This mod seems really, really cool. Unforutantely, your filehost seems to be down. Firefox keeps saying it can't reach the server. Any idea what's wrong?
 
Okay.. patch isn't working either.. at first there were the crashes after a little whiel.. now I get

AppName: civilization4.exe AppVer: 1.5.2.1736 ModName: cvgamecoredll.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000698ee

after about 5-10 seconds from load up.. plus my score shows 5061.. which seems odd...

Don't know if this will help.. but I thought you should know about it...

Okay, finaly got the main bug fixed as well as a couple of smaller ones.(The main bug was really weird. Had to do a really awkward fix in order to get it to work)

This version should work.(Did some more thorough testing before releasing it)

Place the folder "Song of the moon" in your mods folder once you extracted it. In this folder there is also a file called Moon_Map.py. Place this file in your PublicMaps directory.

When you start a new game be sure to select moon_map as the map type. You can aslo change some of the other settings of the map. The water setting control how dust seas will be placed on the map.

Thanks, I was actually hoping to play this mod today to feel it out but never got around to it. Hopefully v0.102 runs bug free so that I wont have to spend tomorrow debugging.(my schoolwork is beginning to suffer)
 
I am LOVING it, kicking some butt as NASA, its great we somehow captured the desolation and ruggedness of the moon, i mean im struggling to keep my little civ going while looking at my neighbours titanium and carbon ice valley jealously trying to figure out how to attack, laser tanks thats how, so im running after it and 'discover' isolation and now my cities are struggling to feed themselves after earth-moon contact is severed. im really proud of this now that it is working! we definitely are on to something here.

Good to see that is working properly.(did you notice you can walk on dustsea once it is in your culture borders. And no, this was not intentional ;))

I really like how bonus resourses are really important for survival, much more so than vanilla civ 4
 
resources=life as it should be on the moon, im STILL dying for gold but i like it, my army actually HURTS me i must conquer to pillage gold! it feels harder than vanilla civ4, i am about to attack the score leader in a tank blitz, it might be able to cripple him enough for me to take the lead, if he stops it i will be in big trouble. also, glasshouses appear impossible to build as do biodomes, dust sea= land so there is no skiffs etc and techs that enable trade on water are useless, did you implement my gridless terrain idea? just make a terrain called xxxx_grid that is identical to our regular terrain so people dont see the legacy terrain... also AI STILL builds too many defense turrets and i think that the rock paper scissors counters are TOO dominant IE my LasTanks have 97% win ratio vs enemy fortified in towns with 50% bonus this is a little high i think, we will see how the next campaign goes to see if AI can fight effectively

Currentaly skiffs etc are out but we should be able to figure out how to make them work for a later version.

Edit: I dreaming of what this mod will look like when it is done :D and can't wait. We are at the start of something big and hopely when we are done you will barely be able to tell you are playing civ 4 when you are playing this Mod.
 
yes i agree totally, we are taking the engine and changing EVERYTHING else, if we take this mod to its conclusion we could have it included in a civ4 expansion pack. And No, the AI cannot defend itself at all, our units the way we have them setup will either dominate combat or get completely annihilated. when belizans genius emerges in our next release people will be amazed. imagine, artillery with SHELLS! its gonna be awesome, going to PM him the working version so he can incorporate his coding.
 
haha, happens, well now the damned barbs have hvy lasinfantry which kills my lastanks??? hmm anyways, it seems like in war on the moon you either win big or lose big which now that i think of it is pretty accurate, although this is bad gameplaywise. i AM enjoying trying to win.
 
Hey is there any way you can upload as something other than a .rar file? i'm unable to unzip .rar and would love to try this mod.
