like. I was playing with the following mods:

Ireland Map
IGE
Civ UP (downloaded through Steam Workshop last night)
Tactical nuke mod
Start with a scout mod
Christianity schism mod.

Everything was fine for about 100 turns, and then all of a sudden after finishing a tech, I couldn't choose a new tech. I saved the game and tried to reload it, but the GUI failed to load on top and still couldn't choose a tech. I tried restarting the game, reinstalling mods and clearing the cache, all to no avail.

Could you enable your lua.log file, start the game where you are encountering the tech issue, then attach your lua.log file to a post here? It should contain error messages whenever there is a problem with the game interface. :)

The game loads data from all mods in the mods folder, even the deactivated ones. We can't use the ingame buttons to reliably disable mods. This has been a known bug with the game since the start.
