v19 bugs and crashes

I've even changed the Stack limit from 10 to 12 with no change can't get past turn 1580AD. I had noticed different behaviors for my units when a stack or city had 10 units another unit could not pass thru either. So I upped the SL to 12 hoping that maybe somewhere there was a "stuck" unit and it could finally pass thru.

Well buggers. Guess I'm hosed on this one.

Edit: see previous post for update. Got past Hang by upping Stack limit to 15 from original 10 to 12 to then 15. Stack Limit it would seem has some built in problems.
 
Indeed, 0 is default unlimited and since it is a BUG setting it did not get stored in the savegame so when I tried it out I did not have a stack limit and as a result also the bug did not happen.
With stack limit set to 12 I get the endless loop as well. Will investigate what the cause is later.
 
When I had the stack limit to 10, and was being invaded by Wang Kong, I started to notice that as I began to set up chokepoints various units of mine would get the red no trespass circle when I tried to move those units thru those stacks. So I would have to move the number of units in the original stack out of the stack to let the units I wanted to pass thru. The stacks acted like ZOCs. This also helped me in controlling Wang's invasion forces as he could only put 10 units on a tile. If the tile he came to shore on was surrounded by my units and impassable terrain he had to wait to win a new tile before the rest could be brought in. Or he had to move on down the coast to a new opening. This caused me quite the scramble too!

So to those looking on by the time you get to having large armies beware that the Stack Limit set too low can have serious WfoC at the EoT.

I finally got Wang to sign a peace treaty but he's already chomping at the bit to get back at me. He's ahead of me in tech and has superior units but invasion over the channel between us is his hinderance. Island Map, Giant, Temperate, and iirc Low sea level, so there is only 3-4 water tiles between our island empires.

HUH? When i got a new promotion for the Apothecary ALL of them in ALL the cities showed up for the upgrade, wish i knew how to do that for all the upgrades?



EDIT: Have this TXT DESTROYED WONDERS in the game from someplace??

What is needed to report multiplayer OOS errors ? I got so far autolog, log folder and 2 autosaves from each PC. Is there anything else needed ?

One of the most important logs is the oos log which is generated by some Python code. It should turn up in the main BtS directory (if the process has the right to write there).
 
Ok, got it.
Essentially this happened on the 2nd turn. My friend build his city in the first turn, in the second turn I build mine and the game OOSed immediately, logs from both 'puters attached. If anything else is needed I can upload.

Thank you. I have found the OoS bug and fixed it. It was a problem with the AI strategy rand which probably happened regularly in the first turns of any MP game.
The fix is uploaded to the SVN.

i have had this error everytime i play with Revolutions now for the past two months: I put it as an error, but it still comes back again. I believe it is more a python error than not?? The next turn button will make the error about mid-way thru, but be far warned: The game i am playing is almost stretched out to the max, Gigantic Map with around 25-30 civs, in the Renaissance Era, so lots and lots of units/buildings etc.

EDIT: OK i tried to re-produce it in the Max Comp game attached but this time it didnt give the error message:crazyeye:

Revolution fails to retrieve a value there. But I am not sure why it fails.
 
Got another weird one here, the town of Akhetaten will not get the building Native ... African, it states only 1 turn but it has been at 1 turn listing for 10 turns already? (Its located near the Northern most top of color Yellow civ).

Updated to latest SVN. Note I havent updated in a while. I can start a game just fine if using the "play a game option", but if I try a custom game I get tons of TXT CLASS errors at the start upon loading. Other odd thing is even though i selected a different civ/leader combo w/unrestricted leaders I kept starting with Peter of the Russians.

Does the custom game starting option work again after you used Play Now once?

1) That is because your healers are starting with enough exp to get a promotion but there is no promotion available until much later in the game. I think we may need a few lesser promotions for the healer units.

2 & 3) That is part of one of The_J's included in v19. I thought I had fixed the text but I may have forgotten to load it up. I will look into it tomorrow.
 
Subdued giant squid can explore FoW and go into ocean tiles before Astronomy - is this intended?
