v 26, and above ALL Bugs/Crashes reporting thread

Yeah... apparently schemas are mostly just a way to establish slightly cumbersome filter checks to keep modding a bit less mistake prone and are somewhat unnecessary from what I understand (though AIAndy could explain it better than I can.) I feel much safer using them though.

@AIAndy,

i believe you got that CTD that was happening because of the multi-threading, before i couldn't go 5 turns, not at least with the default off i am at turn 100, so it seems to work, thx.

OK i am still getting my promotions taken away from me, this time automatically got promoted but lost 2??

EDIT: One thing i just found out, the promotionLine now does the same as with Rev On when you try to same exact thing but the game does something else when you re-do the same action (it doesnt reproduce the same results everytime, is what i am saying), so let the "rogue" kill all those scout/trackers and then the promotions will be taken away, you'll see, might take three or so turns.

Can't debug this from the save game - the bug occurred when the unit (the rogue) was created. Can you tell me what the version history of this game is (what version did you start under, what's your best guess for the version the rogue was trained in, any versions it was probably played on in between, and so on)...

Edit - if you can reproduce this with a unit created in the same version the bug occurs in I'll be REALLY interested!! (assuming it's the current version as of writing this, or later)

Updated to 3767 this morning have been able to proceed with game. Thanks.

I looked a Joseph's minidump and can confirm it was in the property solver with what looked to be a screwed up container, which could easily be explained by concurrency issues.

OK here's a pic of my flag with alot of current info. but the rogue was built on SVN 3766.

Remember what i said, REV ON saved games do NOT work the same each time, when you RE-START it each time it is different, ie: I can get a revolution, then go back one autosave and that revolution will not be there THIS time, it will be 2 more turns later, this happens to ALL revolution autosaved game. (ie i should say when playing with Rev On).

So you will NOT get the same effect i do or circumstances i do at the same turn times when a player has Rev On. Rev On is messed up some place with the saves.

So in essence you will have to go for another 2-5 turns more to get the same effect i just got. (Because of Rev On).

I can actually STOP all Revolution(s) if i wanted to in the game ALL the time, if i wanted to cheat all the time this way, i wrote about this 2-3 months ago in the tips/tricks area.

So in answer to the main question (i guess) yes it was after your SVN push when they were "made." But i started the game, i believe on SVN 3763 (not too sure) it was the just after you said you push towards the SVN that you changed the promotionline, "The first time."

I hope this helps out better now...

Oh yeah i just remember i re-started a new game now three times because of this error, thats why i started the last one after you said you made that changed that TB couldn't get to.

I know I'm being a pain here - but could you try a new game under 3765 (or above) - I REALLY don't think it will happen then, but if it does I rally need to know. (sorry)

Edit - BTW - you can take the randomness out of repeating it from your save by not relying on an attack - just go into WB and give the guy more experience (enough to be able to choose another promotion) and it will trigger the same effect

ahahaha  I just knew you were going to say that:sad::p No biggy, sure. . .

Strange graphical glitch I'm assuming due to multi-features (first game I played with them since added---SNV 3767 viewports off).

EDIT---saving and restarting made the feature (forest) display correctly (actually it displayed as mixed conifers and deciduous, but on the correct tile), but unfortunately brought the black tiles back...and this was after starting v3767 5 times in a row with no black tiles.

That means it somehow got added as a secondary feature and then moved to primary by the code I added to savegame loading to save such occurances. I wonder though how this happened in the current version.

@ Koshling

on that save (game started with svn 3768) the rogue after defeating the scout will loose his free promotions.

In a previous game it happens too for the Leadership "free promotion given to a stonespearman champion" and for the hunters hunting sight promotion

Er...remind me...I forgot when you talked about a dump lately...?

Oh, sorry, that was in the Youtube thread, about the issues with Viewports and startup. I said it normally crashed for me and I'd try and get a dump from it. Also, it's not the most recent SVN, it's from yesterday I think. Also, sourceforge is down for me, so that is an issue for the SVN.

Sourceforge is working fine for me, so the problem is not at its end. Run your game up and have a look in the flag area to se the rev please- I'v re-downloaded both the last two without it being a match, and since each one I try takes 5 minutes I'd rather wait until you tell me which it is.

It's 3763. And sourceforge is working again for me, it must have only been down for a short time.

When I just updated to SVN 3772, there was a message; "Warning! One or more files are conflicted" All I ever do to my SVN folder is update it. I have a seperate mod folder that I actually use to play the game.
