Unit Request Thread 3

Or you can find Aluminum's "snow" (white) Firaxis Mech Infantry. It looks pretty nice, and has tracks, but an autocannon.

I can't find it.

But I did find something Wyrmshadow did which will work.

Wow that is like 6 years old. This morning I spent a few hours completely rebuilding it.
Why? Because I need to sell the model.

But not the UN Variant, so maybe someone might recolor it. The White UN variant was on CDG but that dissapeared years ago.

Yes, because I never made a M-113, he did.

I'd like to request some Babylonian, Sumerian, Hittite, Dutch and Portugese units around because there simply aren't anywhere near enough of any of them. In my mod, each civ has an Age of Power, where they get loads of civ-specific units, and there simply aren't enough for these civs! Please could someone make some? Thanks! :D

You can easily solve this problem by removing Babylon, Sumer, Hittites, Netherlands and Portugal from your mod ;).

I think Babylonian, Sumerian and Hittite are probably hidden somewhere in Sandris's bottomless list of units todo,

I was looking throught the database for Amazon units. Found some excellent ones that will go nicely in my 'lost tribes' mod. Though, an ancient times chariot and ancient bowmaiden would really round out their army. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

for more amazons than on CFC.

Hi, I was hoping someone could do a fairly simple (as far as I know) unit for me.

I just need the Civ3PTW Gallic Swordsman on horseback.

I don't need attacks or anything, just standing and running, it's to represent an early form of dragoons (you know, the kind that rode into combat, then dismounted).

you mean cavalry prior to the invention of a combat saddle allowing the rider to fight mounted on the horse?

dragoons where early cavalry armed with guns.

I don't think there are any units that run and then dismount their horse...
But for a gaul on horseback, you can try this.

Lancaster It would probably be easy-ish to do a cut 'n' paste job there but very time consuming I imagine. If you download Civ3Flic Edit (or flicster) and an Image editing programme like GIMP you could have a go yourself. There are some useful tutorials on these progammes in the tutorials section. A lot to learn though I'm finding.

Sounds like an interesting unit.

EDIT: I know this is a request thread, but in all honesty it's very unlikely anyone will do this for you. It seems to me that the few unit makers we have are mostly busy with their own projects (useful projects of course). Too busy to take requests. Having said that I still make requests here sometimes.

Dragoons morphed into Cavalry as time marched on, but their original purpose was somewhat akin to motorised infantry (vs mechanised infantry).

Dragoons used to be (1600's) very heavy infantry that rode horses to key positions, then dismounted and fought on foot (like motorised infantry taking trucks and armoured vehicles to the battle, then fighting on foot).

Cavalry at this time were really anybody that fought on horseback (like mechanised infantry that fight mounted in their combat-oriented fighting vehicles).

@Nick0515 I guess I would be happy is someone would just palletteswap a blonde horseman from the link Georgestow provided to turn him into a redhead. I have some modding experience, but I've never attempted to do my own unit (I've always just taken other people's), and it just seems like a good idea to try here. If nobody is willing to give me a redheaded horseman, could somebody point me in the direction of a pallette swap tutorial?
