Unit Request Thread

Communitas needs new graphics for a Roman Liburna; a new unit flag and atlas image would be first priorities (3D model less important but still useful). It should be distinct from both the Trireme and Carthage's Quinquereme. (Both are used in Communitas, renamed Bireme and Trireme respectively)

Just a random question, but what's the deal with Building/Wonder graphics? I'm taking a break from my main mod and tossing in the U.N.I.T Headquarters as a World Wonder that grants +2 spies 25% faster tech stealing, et cetera. I know the deal with the XML stuff, but should I just use the National Intelligence Agency art because you can't make new Wonder graphics, or what?

Repost, but I'd really like to know.

You can make 3D wonder graphics, it's entirely possible. Check out the More Wonders OP for an example.

did anybody make the Boeing 747 in the end? I could really do with it!

Also can I request a convertion of the buddhist monk from civ4 (to use missionary animations) aswell!

so the samurai unit with the wig on the helmet i made by myself.

have someone the time and interest to make an Nihon Maru ship ?

Has anyone made a mid-19th century dragoon with the crested helmet using cavalry animations? Also a renaissance/industrial general, like the Colonization general that Wolfdog adapted for Civ 5, but on a horse?

This isn't the right thread (nor was the other thread with the same post). There are many threads in the Modding Tutorials & Reference subforum regarding importing 3D Unit models (at the moment, this includes the top 4 threads). Since you're not trying to reuse Civ5 animations, the Getting Civ 4 Units into Civ 5 - Full Conversion is probably your best place to start (even if your units aren't from Civ4 specifically).

The Blender scripts associated with Nexus Buddy 2 import and export only work with Blender 2.49, unfortunately. You can do most of your work in 2.7 (or any other 3D modelling software), but unfortunately you need to also have a copy of Blender 2.49 for some of the import/export steps.

I'd suggest reposting in the thread I mentioned above, and including some more specifics and attach your files because otherwise it's guesswork.

Thank you very much for help

hi to all

can someone give me a working blend-file i can use as a template from these two units :

-GreatGeneral ( early version, this means the ancient eras )
-Knight

i really need working templates

thanks in advance

Hi... first request.

I'd like this guy:

BearWarr.jpg

To look more like this guy:

Berserker_256.jpg

Most notably, I'd like a 2-handed Axe instead of the club. A bigger bear skin would be nice too, but not that important.

Original file is at

.

Thanks. :)

lasttry: I know you're leery of using danrell's blends--but that's an option--but what's wrong with this tutorial?

nothing is wrong with this tutorial.

i have only the problem that currently im not able to get cavalry units to work, even when
i use the same method that works for infantry ( like samurai ) .

i will keep on trying !

i request Civilization IV knights:

shot1.jpg

for the Gendarme unit of the Renaissance era (transition from Knights to Lancers)
if its possible, remove the shields please.. gendarmes didnt use shields as their armor was durable enough

i'm making a military mod, "para bellum"
a tech tree you can see here. gendarme is at mass production

i request Civilization IV knights... for the Gendarme unit of the Renaissance era

Some of the knights in danrell's ancient packs look closer to gendarmes. I'd be happy to reskin one for you to remove specific heraldry, though I can't remove the fact that the knight and/or horse is wearing a cloth barding over the armor, since that's part of the model. Even though the Civ5 units use a lance and shield, the Civ4 knight's animations will never look as good as the Civ5 animations.

For example, the helmet of the German knight looks more like a Renaissance style than the Crusader helm used by the vanilla knight and many of danrell's other knight conversions.

yeah civ4 model isnt as good but i'd prefer it to the danrell's knight as it is what i really need

If anyone wants to create a Japanese Imperial Marine that would be awesome. :)

They look like this...

Could somebody please make me a modified version of the Longswordsman character model. What I want on it is an Oil pot on right side the units hip (if you don't know what that is or looks like will leave description and pic) and, like the Zulu Impi, I want it to have an animation to throw that Oil pot with the left hand before combat without sheathing the longsword.

Oil Pots:

An Oil Pot is a clay pot filled with highly flammable oils that will burst into fire upon breaking.
