Unemployment up to 5.5%

What about what he said? All he did was whine and make excuses.

Just the part where you are completely out of touch with reality.

The reality is that there are fewer good jobs than there are good candidates. With the rapid increase the number of globally available workers, we're heading down a slippery slope towards a high rate of unemployment.

I happen to be one of the fortunate 94.5% that is employed. I just got this job in April and it took me a while to land it. I went through a recruiter that was referred to me by a friend from my college days.

You do have to work at getting a descent job, there's no question about that.

Just when I thought I was out of that conversation, they pull me back in... /pacino

Thanks, luceafarul. It hasn't been terrible really, just terribly frustrating. It could be much worse.

The reality is that there are fewer good jobs than there are good candidates. So take a lesser job. Or if you think are to good for that starve. With the rapid increase the number of globally available workers, we're heading down a slippery slope towards a high rate of unemployment.Yup no jobs in America except for the ones you can find nay day in the paper or on line.

I happen to be one of the fortunate 94.5% that is employed.Thats nice I currenty employ 15 of those 94% I just got this job in April and it took me a while to land it.Thats nice. I went through a recruiter that was referred to me by a friend from my college days. Thats great.

Yes and while you wait you had better get a not so good job. You people sound like spoiled brats to good to get your hands dirty. To good to makes ends meet with what you can get. All you people want the perfect job now. I have no sympathy for any who is able bodied that doesn't have a job. There are always ditches needed to be dug and all that jobs is a willingness to work hard.

 I once worked as an auto-mechanic. How's that for getting your hands dirty? One time I got so oily and dirty a customer said I was due for an oil change.

Try cleaning out stopped up sewers. Or shoveling chicken crap. Or working in a foundry. Auto mechanic has nothing on those jobs.

I got laid off from a factory job at the end of 2006 on a reasonably pay. For most of 2007 I was unemployed or underemplyed. Worked part time as a kitchen hand, packed raw meat by hand into boxes and bags, worked as a temp in a toilet paper factory, and finally got a full time job which I hated but had to do it (it has since got better).

When I was younger I worked at McDonalds, picked vegetables on a farm for less than minimum wage (14 years old). SOmetimes you have to swallow your pride and do whatever to pay the bills as most crap jobs pay more than welfare. One reason I got another job was when I applied for it I was a tempp and I was working 12 hour days and had been temping on that job for 8 weeks so they knew I was a hard worker.

Its only when you can't get a job in some burger joint, farm, Walmart, or work under the tabel for cash that you kinow you're really in the poo. Suck jobs make you look better to a prospective employer.
