El limite de los imagenes todavia es una mierda.

I like Austria, but it seems to share the same focuses with the Vanilla version...

*Las Imagenes

Phantoms of America are a completly different collection?

I hate when Spanish does that. Imagenes looks male, why can't it be male? I understand something like papá, but why imagenes or mapa?

Rant on Spanish grammar aside, Phantoms is still a separate thread, I'm just putting any designs that I've made and might eventually do here. There's a lot of civs over there that I want to do, but it's kind of difficult to find information about some of the natives sometimes so they don't have designs yet.

That has to do with the era of Austria that I'm depicting. The Age of Metternich followed the Napoleonic Wars and Europe's diplomacy was dominated by the Congress of Vienna, otherwise known as the Concert of Europe. The whole system developed a system of balance of powers in Europe that prevented any major wars until the Crimean War in the 1860s. Metternich was also a very conservative politician and so was the rest of Europe during this period. Nationalism (excluding the Greek Revolution) and liberalism were crushed and suppressed during this period as well. It also overlaps with the period when Austrian classical music was very popular. Beethoven was one of many composers who lived or worked in Austria during this period. So I put both the diplomatic domination and the musical greatness of the period in the design. Yeah, unfortunately vanilla Austria was already diplomacy and culture but that's basically Austrian history for the most part.

Skyrim civs interest me so I've added a design for Eastmarch:

Eastmarch (Skyrim)

Leader: Ulfric Stormcloak

UA: Sons of Skyrim: Tundra and Snow tiles yield +1 Food and +1 Production, double when constructing military units. Units killed near cities following your religion have a chance of converting to your side.

UB: Shrine of Talos: Replaces Shrine. 25% religious pressure. Tundra and Snow tiles yield +1 Faith when constructing military units. No maintenance cost.

UU: Stormcloak: Replaces Pikeman. May hit and run. Double Movement when starting it's turn on Snow or Tundra. +10% Combat strength when fighting near cities that follow your religion. Upgrades to Musketman.

That WWI France civ is awesome!

Personally I think trenchs are a bit OP. Just sign open borders and spam trenchs for free exp and culture. And in addition to that, they give a massive defense boost.

Thanks! I'd love to make them but JFD already has a WW1 France planned. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be inspired by my design :p

Yeah and I'll agree that the Trench isn't completely balanced. I wanted it to be unique but it should probably be nerfed a bit. When I made the design, I was thinking that they could only be constructed in your territory or enemy territory when at war so you can't just build them where ever you want and get all the XP and culture. I guess it wasn't made perfectly clear. Also, I forgot to mention that they XP would have a cap per unit, so after a unit gets say 10 XP from standing on a Trench they would no longer be able to get XP from Trenches anymore.

It seems kind of odd to make the trench a UI. If a trench improvement was added to the game it should be for all civilizations, would be odd otherwise.

Yeah I just added the Trench because it would be weird to have a civ based on the cultural effects and horrors of WW1 without it.

Also, I've updated my Wales design to something better:

Kingdom of Wales

Leader: Owain Glyndwr

UA: Eden of Bards: Gain a We Love the King Day whenever a :greatwork: Great Work slot is filled. Welsh :greatwork: Great Works of Writing generate +1 :c5culture: Culture for every era they have existed. Free Great Writer at Guilds.

UU: Saethwyr: Replaces the Crossbowman. Starts with Indirect Fire and has double movement in hills. +40% :c5strength: Combat Strength against fortified units. When garrisoned, increases :c5greatperson: Great Person generation rate by 10% for ever level this unit has.

UB: Eisteddfod: Replaces Writer's Guild, but can be built in all cities. 1 :greatwork: Great Work of Writing Slot and 1 Writer Specialist slot. +2 :c5happy: Happiness when the Writing slot is filled. +100% :tourism: Tourism from :greatwork: Great Works during We Love the King Day.

Like the UA and the UU. Though I prefer the writer's guild as a wonder.

I much prefer the more recent design, seems more fleshed out than it's original incarnation. I'm also a fan of the fact that the UU will no longer clash with the standard Longbowman and thus it'll be compatible with JFD's civs.

I'd question the strength of the last part of the UB, but otherwise it's really cool.

Thanks! I'd love to make them but JFD already has a WW1 France planned. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be inspired by my design :p

I would actually like to use: "While at war, Production automatically contributes towards Defensive Buildings," if you'll allow me. I'll credit you for this, of course.

It was my mechanic... are you serious...
(Welp)

Oh its sucksokay, I never get credit for anything.
(TFW Pouakai)

I decided to make some changes to my Metternich design since JFD's CID came out and I came up with this:

Austrian Empire

Leader: Metternich

UA: Concert of Europe: Civs with whom you have diplomatic relations with have a portion of their :c5capital: Capital's highest yield added to your :c5goldenage: Golden Age progress*. During :c5goldenage: Golden Ages, it is added to :tourism: Tourism instead.

UGP: Foreign Minister: Replaces Great Dignitary. Can be expended in foreign territory to establish embassies, open borders, and a defensive pact between the other civ and yourself. Earned 25% faster after the World Congress has been founded.

UB: Konzerthaus: Replaces Opera House. 2 :greatwork: Music slots that provide a same civ, same era theming bonus. Gain :c5greatperson: Great Musician points for every other source of :tourism: Tourism in this city.

5% for embassies, open borders, defensive pacts, and having a delegate in their capital.

How does it sound?
