*** Unit Request Thread #2 ***

Hi, I have been fooling around alot with Civ3 trying to find units that look more realistic in the game as oppose to the stock units. I'm hung up on the cruiser, I have found lots of good cruiser mods but none the fire their guns forward like a destroyer, they all seem to fire sideways like the battleship (except of course some of the Missile cruisers.) I would like to request a WWII era cruiser that has a forward fireing attack animation if some one would like to do something like that.

If you set as Rotate before Attack they'll swing around and fire broadside /at/ the unit

I have done that in some cases but I can only do it on scenarios, if I start a random game it goes back to the forward fire way. Is there away to change the default rules?

If you open up the 'conquests.biq' (located in the root Conquests folder) you can edit the unit parameters the same as a scenario. The file is 'read-only' by default, so you'll have to uncheck that property before tampering. And be sure to back it up beforehand, of course.

Thorvald of Lym, I just changed the biq file like you said works great, I only changed the rotation of the cruiser so that I can use a better looking cruiser. Now all I need to find is something that will pass for a Halifax Class ship. thanks again..

Excellent robots from both parties, but unfortunately not what I'm looking for. I'm after a unit that is a physical blend of man and machine, kind of like this sucker:

I hope this helps give people some idea of what I mean. I can't even find images of what I want!
