Varietas Delectat for Rhye's and Fall

Hmm since this is now packaged as a separate mod, how would I go about adding this to RFC RAND like you used to be able to do? or if it would be tricky, is there any chance you could release a version for it? Also note that there is a patch for VD that fixes a ton of bugs

1. Babylon is still the world city, with tipee huts and really strange looking buildings, there is something definitely wrong with the texture.

I seriously dunno what's wrong with that. Perhaps I'll just let them have an Arabic style. Are other cultural graphics OK?

And I didn't create the graphics for these units, so no need to thank me for them . My work on that stuff was only XML.

how would I go about adding this to RFC RAND like you used to be able to do?

Well, it's easier to do then to explain, but take the modules stuff from RFC VD to RAND, turn modular loading on, and replace the RAND GlobalTypes.xml and PlotLSystems with VD ones, then check whether it works.

FOUND A BUG!

Played as Germany. Riflemen have musketmen ID cards (if you know what I mean)

Also love what you did with the panzer's but I was thinking that you should have the nazi symbol on all of Germany's "WW2" units

VD is to 9.1 now.
Ah an i didn't succeed to merge rfc VD with Rand, maybe because i can't found the PlotLSystems?

oh cool, where can I download it and find the changelog? I want to see if any of my suggestions have been used

Ah an i didn't succeed to merge rfc VD with Rand, maybe because i can't found the PlotLSystems?

They're in the XML/Buildings.

VD is to 9.1 now.

Well, 9.1 is mostly just small graphic optimizations, so not really worth a merge so far, IMO.

I think I found the problem with the Babylonian city graphics.

I've changed a few entries in the original CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml file, located in the Assets\XML\Civilizations folder. The mod ignored the one located in Varietas' Delectat folder.

<ArtDefineTag>ART_DEF_CIVILIZATION_BABYLON</ArtDefineTag>
<ArtStyleType>ARTSTYLE_CRESCENT</ArtStyleType>
<UnitArtStyleType>UNIT_ARTSTYLE_BABYLONIAN</UnitArtStyleType>

Just put these lines under Babylonia and the job's done!

EXCELLENT! AWESOME!

Where do I put those few lines exactly? Or could you please just upload the file and I'll save and replace my old txt with this one

That person onedreamer I was talking to in this thread in May was able to fix both Babylon and the Natives before Lone Wolf updated it, you should message him about it.

Vd is to 9.2 now ans is really better optimized(less CTD in view!), you should benefit of the update to rule the babilonian and native bug.

Oh cool, so this VD version 9.2 fixes the Babylon problem? Where can I install it?:)

To the turk: Vd is not RFC VD

To lonweolf: would be cool to update now(with corected babilonian and natives bug) because the 9.2 will considerably reduce the number of CTD.

Ignore this post, I don't know how to delete posts :( and I accidentally created two posts,
ooops...

Ok, so I started up a new game as the Babylonians, with your mod and instantly I knew there was something wrong. There were no village buildings! It was just the palace! (same as Picture 1). I then went on to world builder and realized that Egypt and India had the same problem (Picture 1) but the independents were fine, they had all there normal buildings. I then looked at China, and now they have inherited the Babylon buildings problem (picture 2)! They have Northern European houses, and other wrong textures in Beijing, now that a problem. I then started up another 600AD game now, and played as the Arabs, and they had the same problem as the Egyptians, Babylonians and Indians, they had no village buildings, it was just the granary which they spawn with, basically I think it only effects the village buildings (rather then buildings which you actually build ie. Granary, Barracks, monument).

If someone could please tell me whats going on, that would be very nice, as I have no clue as how to fix this, (I'm more of the bug reporter ;) ) But anyways, if someone, namely onedreamer, could tell me if this is normal, or if someone could tell me how I can fix this, that would be great!

Thank You:)

Either you made a mess or that bugfix is too old, or -most probably- both at the same time :D
I'm downloading VD9.2, will see if I can come up with a RAND/RFC version when I have time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instructions for VD9.2

1- Make a clean installation of RFC or RAND, or make sure you didn't mess with the installation already; backup the installer or the full mod folder.
2- Download and install Varietas Delectat 9.2 (VD). Important: do not choose any option when asked to, during installation, uncheck everything.
3- Copy everything you find in the Assets folder of VD into the Assets folder of RFC or RAND. Overwrite when prompted UPDATE: do not overwrite UnitInfos.xml and CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml
4- Download the file VD_RFC.rar that I attached to this post and uncompress it in the main folder of the mod (RFC or RAND), overwrite when prompted.
5- As usual, set modular loading to 1 in the .ini file of the main folder (eg: Rhye's and Fall RAND.ini).

note1: Citystyles in saved games won't work, you need a fresh start (Units will work though).
note2: I haven't tested the installation process from scratch, make me know if there are problems.

Persian Immortal
To make its graphics work properly you must edit a line. Read how here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=9411845&postcount=348

The Sphinx

6- If you want the Sphinx instead of Stonehenge, download the file Sphinx.rar and uncompress it in the main folder of the mod (RFC or RAND).

@onedreamer
Thanks so much for the installation help!
I'm trying it out now, I'll tell you how it works out. Also I was wondering if I can revert the immortal to Rhye's immortal, would that be possible?

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
It works! I don't know how you did it through that tricky installation process of moving a ton of files around, but I followed your instructions to the letter, and suprisingly it works perfectly. I've just played a game with Babylon, but their city-style problem is fixed and its looking better than ever (also the problems with China and Egypt have been fixed as well). I will admit when I first read your post I was thinking, "wow this is NEVER going to work", but I tried it and its fixed everything!:D

Thanks a ton onedreamer, you really saved the day again, really great job:goodjob:

PS I was wondering if I can get VD 9.2 for RFC mulitplayer, RFCC and some of the other mods I have, would that be possible? I would at least like to try and install it for my vanilla version, but when I try to double click on the VD icon, it says, "VD already installed, do you wish to uninstall?", can't I install it twice?

Actually there is a problem (which you partly noted with the Persian Immortal). I have updated the instructions (in bold). If you didn't backup the original UnitInfos.xml I will attach it to the post.
The installation above should work for RFC, RAND and RFCMP. I only play RAND so I only tested with that one. With other modmods it all depends on the changes they have made and if the changes are modular or not... so in short I don't know, you should ask in the respective threads.
