thanks to those that prepared the war, I did my best to lose it, yet I failed :p And sorry, I'm totally clueless about diplo victories(still don't get how votes are every 6 turns, I always thought they are every 10...)

as I said, we get a crappy score(should've go kubbie after brennus for domi and a better score, but that would've been another good 3-4 hours).

I don't have an explanation as to why we didn't get the earlier vote--anyone got any ideas? Sal and KK didn't have good relations.


What's next? Here's my recollection of what we've done so far:

Ungy1 --espionage economy. Leader: Vic. EE quite powerful.
Ungy2 --no whip/draft. We had a good map and it was easy with Pericles.
Ungy3 --Aztec flavor game--tough pangea map and we take our only loss.
Ungy4 --no great people--Maya on a semi-isolated map. Zulu attack us after about 50turns of friendly but we hold them off and cruise to victory.
Ungy5 --no commerce multipliers--we play Justinian and really the map was too easy.
Ungy6 --just completed.

We've got a strong group here and I'd love to continue if you guys are up for it.

Some possibilities: no wonder+raging barbs, deity (I know there's one going), some sort of religious game.
Anyone got any ideas?

yeah, I also thought we should get a -1 from dp with izzy; on the other hand, it didn't show up, so I thought it just doesn't apply if the 2 civs. go along nicely with each other.

Signed with izzy so we milk another +1 to counter for some possible request we couldn't accept(ok, she didn't ask for anything, but had to be safe).

I would like to rejoin your team but I'm not sure yet whether I will be able to. However I don't expect it to start soon so I should be able to tell before you start.

I'd like another deity game, but would prefer an interesting variant, however I don't have any decent ideas. Religious game sounds nice, probably ramsses, immortal, must try to build the religious wonders (AP, SM, USak, AWat, ToA (?)), can not run anything but priests, must delete any GP that is no priest.
 
That could be fun. There has been a game on S&T forum IIRC against AI teams... Immortal sounds fine though, as for example diplo and resource trades will be more difficult I imagine.
 
I only played the team game once by shadowing the Pauliskhan thread and I think it is an interesting game.

The team share the teching but not with simply sum, someone mentioned that tech costs went up by 50% per extra team member. The diplomacy is harder than normal, getting friendly partner is very hard since their altitude to you is the average of team members.

As for formats:
Immortal always war archpilago?
Team with barbs immortal (you start at war with everyone, there was a sgotm about this, could be interesting).
Either of these might be hard at immortal though... Other options could be no tech trading or not allowed to build military units. Or even not allowed to capture cities. Quick speed agressive AI is another option.

At the higher levels the AI get defaul negative with the human player. There is also a random factor (It goes up to 3 afaik). I am not sure what saladins base attitude is, but it might be -1 as well. There are a lot of hidden factors. To know the random factors you have to check when attitudes changes between various levels. This can be quite tendious, if you want to optimize for earlier victory it might be important though.

you are too kind--at this point I think we need everyone's ideas.

I like the idea of a team game--maybe us against 3 ai teams?

I'm around for a few days then gone another couple of weeks. Also there's the issue of 3.17 vs 3.19 --I and most of the group are in Duckweed's AW game in 3.17 and others are in other games. Maybe wait a few weeks and start up in 3.19?
 
Hi guys--I know it's been a while but anyone up for a game?

A couple of possibilites--a team game --play against pairs of AI. I played a start this way at immortal and the AI techs way fast--costs 50% more but 2x research. However ai values tech in trade at it's value--or up 50%.

Another possibility--a gentle entry to deity. Vote on a group of the stongest leaders, roll up a start with each, play 20 turns on each then vote on the strongest position.
I think that by itself would be an interesting process.
