I tripped on my headphones, and dragged my laptop off the table. It crashed onto the floor with a still image on this display - nothing worked.

So I pulled it apart, discovered the CPU had fallen out, and put it back together again. It works... but now the screen is flickering slightly in one corner! It's just like a dodgy lightbulb flickering.

If the screen dies, I am stuffed. What do I do? Help!

I don't know all that much about laptop hardware... is it still under warranty by any chance? If so, you can make sure no fall damage is visible, and claim that it started doing that when you opened it to use it.

Laptop screens seem to be one of the most common things to die, after hard drives and optical drives. I've seen quite a few old laptops where the screens would not work at all, or would only work if they were open by a certain amount.

Sorry I couldn't be of any real help...
