Unofficial BTS 3.13 patch

I'm 99% sure that's what I did. I guess I'll try re-downloading it?

if the culture shows on buildings in your build list, then you know you have Bhruic's patch in the right place. that's a really easy way to check. without the unofficial patch, while you're building a monastery it doesn't show the +2 culture when you hover over it (for example).

KMadCandy is right. Does culture show up on the list of buildings you've completed?

Make sure the .dll is in your \My documents\my games\civ 4\beyond the sword\ folder. Other than that, I have no idea why it's acting like that unless you're much more bigger and advanced than the trading partner.

So, I got the Blessed Sea quest, and I thought I would see whether the bug in it has been sorted. When the quest was announced a galley was circled. I tested playing without upgrading the galley: everything was fine. I succeeded in the quest. Then I went back to a previous save and tested upgrading the galley; I was told the very next turn that the quest had failed, way earlier than my other test had been successful (and, obviously, without the normal conditions for the failure of the quest being present).

This is perhaps a minor bug, but it would be great if it were removed! (There is a thread in the bug reports that says that the bug is confimed, and this was some time before 3.13 came out.)

Well seems like a nice patch. Wath would happen with future oficial patches if i install it?

So there wouldn´t be any problems with future patches?

Thanks. I am going to download it this weekend.

The patch doesn't appear to be working for me (culture not showing up). It's possible I accidentally put it in the wrong location but I don't think so. I'm not at home to check.

But my question is:

If the dll is intended go in the Assets folder in BTS's folder within program files, then will the dll also work if I instead put it in the CustomAssets folder for BTS in My Documents (which I believe I have done - and which appeared to work fine for Blake's old Warlords Better AI mod which I think changed the same dll).

No, with BTS they changed it so that putting the dll into CustomAssets has no effect.

Yes, it does show the culture bonuses, so it must be something else that's wrong. :(

I'm using the newest version of the unofficial patch. Is everyone else also using it? I'm reasonably certain that the AI is still trading for resources it already has because all of the resources I have are always white in the trade window.

I'm using the newest version and it works like a charm. It has to be something with your install.

I did a fresh install last week and it seems to have helped. I hadn't had any CTDs previously and had started to have some with 3.13. In the past couple of days (since my fresh install from scratch) I've been ok.

I think 3.03 really mucked with things. When I did the fresh install 3.03 was not even in the picture of course. Straight from disc to 3.13 + Bhruic's patch.

I'm sure this was asked, but I can't find the answer. If I install this patch, will my current game still work?

Sorry if this is a repeat question.

Ok, another dumb question. I'm a little confused. There is an official 3.13 patch correct? But the one listed here is a patch for that official patch? The one that this thread talks about is called v1.09? So I should have that official 3.13 patch and then use this one listed as v1.09?

I confused myself by reading both stickied threads about an official and unofficial 3.13 patch.

thanks for the help.

Update:
  • Buildings that grant both heathiness and unhealthiness will display both instead of neither in building popups
  • Vassals can no longer be their Master's worst enemy
  • Espionage ratio for humans now displayed in score tooltip (thanks morbus)
  • Improved worker threat assessment from units able to move multiple squares
  • Spies no longer interrupt their mission when moving next to an enemy unit

The second last one should mean that it'll be extremely difficult to capture enemy workers if you are at war with a Civ (ie, using a Woodsman II Warrior).
