I'm against all drinking by members of this forum precisely because some people here are big enough pathetic loners to actually make OMG IM SO DRUNKZ SO IM GONNA MAKE A THREAD WHERE I TYPE REALLY BAD THAT IS ABOUT DRINKING IN SOME WAY JUST SO PEOPLE WILL MAKE LITTLE COMMENTS ABOUT HOW I'M CLEARLY DRUNK. Those threads are sooooo gay.

  Where are those threads at??

emoddon made a few. I'm sure there are others too. silver did the only one that was marginally cool because it involved insane racist tirades and lots of swearing and he got a really long ban for it.

I voted "I'm under age, and sometimes I drink", assuming "underage" meaning under the age for purchasing, not drinking

there's a difference where you live?

I'm 19, I've gotten drunk a grand total of 3 times.

To tell the truth, I was rather ambivalent about it. My friend said I should try it it's fun, and all that. Well, I did. I drank quite a bit (10 drinks in four hours), but I don't get it, really... I started to loose my balance slightly, but other than that, I didn't feel a thing. I never drank more than on that first time (being an athlete, I severely dislike not being balanced), but with any less of a dosage, I didn't feel anything. I feel let down. :(

Will I do it again? Probably. Maybe I need to drink more still to get a good buzz. Even if not, I'll prolly just do it so my friend doesn't bug me so much. Not like it's being a detriment...

Drinking sucks. I'm old, and I do it occasionally. I did not drink at all until after highschool (12th grade for you Euros) (18years of age), and being sober through secondary school DEFINATELY made college and grad school ALOT easier because I learned SO much during a time that is, to many people, a blur.

Sir, please step away from the keyboard until you have sobered up. Your drunken rants are not welcome here.

The legal age for drinking should not be lowered because I think very few 18-year-olds possess the maturity to drink responsibly. Then again, it seems obscene to send 18-year-old kids (mere children, really) to war and to die when they are considered too young to drink. It is an outrageous and hypocritical combination of policies that make as much sense as applying an antiseptic swab to the skin of a condemned man before injecting him with a lethal dose of chemicals.

I agree with the idea of lowering the drinking age to 18. Or at least lowering it to 18 for those of us who choose to serve.

I drank underage. Quite a bit too. I drank until I was about 23. Now, I don't drink it all for a number of reasons. But the biggest is that it's the biggest money sink, Lord knows how many thousands of dollars I spent at the bars, or on buying liquor when I was under age. How I'd love to have that money now for vacations, or some new camera lenses.

It's a horrible thing to fall into. I mean, I was at the point where a bottle of jack would get me buzzing, then go to the bars to finish the job. I had a crew...we'd have contests to see who could error out the breathalizer. Just stupid crap. Stupid waste of money.

If you're gonna drink to get drunk, don't do it all the time. There's no sense on having to get 20 drinks just to get drunk. Keep your tolerance low. It's financially better to be a two beer queer. All the effect, none of the cash.

I started drinking beer when I was about 8 or 9 years old. By the time I was in high school I was routinely getting drunk every weekend. Part of the problem was by the time I was 15 I looked like I was 21 and never got carded when I bought beer.

However, I got married at 20 years old and pretty much got busy living life and providing for a family, so drank less and less to where I drink very little today. I might finish off a six pack every two to three weeks, or have a jack and coke every once in awhile. I havent been actually drunk in years.

Oh and I'm all for more freedoms, however I don't see the logic in giving someone the ability to drink the same time they get the ability to drive....So I understand why the age is where it is right now.
Well here in the UK we don't either - driving age at 17, drinking age at 18.

Though it's not clear to me why the drinking age has to be higher. If anything, given the far greater risk of danger to others that can result from driving, and especially the higher risk of accidents from young drivers, it should be the driving age that's higher, and the drinking age lower.

I voted wrong. I'm underage. But I still drink. By the way Mobbos did you're parents know you were drinking.

Well, my dad was an attorney and so we were members of the local country club. However, being the crafty young lads that we were, my friends and I were routinely able to gain access to beer kegs still tapped from previous nights parties. You get the idea.

And my dad would give me a single beer fairly often by the age of 10. He figured one beer wouldnt hurt the kid and it made me feel grown up to drink a beer with my dad. However, when he progressed further into alcoholism, it pretty much turned me off from drinking the hard stuff as I just hated the taste of it and also how it affected my dad.

Thats to bad my dad was an alchohalic for a while.
Their was a gas station down the street. They kept the beer outside. We would always have a nice supply.

Never knew you were the type to blatantly break the law like that!
