"New Map Sizes" sounds the most exciting for me (I hope for the bigger ones :)
map sizes don't bother me that much.

This one is the one I'm looking at:
  • Adding an optional Restart button that rerolls the player’s map generation now that these less predictable start positions are possible

Looking Forward to City Naming (and hoping they eventually add the ability to Keep/Choose your entire Civ's Name/City List/Graphic style)

Also looking forward to "One More Turn" in modern.....and hopefully they can extend that to allow "One more Turn" in other ages as well
(play an age,.. when it reaches 100% you get a save game and from that "save point" can either
Go to the Next Age
or
One more Turn in the Current Age

so you can do Swords and Sandals Eternal or Forever Musket Wars

I think the issue is a number of Relic beliefs are highly focused (City with Wonder/Capital City)... and those cities are often holy cities

Exactly! Cities with Temples, too.

Definitely most excited about 'Significant changes to the Modern Age's Cultural Legacy Path and Victory' (also excited about all the UI polishes and mysterious 'and mores' of course!). Curious what the new resource types is about, I thought the resources in the base game were pretty good as is - hopefully will include a modern camels equivalent lol

I would be extra worried if that puts us in a position where we can no longer produce missionaries of our religion. If missionaries we train still spawn with our relgioin, then this change means there's just one more city to convert.

If, however, this prevents us from producing missionaries of our religion, that would seem like an awful change.
Does religion have much of an impact in the Modern age? I feel like with how limited the current implementation is, one more city to convert isn't really that big of a deal.

It's talking about converting cities in Exploration, not Modern

Hmm, surprised to see no mentioning anymore of allowing 8 players for multiplayer and the corresponding change of the Distant Lands-mechanic. Me and my 7 friends would love to transition to Civ7, but alas ... 😢

I do agree that making the "Distant Lands" and "Homelands" Relative as opposed to absolute would make sense.
Just have to
1. add some "Treasure" resources in each "Land" that only apply to the other "Lands"
2. have a peaceful way to get Treasure Ships from another civ (I have chocolate in my "Homeland".. I should have a way* to send a Treasure Ship to a civ in my "Distant Lands" so we both get points +$)

That should be all the game balancing necessary..... not sure about the coding to do that.

*maybe needs a Merchant Trade Route, an Endeavor, etc.

I don't think so either, but of all the things to rush to change . . .

This isn't a dig against fxs. I just can't believe people were concerned about this of all things that they even said anything.

It is more important than it sounds because of the way it interacts with many of the Reliquary beliefs. Holy cities are quite likely to a) be capital cities, b) have a wonder, c) have a temple or altar, d) have a high rural population or e) have a high urban population. So making them impossible to convert, er… kind of ruins 5 of the reliquary beliefs!

That's a super fair point, thanks all.

"Holy Cities can be converted" smells of being something that was a "fan request;" and I can't believe people wanted that, and thought that was the big issue with the religion game. Oh well, mostly looks good.

I wouldn't say it's a big issue, but with the religion game as it now, it definitely weakened some of the relic beliefs. The covert other capital one most of all - the AI holy cities are almost always their capitals.

But yeah religion in general needs a overhaul.
