[UXP] Legends of Revolutions

Playing on a smaller map has solved my MAF problem :)

Legends of Revolution has been updated to version 0.9.8. It is not prior version save game compatible. The main notable changes are that you should no longer need to launch as an administrator on Vista and Windows 7, you may now disable Legend Units, and the AI will now no longer announce that it is preparing for war (WHEOOHRN diplo denial) unless all other diplomatic denials have been overcome. So don't expect that Orange fist to warn you about Stalin preparing for war if he hates you already, his diplo denial wol't change from "We just don't like you enough", so there will be no prior warning to invasion.

Changelog:

V 0.9.8 changelist:
  • Fully updated to RevDCM 1.61 + current SVN changes
    • Updates betterAI version to .82j
    • Updates BUG component to 4.2
    • Eliminates Python Callbacks (should improve peformance)
    • Barbarian Civ settling now scales better with game speed
  • Fully normalized LoR with BtS, so no crucial strings are missing (should make things easier on scenario makers)
    • Set back Civilizations (Austria reverted to the HRE, other changes are under the hood, such as changing the civilizations info string for Sioux to CIVILIZATION_NATIVE_AMERICA)
    • LSystem Files
    • Added back in missing unit strings such as UNIT_HORSE_ARCHER
  • Add new game options, No Legends and No Wonders
  • Updated installer. Removes need for "Launch as Admin" for Vista Users
  • Removed Protected Cruiser and rebalanced Industrial Era Navy
  • Art updates (Model for Babylonian Longbowman, Ethnic Spy and Achilleszero's General's models, Button for Roman Heavy Footman)
  • Normalized Light and Full versions
  • Set up GameSpeedInfos file so that LoR ends in 2100 AD with a 10% increase in default number of turns
  • Add diplo text for all LoR leaders
  • Update Scenarios to 0.9.8 build, and fixed all bugs in scenarios
  • Changed order of DENIAL_TOO_MANY_WARS code in CvTeamAI.cpp
  • More Translations; specifically German should be eniterely translated

Cool, surprise invasions! Downloading...

Awesome! I'mma get this when I get home l8r

@Italian speakers:

Here is a patch for LoR 0.9.8 that applies Gaplus's Italian translations. This patch wol't do anything for non Italian speakers, as all it has are Italian translations, but it wol't hurt to apply it either. Simply download and install to implement the Italian translations:

Edit: Fixed some XML errors in the patch, found a couple posts below.

What? You're changing Austria back to the HRE? Franz Josef is still there, though, right?

I noticed that in the previous version, Hitler's background music is Judgement Day. That made my day

Are we going to see more of the CFC LH's in some versions to come? I see that the LoR leaders now have diplo text. That's good :)

When you say German is entirely translated does this mean that the Dynamic Civ Names will say "Sovietische Union" versus "Soviet Union" or "Republik Deutschland" versus "Republic of Germany?"

Unfortunately not. Would be nice to get those translated as well. Thanks for having me check though, there were two errors in the XML I just added to the patch. Those are now fixed and in the patch:

Legends of Revolution 0.9.8a patch -translations

Like before this patch only adds translations, mainly for Italian, but there are also some German translations in it as well.

Thank you.Really nice mod!One suggestion, hope you could add Multiple Production mod in your next patch:)

I have certainly considered adding that mod. I very well might, but it's on my list. That is a common request though, and it does look cool.

Also for those having issues with the current installer please see this thread:

I posted your new Dido Phungus420. Here she is:

What do you think?

yeah multiple production would be great

I also have a suggestion to change Lenin's traits to Financial/Enlightened as it fits him better. After revolution, many intellectuals leaved the country, were forced to leave or even were murdered during the 'Red Terror'. so making 100% more GPPs have no scence for him. I think financial or organized is more suitable as he influenced New Economic Policy that helped to rise Russia from ruins after WWI, October Revolution and Civil War.

 Monty Python. Great job, Capo! I'm looking forward to more leaders in LoR. Plus, Hannibal wasn't a very good political leader, but as a general he was cool.

Looks really good The Capo. Checked it out in game, and only flaw I can see is the seem in the neck. I suppose the seem is kind of like the hair on Ekmek's Meiji, since you have other stuff to do, and the leaderhead is already top quality, you can let it go, but it'll keep bothering you because you want this one to look perfect and you'll eventually go back and fix it in a couple of months. As far as the units in LoR go, half of them are taken from VD, the other's from various places or created by achilleszero. So of course you can use them, it's not like I have any proprietary rights over the unit art in LoR. In fact I was going to port LoR's art over for basic BtS, especially since Avain's VD is now broken; bet the VD folks are :):):):):):):)s and don't realize the quality are the same between LoR and VD (actually haveing recently looked at VD, LoR's is better, no repeated buttons, and a few of the artstyles have a more unique look), and talked :):):):) when I offered to do the work; so :):):):) them. Also I was planning on stealing using some of the Leaderheads from your upcoming Diplo mod, so it would be more of a fair trade if you use the art in LoR. Speaking of which, any chance you can give me a copy of your next Diplomacy mod playtest, I obviously can't playtest it for you (my time for modding goes into LoR), but I'd love to be able to grab some of your leaderhead models without needing to wait for the full release.

Is the Blue Marble stuff working with the new version of LoR? It worked with the previous version, but it stopped when i updated it. Do I have to re-install the Blue Marble stuff so that the terrains have changed?

When you install LoR it gives you an option to install "Enhanced Graphics", it's not Blue Marble, it's mostly chugginator's enhanced terrain mod comp. LoR uses that art for it's add on mainly because achilleszero thought it looked better then Blue Marble. This add on (like the old Blue Marble add on), is resource demanding though, as the texture sizes are quite large, so I'd only recommend it for high end systems, or for those who play on smaller maps.
